Rein stood up at the same time as Xalaharo, seeming eager to get out of the classroom. "Goodbye Miss Lillian and Miss Janessa...see you whenever I see you next" he said, heading to the door.
Xalaharo was a little slower to the door than Rein was, but said the same type of thing.

"Good bye to you too."She smiled."Are the rest of you going to? or do you all have more questions?"
Tomoyo wasn't sure about the entire thing. It didn't sound much like a superhero thing.'An assignment in the Main Dorm? What type of assignment would require our observant skills?'"Amy, do you want to begin that assignment with me now?"
Jemima stood up slowly. She wasn't liking the way their school year was going to be like. It seemed pretty painful.'I hope i'll live through this.'"Miss Janessa? Will there be--uh nevermind."
Janessa looked at Jemima.'Such a hard life. Orphaned. Living on her own. No one to talk to. It seems she's got a liking for Lillian. That's good for her. Someone to care about can always help bring in the better power. It's someone to live for.'She smiled and nodded to her as she watched Jemima leave the room.

Lillian came back with the water at about the time Janessa was talking about the Mall Points.
Amy nodded to Tomoyo's question, seeming a bit absent. She was immensly curious about the corners, the assignment, and most everything else that Miss Janessa had spoken of, but couldn't bring herself to ask any questions.
Jon's thoughts about the school year were even graver than before. He didn't like the idea of his being special, different than all the other students except these ten. He didn't want to have to prove himself, and more than anything, he didn't want to fail. Especially to his sister. She's younger, she's handicapped, and somehow she's more than doubly strounger than me in her powers... I don't want anyone to find out... He thought as he left the classroom, saying nothing.
Tanisha shrugged at the assignment. It couldn't be much harder than what she's been through already. She's been toughened by the streets, by her dysfunctional family, by the various foster homes and schools where girls and boys alike fought for what they needed. She had infact been toughened so much, she had bottled up what was left of her insecurity, attatchments and emotions deep inside her. What most people saw of her was only a shell, hiding her true self. Glancing around at the remaining students, she stood up to go head to the Main Dorm, purpously not even so much as glancing at Seth.

Janessa watched them go as she thanked Lillian for the water."See you later."She looked at Seth, Tomoyo, Jemima, and Amy."Any questions? Or do you feel like hanging around a class room?"She looked at Miss Lillian."Well. I'm heading to the auditorium. I have some business there to check up on."She nodded to the students and left.
Jemima was feeling a little better now that she found Miss Lillian back in the class. She got up and went over to her."Miss Lillian? Can I..ask you something?"Her face flushed.
Tomoyo stood up and gently pulled on Amy's arm."Come on. We've gotta find out what's going on before everyone else!"She smiled encouragingly.
Seth stood up and pondered.'I'm going to see how far everyone else got in searching for our assignment...Some place that we can go into? Perhaps a secret room?'He left the room leaving Miss Lillian, Jemima, Amy, and Tomoyo left in the class.

Lillian nodded and smiled gently. 'Yes dear, anything, and I'll try my best to answer it."
Amy seemed to snap back to reality as Tomoyo pulled on her arm. "Yeah.. We better hurry." She smiled, though it was false, and stood up to go.

Tomoyo left the classroom with Amy in tow.
Jemima felt a bit more courageous now that they were the only ones left in the room."Miss Lillian? Will you--you be my big sister? I've always wanted one! And you're the nicest lady i've ever met! Not that Miss Janessa isnt too...it's just that she's more of an aunt type. Will you? Please?"Her eyes were shiny with hope.

Lillian was a bit suprised at the question, it caught her very much off gaurd, and her mind went back to a time long ago, when she was about Jemima's age, and reopened wounds that had never quite healed...
She was 14, and had just saved up enough baby-sitting money for a new party dress, her birthday party was in two days. She was the second oldest of seven children, ranging in age from 16 to a newborn baby, a little girl named Jamie, short for something, though her mother never said what it was short for. Lillian was often the one caring for the baby, her older brother wrapped up in his sports, her parents busy, they were both important members of the community, her dad the mayor and her mom on the board of homeowners, all her younger siblings werent trusted with the job of caring for little Jamie. Lillian loved Jamie dearly, and they both had something in common, apart from their silver hair, that Lillian kept from her family - Their strange abilities.
Lillian spent long days up in her's and the baby's room, training herself and her younger sister in their abilities, mastering them as best they could. They practiced for hours, quietly so as not to arouse suspicioun. Lillian's father was very opposed to the wormwood 'theories' as they were back then, of people having strange powers on drinking it. He sucsessfully persecuted those who claimed to have the strange abilities, placing them in mental institutes and similar places, all with the support of the town.
Lillian was careful in keeping their secret from her father and the rest of the family, but not careful enough. One afternoon, the sun hot in the small room, Lillian was helping Jamie overcome a certain obstacle with her abilities, when her father came softly up the stairs, coming to check on Jamie and Lillian, as any good father would. With just one peek through the crack in the door, he came flying in in a rage, yelling profanities, and snatched up little Jamie. Lillian screamed, Jamie cried, Lillian desperately tried to get her sister out of her father's arms, but to no avail. Her father left the house in a frenzy, and came back hours later, late into the night - without Jamie. Lillian never found out what happened to Jamie
Two days later, on Lillian's birthday, the family had Jamie's 'burial', though the tiny casket was empty. After that, Lillian became isolated from the rest of her family, gradually spending more time at her aunt's house, where she became a 'proper young lady, fit to be in society', as her stuffy aunt said....
The question bothered Lillian immensly, but she didn't show it. She only smiled sweetly, "I'd love to be your big sister,"

Jemima glowed with happiness. She leapt giving Miss Lillian a hug."Thank you! Thank you. Thank you!"Though Jemima was about 15 years old she totally didn't act like it. She felt like a kid no matter how tall or old she got. She was a late bloomer which explained her own young voice.'She'll be just like that girl I remember a long time ago...'
((dude!! What's up with all of us creating siblings amoung the students?!?! whee Though i'm really enjoying the idea...It's just uncanny. wink ))
