Aura laughed and broke the silence that seemed to settle over them all as they lay there on the floor in front of the fireplace. "You know Niah...when I said sleep with somebody...I really didn't mean the conotated version of the act..." Alexander. In some freaky way, it made sense. It was a common trait among males of any species...pick on and torture the one they're interested in unmercifully.

Niah watched Bastet leave and considered getting information out of Aura. It would be underhanded but just now she really didn't care. "So Aura...what's with Bastet? I mean I know she's feeling left out but has she ever been in love? Cause Ra knows it sucks when you love and lose and then see love all around you." She instantly thought of Nadai. She still had issues to deal with as well. She turned to Aura and waited to see what she would say.

Niah's eyes widened. "Damn." she said softly. She really didn't know what to say. Her experience was nowhere near that. She couldn't even compare. She began to stroke her cat. "Well that explains a lot. I guess I never even considered that. I mean you don't really think people are capable of that kind of thing....but then if you live as long as we have...you see a lot..." Niah considered for a moment. "So does she want to fall in love again or does she never want to again...then again would you know that information?" Niah really hadn't expected Aura to tell her all that. She was really in shock...

Bastet yawned and stretched in her dry clothes. her memories of Omari were fresh in her head, as if they happened yesterday. Burying her feelings she put on the best nochalant attitude that she could.

Scratching behind her ear she walked out into the hallway where she heard Niah and Aura talking. Bounding up to them, not really listening to what they were saying, she plopped back onto her pillow in more of a sprawled position this time. She did manage to hear the last part, "What are you feeling guilty about Aura?"

Aura was quiet for a moment and looked at Niah and then to Bastet. She swallowed then mocked a smile and waved a hand dismissively. "Oh come on now, enough pestering about that. You'll wear out all the chat tonight if we continue on..."

Eclipse tilted his head to the side and watched all three of them, fluffing his ebony wings and shifting slightly to a more comfortable position. "Oh! Bastet did you know that Saradin is back?" He said it rather excitedly, he had missed his old friend.

Hiding the truth from Bastet wouldn't help. So Aura resolved to simply tell her. "Niah asked about you and love. I told her about Omari...and what I really feel guilty about is all this talk of my being enagaged...I don't mean to draw focus to it, if it's going to bother you that is..."

Bastet laid back and closed her eyes. Her reaction had guilted them? Why? Sighing and rubbing her temples she kept her gaze away, "You have no reason to feel guilty, you did not kill him. Why should I have special treatment? You guys should be happy, I hope that you will not love and lose." Opening her eyes she found herself again staring into the undying fire. "I am no reason for your joy to be ruined. I am however intrigued as to how you have loved and lost, and choose to try again Niah."

Nailah was silent for a moment. She had only told the story once before to Saradin. Taking a deep breath she began to tell them the story. "His name was Nadai. I met him right after I was poisoned. We became friends and it went from there. I needed protection and he provided it. We ended up in a town where we played husband and wife. Then one day it turned into so much more. We fell in love and were so happy. The years passed and he aged but I didn't. He began to suspect I hadn't told him everything and he was right. When he was around thirty-five summers I finally told him the truth. I offered him the antidote but he refused to take it. I never spoke of it again. Then when he turned fifty summers he got really sick. I tried to get him to take the antidote as a desperate attempt to keep him with me but he didn't want to live forever an old man. I really wasn't thinking. He died that night. I was...devastated. I tried to kill myself that night...sliced my wrists." Nailah took a breath. She refused to cry. "I must say I really didn't want to love again. I even feel now like I might be putting Nadai's love and memory second. It makes me feel like maybe I didn't really love him...but I know I did. It's so confusing...
