indeed the mantis love has spread like wildfire... even I want one as a pet, but I have two problems.
One: I'm fairly skittish around bugs myself, since they're delicate little things it seems, but... Well.. :S From the way you guys talk they're not as fragile as they seem.
Two: I have a four year old, extremely curious, avidly bughating, wonderful little daughter. X3 I think Imma hold off on the idea until she's old enough to understand that buggies aren't that bad.

Heh, thanks guys. whee To be honest, the more you talk about them the more interesting mantises sound, but I am pretty set on getting a pet that has some fur on it. I also want something relatively small and easy to take care of because this house really deson't need another cat or dog. While I would absolutely love a ferret, it kind of falls into that same catagory sweatdrop and our newest dog is already a handful on his own.
For any concerned, I have raised small critters such as gerbils and hamsters before, so I know what I am getting into. I remeber the last gerbil I had, she was so pretty and was already use to humans so was pretty calm. She would only bite if someone picked her up too hard, never tried to run away and usually would just skitter up to your shoulder and rest there the entire time she was out. The only major problem is that she would go the bathroom on you if you kept her out too long. rofl
Hmm... she loved to be held and pet too, she use to nuzzle my neck when she wanted attention. Saddly, when I got her she was already pretty old. sad Didn't end up living very long afer we got her. I know they don't have a very long life span as it is, but I would like to try and get my next pair as young as possible... It is too bad I would have no idea what I was doing to bread them though, cause getting a male and a female would be a good way to insure that I would always have a few around. blaugh But I know very well it is better to get two of the same gender to avoid being stuck with more than one can handle.

I am sick with guilt over something I dare not speak about, not to you guys, not to anyone. I can tell you it's something that some furs enjoy, but I feel that I shouldn't enjoy such an activity as this, as it goes against my morals, and yet I am attracted to it. I just.....I feel disgusted with myself and yet I can't help but be fascinated by it at the same time......
Sorry if that was too vague.....Right now, I'm not up to dealing with your scorn or hate when I finally tell you all what it is. Of course, I'm sure I might get a mixed response from everyone......but whatever.
