Yeah I know, it's a really old series. However, if you think about it, they have to add some aspects to make it more interesting to adults. They do that especially nowadays with kid's films to keep the adults interested too.
I'm not sure whether I could believe that those weren't intended to be jokes for adults. Even my friend with Asperger's syndrome said that he thought it was the case because he caught on to it too.
I'd like to see the Animals of Farthing Wood again. Heck I miss that cartoon.

Rescue Rangers and Duck Tails were the source of my life as a kid, with the Saturday morning side of Garfield and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Oh TMNT! How I loved thee!
On the slightly newer side of old school, Recess has to be the most brilliant kids' cartoon I've ever seen. So high-brow it's funny.

Ah yes, but Beetle Juice is a cartoon based of a movie, it counts but, I don't know for how long it ran though...
It seems there are lots of fans of the turtles here. And to think the creators made them as a joke, ha! Joke's on them I believe. he-he. mrgreen

Rainbow Brite was around the same time as My Little Pony and the Care Bears...
Someone mentioned a whole lotta shows that were on Nickelodeon - that was cable TV! We were too poor...
Jem was the ultimate 80's cartoon....

Go figure! mrgreen And I mentioned the thing about not knowing if you were too old cuz I don't know you all that well yet. That and I don't know yer age neither. rolleyes And I hear it's not polite to ask a lady her age so I'm not gonna. wink

I know the one you're talking about. It's a new version of the Transformers cartoon and I think it sucks.

Yes ~ could have been worse - but *damn* - they could have made it a little better - - - The animation in the original is all straight lines... very harsh - and stong! This new one is all curves... and SO FREAKING WIMPY!Maybe they are trying to get girls interested...? Some girls are not wimps and they need to go back to the old way of animating it. Even the storyline was wimpy - AND - the voice actors weren't all that good....
Can you tell I have issues? mrgreen

Issues!? No, I couldn't tell till now, he-he. I still haven't seen the transformers movie though. I did know that they had changed Megatron's transformation into something rather lame. I can't believe that they no longer made him into a gun cuz of all the censorship mumbo jumbo. Censorship sucks! scream

I have yet to see the new Transformers movie... my boyfriend took a friend of mine on a movie date to see it while I was out of town for the summer...
Anyways...
Rainbow Brite rocked. A ton. As did the Care Bears and My Little Pony. Hurrah for children of the 80s!
