Imogen Heap's songs: Hide and Seek and Speeding Cars. Though, I don't know if you like her. Her music is interesting. Also, Jason Mraz? And I would ask Aivi about calming music. She has some good piano music if you like that. You know, Christofori's Dream is always a popular one (one that I've played before as well.) I love how this piece builds up right until the end. Also, though it is out of season, Carol of the Bells cuz it sounds awesome. haha Nice! The other three were interesting. heh

Totally agree with Sevi on "Hide and Seek." I used to fall asleep to that one, myself. Metric - Give Me Sympathy One of my favorite bands EVER is streaming their entire latest album on their site. I can't WAIT until the release next week. If you're interested in some synthy indie rock music that will fill your ears with sweet melodies and make you move your feet, check them out. I've seen them twice in San Francisco, they're a blast. <3

Sevi: Because they think out of the box in an abstract way for creating music.
It makes me want to paint something inspired by the blue man group and arcattack. ninja

Jack's Mannequin
"Bruised"
I've got my things, I'm good to go You met me at the terminal Just one more plane ride and it's done
We stood like statues at the gate Vacation's come and gone too late There's so much sun where I'm from I had to give it away, had to give you away
And we spent four days on an Island at your family's old hotel Sometimes perfection can be It can be perfect hell, perfect...
Hours pass, and she still counts the minutes That I am not there, I swear I didn't mean For it to feel like this Like every inch of me is bruised, bruised And don't fly fast. Oh, pilot can you help me? Can you make this last? This plane is all I got So keep it steady, now Cause every inch you see is bruised
I lace my Chucks, I walk the aisle I take my pills, the babies cry All I hear is what's playing through The in-flight radio Now every word of every song I ever heard that made me wanna stay Is what's playing through The in-flight radio, and I And I am, finally waking up
Hours pass, and she still counts the minutes That I am not there, I swear I didn't mean For it to feel like this Like every inch of me is bruised, bruised Don't fly fast. Oh, pilot can you help me? Can you make this last? This plane is all I got So keep it steady, now Cause every inch you see is bruised, yeah
So read your books, but stay out late Some nights, some nights, and don't think That you can't stop by the bar You haven't shown your face here since the bad news Well I'm here till close, with fingers crossed Each night cause your place isn't far
And hours pass, and hours pass, yeah, yeah...
Yeah, yeah, she still counts the minutes That I am not there, I swear I didn't mean For it to feel like this Like every inch of me is bruised, bruised And don't fly fast. Oh, pilot can you help me? Can you make this last? This plane is all I got So keep it steady, now Cause every inch you see is bruised, bruised, bruised

I originally grabbed this song because of the piano mixture into it. I didn't know what the lyrics were, then I looked those up and listened...
Woweee.

The music I have is pretty eclectic, I suppose.
The CD's that are in my stereo are as follows:
Julian-K "Death to Analog" (electronica/rockish, side project from Orgy)
Chris Cornell "Carry On" (adult alternative rock I guess)
History For Sale (rock, the singer kind of has deep vocals and the band has awesome guitar and drum melodies, the bands debut EP)
Robert Pattinson (softish, guy singing with a guitar, has a blues sort of sound)
Nine Inch Nails "The Fragile" (industrial)
The Alkaline Trio "Good Morning" (punk)

Hot Chip - Keep Fallin'

Arnold Schoenberg - Pierrot Lunaire
Atonal music? Why yes, I'm feeling a bit pretentious...
I need to go to grad school or something. It's driving me crazy to say, "This song has the same melody as that other song, just different chords underneath it, and the notes in the chords are played one-after-the-other instead of all at once. So you think it's different, but it's not."
Instead of "This piece is just the same melody reharmonized with an arpeggiated accompaniment."
*sigh* I guess I'm in just in a post-college slump... it's been awhile since I've been around friends who are into the same things...

omg.... I saw this CD in Hot Topic saying that they are a local band. Anyway, I checked them out on Myspace and OMG....wtf? XDD It's soooo funny. http://www.myspace.com/bubblepaperWTF?!?! I'm venturing on them being a children's music CD or some kind of euphemism of social awkwardness (among....ONE thing XDD). ...I could see this on Spongebob. In fact, I would LOVE this on Spongebob. The Scissors Song and The Lazy Bee own! "He's the most magical chinchilla on eeeeeearth!"
