Varthan rolled his eyes "I do not need to be told that my own servants are back. I know as soon as they enter the cave"

"Right. Of course." Nanori said lightly. She then did another bow, "I'll be taking by leave now."

She turned herself around and walked out of his chambers for the second time in just a few minutes.

Ciara awoke and stretched. She hadn't slept long but bordom often won over sleep. Shifting into her human form, she threw her bag over her shoulder. She headed down into the town. She didn't bother with worrying about the other dragon. If he didn't hear her message that was his problem.

Varthan yawned again "Too polite, that girl" he muttered

In all honesty...she had no idea what to do. She had cleaned just yesterday, so there was no need to do that. And the food would be well stocked for quite sometime. Nanori could think of nothing.

Eventually she made her way to the town and loitered around the market.

There was a new shop, one that sold jewlery. Curious, she walked over to have a closer look. Apparently the owner of said shop had once been saved by a family of traveling gypsies in his youth. And, for whatever reason, he had a lot of their merchandise. The owner was an older man and didn't seem all there...

Nanori could plainly see that much of what was being sold was worthless junk. Fake and falling appart. None the less, small rings and insignificant pendants flew out of the shop. People will by anything if they think it's an antique, she supposed.

She was about to walk out when something caught her eye. It was a blood red pendant on a thin, silver chain. The jewel was a long rectagle hanging downward with a black-silver dragon wrapping around it. Nanori thought it was quite nice.

The old man noticed her staring and told her, "Ahhh....good choice, dear. That piece is perhaps the most valuable in my entire shop. Why is it so precious? I'll tell ya. See that stone? It's red as red can be. But legend says that it used to be the purest of white, clear as a diamon.

"The gypsies said that it's name is Amria. Means 'curse' or 'oath' in their language. Don't know with is the right translation. Anyways they said that the stone once belonged to an enchantress. She was known for her beauty and compassion. It is said that she was called to kill a fearsome giant lizard who threatened to destroy a village. But what ended up happening is that in all of her kindness she ended up fallin' in love with the horrid beast! The creature, however, had no heart and killed the maiden. The clear stone then became trainted with her innocent blood..."

Suddenly the man smiled. It sent a chill up her spine. At this, his smile widened, "You know...my memory ain't what is used to be. Perhaps the story is wrong." He pauses to laugh,"I know, it's not real and all. What with giant lizards..."

After an awkward silence Nanori turned to leave. To her surprise the man was waiting for her at the door, the pendant hanging from his hand.

"A gift. For listening to an old man's nonsense."

Hesitently she took it and left the shop.

((Whoo....long post.))

Once Nanori left, Ialu smiled slyly and flawlessly went into a bow so deep it would have been difficult to tell if it were mocking or serviant before his master. "My Lord." He said monotonically, and raised himself before Varthan gave him any order either way. "You have some visitors. Quite a few, in fact. There's a girl of my age, no real threat I believe. She's curious, and going along with the crowd. A man, 25, by the name of Jason... or so he believes himself." As usual, Ialu left off much of the information that he had deduced from his journey 'out' - he had a fondness of keeping as much to himself as he could manage to without getting in trouble with his master.

"And is there anyone else?" Varthan asked. He knew there was a dragon in his territory; he had received it's mental alert. Varthan wanted to test Ialu, to see how much Ialu felt he could hide. (Edit: added in a missing 'else' to Varthans question)

Ialu's eyes took on a slight mischevious glow, barely noticeable behind the sheen which covered them, and the silvery hair covering the whole. "Of course there is, Master Black. I have already described two of them to you." The 'them' was, of course, purposeful. He knew damn well that Varthan had recieved Ciara's message, and that he then knew that he was witholding that much information from him - at least. Not to mention his open-ended statement about Jason. Really, what he spoke of and what he kept silent was carefully calculated. He had mentioned the most vague infomation he could about the two people entering into his master's territory there for the purpose of hunting the dragon, and had therefore fulfilled his duty to the extent of telling the Black what he absolutely needed to know.

Varthan rolled his eyes "You know what I mean" he said "Now, you may leave. I know you are lying to me"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 30, 2007 4:35 pm

"Lying?" Ialu demanded, tilting his head to one side. "But my Lord, I would never lie to you. After all, you could kill me easily." Of course, this was true. Because of Varthan's power over him, Ialu really would never lie to the dragon (about most matters.) It was merely a matter of telling a limited amount of the truth. "But if you want me to leave, I'm afraid you'll have to get me some help. Unless you had any other questions?" He left his true request unspoken - Varthan would have to be more specific before Ialu would say anything more. And Ialu knew that he probably would. Although the dragon could easily track down his opponents without help, it made things much easier if he didn't even have to capture them to interrogate them.

"Call for Nanori then, if you need help" Varthan said, yawning, stretching his wings.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 04, 2007 5:56 pm

((If Varthan said 'else,' he would have told him. I'll go back to then, I suppose.))

"Yes, in fact." Ialu responded. "I believe you've already heard one of them - another dragon. She means no threat to you, as I suppose was obvious in that she alerted you to her presence at all. Her name is Ciara. There's a sorcerous named Tai of similar intent. She's curious about your relationship with the humans who serve you, I think. Her intentions were muddled. The man I mentioned earlier, Jason, is a dragon as well. He lost his memory some time ago, and therefore is unaware of this. He seems to have some personal vendetta against his own kind... I'm not sure why, he keeps it very well guarded. Is this a satisfactory report, my lord?" He asked, rather sarcastically. Varthan rarely got that much information out of Ialu all at once, but seeing as his master was already irritated, he decided to play it safe.

Varthan snorted, smoke curling from his nostrils "You think I am not aware of this?" Varthan asked "I know if there is someone in my territory. What I lack is specifics"
PostPosted: Thu Oct 04, 2007 10:52 pm

Ialu sighed, closing his eyes. "I have told you, my Lord, this is all that I know. I am not so accomplished as to break past mental barriers that someone doesn't even know they put up. If it is of Ciara you speak, I can supply you with more information, but there is a great deal to tell and I do not know what you want to hear."
