Broorel kp606 Broorel penguin spoon and me!  Dear Lord! You're the spitting image of Emily Mortimer! (google it) I just saw Match Point(very very good movie) and I didnt notice the resemblence..however my hair is as blonde as olivers now so that's probably why...but yeah I can definatly see it(I get told I look like kirsten dunst alot and I thought Emily Mortimer looked alot like kirsten dunst) Yes, I can see that resembelance. Kirsten has a more round face to her, not to mention when I think of her I think of red hair. Interesting though, nonetheless.

Awww, he was a cute little tyke! I've got new pictures! Like, that I took yesterday! eek It's shocking! Here I'm being all "Darth Andy;" This is usually how I look. Except maybe with a different T-Shirt. I just love my hoodie. heart  Here I'm looking at the camera, and you can see the evil inside me. eek  And here I'm just sitting at my desk using my compy.

Wow, Andy looks so grown up.
You have a very familiar look. Kind of how I looked before I gayed-up my appearance, significantly.

I got accepted to A&M, but we decided that I should go somewhere else, at least for a little, because I'm a bit confused about what I want to major in, and A&M is darn expensive. sweatdrop I'm at Angelo State University right now. I may yet be at A&M though; Probably for graduate work, but I might be there as soon as this Fall. I just need to decide on whether I want to or not, because it's still pretty expensive, and I kind of like it here; It's nice and small, and I've got lots of friends. Which is important to me, because we moved around a lot when I was a kid (Dad's in the Air Force) so I never really got any long lasting friends. But if I get some good scholarships (*coughgottaapplyforthemfirstcough*), I might go there, just because it's good for getting work afterwards.

Alot of times going to a bigger school affords you alot more diversity. When I was at UT I was able to take koren and bibilical hebrew as well as a very interesting diversity in the philosophy department.
Lauren went to a really small college though and she really liked it but it didnt have the diversity.

Howdy to you to! biggrin Well, I don't know about the other races, but it sometimes seems like half the campus is black. sweatdrop Loud and obnoxious black folk too. I mean, I'm not racist or anything. A few of the black guys on campus are really cool, but it seems like the majority are just annoying. But really, I'm not sure if diversity is really important for me. It's not like I'm going to go out and meet all these people. sweatdrop Whether they are my race or not isn't as important to me as what kind of person they are. As far as the classes, I don't think I have any reason to come across those anyways, honestly. Right now I'm still classified as Computer Science, but I'm almost certain I'm going to change to a more liberal-arts degree; Journalism, English, or Education. I'd like to major in Japanese, but there's not even a first course here. Which is why I'm also considering schools on the west coast, where I'd still have in state tuition because my family moved out there last summer, and their rules work in the favor of military membors. But for big v. small colleges, I don't know which I would prefer; I don't really like crowds, but bigger colleges do offer more job placement-ability, and, as you said, more diversity. Not to mention that schools like UT and A&M have all those traditions. Which I'm not sure whether that's a plus or a minus. sweatdrop But more important then the inherant pluses and minuses, I just don't want to have to move again. Too much work. Not to mention I've already got a good base of friends here, and I like it here. Except for the insane Texas weather. But moving to A&M or Tech or one of the UTs isn't going to help that any. sweatdrop

Anywyays, I dont really like big classes either so what I did was just sit on the front row and pretend there was nobody behind me. I asked questions if I felt the need and contributed as well. I wasnt a "front row kid" but I didnt let the size stop me from clarifying certain issues.
My point isnt TO go to UT or A&M, which yes Ive heard they have quite the involving tradtion that UT didnt, but rather going to a big school anywhere often gives you the options to take, say fencing or kendo (I was considering both at UT) or in your case Japanese culture and language. Small schools are great when they have your specific classes...I was actually considering going to a school that only took 13 people a year...but large schools will most likely give you alot more choices. If youre computer science strictly, Im not sure how that works out, but Im sure if you have a specialty in that realm you could realize it at a large CA college or something.
But like you said, there is alot to the small school as far as social and ease of learning goes and if its what you like, by all means, live it up smile

I.Am It's not just the class sizes, I'm uncomfortable walking around in large crowds to get to class or whatever. And I've always wanted to take fencing and kendo. eek Fencing was taught specifically by UT and they had an extended studies group that met in the afternoon for Kendo...the Kendo class, to be fair, wasnt credited....but it WAS hosted by UT. I was enrolled in both fencing and Kendo when my wife got pregnant and I had to drop UT....Korean, Biblical Hebrew, Kendo and Fencing, as well as my more generic Ethics and Linguistics class. It was WELL worth it as I love my wife and my son and my entire way of life right now to death. And I understand the crowd thing...that was definitely a problem. I felt like somebody HAD to be looking at me. Sometimes they were....and they ended up being people I went to HS with haha. The Kendo class looked pretty sweet smile

lol, I might have to change my loyalties then... xd I actually never looked at UT, I'm not sure why. sweatdrop Maybe because I was interested in A&Ms traditions, and my degree was more technical, so Tech worked. But now that I'm changing degrees... Hmm...
And hey, if I go to UT, it'd probably be Dallas, because that's about as far north as I can think of. sweatdrop

IF you want to go to a UT system school in North Texas..UT Arlington is definatly the best. It has a world-renouned Enginering program and lots of other good programs. *it's where I go now* Not alot of pride or traditions though, we dont even have a football team(due to CHEATING, they were kicked out of the NCAA in the 70's)
