I'd actually go for another older form of execution as well for which I have no real name for: simply, it requires lying your victim flat, placing a board down, and stacking large rocks atop them until their innards squish out like a tube of toothpaste.
Such a lovely mental image, isn't it?

Stoning IS throwing rocks, but I've heard of that being used to kill "Witches" at Salem and in Europe. The History Channel called it stoning... *Shrug*
