Five years ago when I was part of an IZ forum there was a japanese american member who was talking about her favorite jrock band, Glay. Normally I was curious and so I downloaded a few of their songs. I immediately fell in love with them and with that I began looking into other jrock bands.

I've always liked anime and the music that went along with it, but it was actually about a month or two ago that a friend of mine introduced me to Dir en grey. That's where it all began.

Dir en grey was the first jrock band I listened too. I don't even remember how I discovered them now =l I do believe I was doing random searches on youtube... Goodness I suck I really do wish I could remember >.<
So let's see I have been into Jrock for about 2 or 3 years now.

I got Into J-rock mostly because of anime and JPop. Watch the Slayers series a few years ago... probably in 02-03. I loved the Intro's so i had to be able to listen to them more. did the whole p2p thing and got pretty obessed with megumi's work. Then i thought to myself... (at the time being more of a metal fan than anything) I had to find out what thier rock scene was like. So i did a couple of searches and found a few names. Of course the first few names i was able to find stuff from were X-Japan, Malice Mizer & Dir en Grey. I found a bootleg copy of Merveilles by malice mizer in a comic shop about a year later. Domestic F#*@er family was the first song i Heard from Dir En Grey. Since then i've been hooked. They are one of my favorite bands right now. And I find myself personally pleased with their progression. I love how hard the New Album is but still prone to Vulgar. Only recently after Seeing Dir En grey for the first time this winter have i really started looking into more J-Rock. I'm finding some fun stuff. Unsraw & Danger Gang really catch my ear.

Blame my cousins
after my dad's passing I lived with my cousins until my mom came to get me from Japan, they were X Japan fanatics and would always be playing it everywhere, not just them but so same bands that I don't even know their names they have Dahlia on Tape lol. Then when I moved to America they forced it down my throat with SADS and Dir en Grey hide, the works, so I would put it off and on and then I got sucked into it 4 years ago ^^
they took me to the first day of blitz days though when I visited a few years ago, that's how they go t me to listen to diru in the first place, I have to admit it scared me at first n.n;;;

2 years ago in an art lesson my friend was listening to some Diru, asked if I could listen and he made me a copy of the songs. Then limewire, shopping and myspace did the rest.
