"Thank you..." He was much more vigilant about drinking his water this time. It refreshed and cooled his throat, washing out all the stickiness and bad feeling in his mouth. "That's much better." He was running out of questions for them, and he knew that when he stopped asking the question they'd start asking him about his guardian.

"So is it just you and your mom in your family?" Tristen spoke only after he had made sure the boy was alright again. She yawned boredly, having finished her food. This was getting reall dull, real fast

"Um...." Hyacinthus looked down. "Well...there's my mommy and me." What was he supposed to say? He brightened up when he remembered what they say he could tell other people. "And my mommy's friend, Xanthippe. She lived here first before my mommy came because she wanted to find a place for live."

"Thats real nice of Xanthippe. Our Mom had a friend here before she came to the island too, but didn't know it." He nodded, beginning to clean up the empty plates and glasses. "So you have no daddy too?" Darn. And here she thought she was special!

He perked up, eyes widening. "Is your mommy's friend like my mommy's friend?" he asked excitedly. If they had families that were similar, he didn't have to worry about his parents getting mad at him for talking about them. It'd be okay and then he could keep being friends with Tristen.

He paused, thinking before slowly nodding. "From what I've heard, yes." Tristen dried his hands off on a towel. And they were still talking about mom, ru, and whoever Hyacinthus was yapping about. She yawned and buried her face back into the magazine. How dull

He bounced on the counter in glee. "So your mommy and her friend sleep in the same bed, right?" he blurted out, hoping for a 'yes' to his question.

He slowly looked over his shoulder at the child, blinking. "Um...no." sweatdrop "Ru has her own room. Besides...I don't think she would really fit in Moms bed...she's a centaur." "Yeah, so I sleep in mommy's bed! Well, me and Zana." Erylia called out proudly, setting down the calender now that she had seen everything in it "Zana! Thats her name." He shook his head slightly

His pink face turned dark fuschia when he realized that he had exposed his mothers. Wide-eyed, he clamped his hands over his mouth. Oh no. What would Tristen say to him about his parents?

Tristen had taken it all in a stride, he hadn't even noticed the blunder. Like he cared if his mother was a lesbian, he was bisexual. He blinked at the boy. "Are you alright?" Erylia poked him. "Yeah, wat he say."

Nibbling his lip, he finally took his hands down from his mouth. "I'm not supposed to tell yet," he mumbled bashfully, looking disappointed in himself. "Mommy didn't want me to tell anyone yet, especially other people's mommies and daddies." The couple had good reason to be concerned about how they'd be received by the other guardians. Humanoids could be very prejudicial and narrow-minded. "Please don't tell her I said anything."

He blinked. "Tell what? That she's seeing another female?" Tristen shook his head and opened another cupboard. "Alright, I wont tell her, but it shouldn't be something that she has to hide." "I'm...confused" her face was scrunched up as she tried to think. What was going on now?

"She's worried about what other mommies and daddies will think." He chewed his lip, growing nervous. "She told me that in some places, I'd have to be extra careful because someone would take me away if they found out about my mommy and Xanthippe." He grabbed Tristen when he came close enough because he was warm and protective. "I don't want anyone to take me away."

Abandoning his quest to get out whatever was in the cupboard, Tristen scooped up the child in both arms. "I understand Hyacinthus." He spoke softly, using the gentle voice he reserved for talking to Sunny or his two daughters. "Your mother seems nice. But trust me...we are not like the people outside of the island. Sure, there are some prejudices, but no gaurdian or pae would take you away from your mothers. It is even possible for two female or two male pae to breed." He chuckled. "I myself are bisexual and proud of it." Erylia laid onto the countertop, watching them sleepily. What was bisexual? Why would the same gender want to breed with eachother? She yawned. No sense...

Tristen was so soft and calming that the little pae child cuddled up to his chest. He closed his eyes, burying his face in the adult's chest. It was hard because he didn't feel like his mother's, but it still felt so nice. Hyacinthus liked how Tristen smelled. Every person had a different smell that the pae child eventually picked up on with enough time around them. Some scents, like that of his mother and Xanthippe, were very soothing. Scent was a powerful link to memory. The little boy smiled up, already very trusting of his new friend. "Do...do you think that you can tell them about that?" He didn't like being so secretive about his parents, and he didn't like seeing them act nervous when they met other guardians for even a few minutes.
