Selene had mounted Rannoch and let him run. They soon reached the Lake, just to see several people gathered there. It looks like they are busy at the moment, I will just come back later. she thought

Fiacha nodded. "I will see you around, then." she said before turning back to her dragon, who had risen above the water to view them.

Wave scowled at the Weyrwoman's words, and her scowl grew and what Devrayn said. Cheeky guy. "I still don't see why Trementh likes you." she snapped out. "Now get on." she told him.

Your rider is skeptical, as is mine. I will reserve judgement until I know him better. Hopefully I will see you around, Trementh.

Necia had gotten the low down from Piroth, and watched the Rebel boy closely. "Nevermind, I know who he is. Is Fiacha sure that this is a good idea?"

Her sharp words only made his grin grow wider. "As you wish, my dear." Oh, but that's about as cheeky as he would get while standing still, for he was quick to jog up and leap up onto the offered forearm of the scarlet dragon, swinging himself up onto her neck. Hm... another jab? Sure. "Maybe dinner then?"

Trementh nodded to the other Scarlet, but didn't respond. She was sending thoughts to Devrayn, which she kept hidden from Wave as her rider climbed on.

Don't push her too much.

Wave gave Trementh the signal, and then they were flying back to the Bowl. When they arrived, Trementh let her passengers off before winging to her weyr ledge for some sun. "Come on, you, lets find you some clothes, and then a room so you can wash."

"Fiacha..." Vanecia began, then she simply sighed and shook her head. "Nevermind. I'm sure you know what you're doing. Good day, Weyrwoman, C'nor." Leaping astride her own Scarlet with a grace born only from practice, the two were airborn before anymore could be said, and easily winging their way back to the near-by Weyr.

Candidate Kaivani, on the other hand, was sitting against a wall on one of the lower levels, refusing to look over the edge at the frightening sight. Being afraid of heights probably wasn't the best trait for a dragonrider to have.

Dear me, that is a long way down, I'm sure. I don't even want to know. Feeling dragons approaching, Kai looked up, shielding her eyes with her hands. That feels like... a Scarlet. No, two. Oh, how I wish I could hear dragons too, speak with them even, instead of just sensing them. Still, it could be worse. I could be like most people and have nothing. Hence why I should probably keep my mouth shut. Smiling at the blip of red coming in fast, Kai couldn't help the awe she always got at seeing and "feeling" a dragon; it was truly something that could take her breath away.

She's overly-calm; the both of them are, Kai noticed with a frown, That's rare for Scarlets. Their riders must be angry about something that they don't feel the same way about. But what?

Satesch walked casually down the hallway, biting into the fruit he had just stolen from the kitchen.

Too easy. I'll have to move to something harder next time.

Seeing bright light- a door outside most likely-, he headed for it, stepping outside with only a slight wince as he looked down over the edge, and then up. Blinking at the two dots, he shaded his eyes and peered at them, trying to make out what color they were.

Kai glanced sharply at the new arrival, but he didn't notice her; his eyes were too pinned to the approaching Scarlets.

As one landed and two passengers got off, Satesch frowned. Kai couldn't help a sigh as the dragon went off to sun- she really wished that she could hear dragons. Just feeling dragons could actually be an annoyance sometimes. She could sense when one was near or approaching, what their mood was, and what color they were, but she couldn't actually speak to them. Shards, unlike HADs, they probably didn't even know that she existed. And knowing fate, HADs turned out to be the most obnoxious, rude people you could ever meet.

Hearing the sigh, Satesch whirled about, wondering why he hadn't been able to pick up on her. "Hello...." He was wary of this girl who had evaded his internal radar, but after a quick once-over, he realized how pretty- not beautiful or stylish, but pretty- she was and relaxed slightly.

Shifting to get more comfortable, Kai met Satesch's eyes and inclined her head slightly, once. "Hello."

After a pregnant silence he realized she wasn't going to speak again, just keep staring at him, so he shifted uncomfortably and looked away. "So... been here long, Miss...?"

"Kaivani. Just Kaivani will be fine." She smiled warmly at him. "And you are...?"

"Satesch, out of Igen Hold." He grinned charmingly, always willing to get in the good graces of a pretty girl. "Are you a Candidate, Kaivani?"

"I am." Her eyes didn't move as the Scarlet began descending and she realized why it had seemed so familiar to her mind's eye. "I will assume the same of you since you are so far from home, Candidate Satesch."

The grin widened. "Just Satesch."

Kai felt her heart flutter slightly and she smiled as well. "Of course, Satesch."

Now.

All of a sudden Piroth let out a mini-bellow from right behind Satesch, causing the boy to fall over as he tried to whirl about, shocked.

Kai let out a peal of laughter, and Vanecia- who had given the mental order to Piroth to do that- laughed as well.

Satesch sat up, staring at the large Scarlet staring at him, her eyes whirling with laughter, and then at her rider and Kai, who was squeaking something fierce.

"That wasn't funny!"

"Oh yes, it was," Kai gasped out, grinning broadly. "I don't remember the last time I saw something so amusing."

Satesch glared at Kai first, then the dragon and rider.

"Hey Kai, come on down to the Bowl and meet me," Vanecia offered, jerking her head to the side.

"Sure, Ness. Be right down." Kai stood, brushing off the back of her breeches and grinned down at Satesch, who had yet to move. "Sorry, Satesch, but the look on your face... priceless."

Satesch glared at the retreating girl, cursing himself. That was the second time today he hadn't sensed someone- third if you count the rider- and that wasn't good. Deciding that training was in order, he stalked off in the direction Kai had to practice. Things like that could kill him.

*Two teens no more than 16 turns stand in the Weyr's main room. The young dragonrider that had lead them in had just finished telling Fiacha the weyrwoman how he had found the two teens trying to make their way around the Rebel's camp.

Slowly the young man stepped forward and bowed low in a respectful greeting. Even through the sweat and dirt that clung to him he seemed regal, noble even. He seemed to have a strong spirit. HE was 6 foot 2 easily with shockingly blond hair and amazing blue eyes. His face is soft and round and his build broad and strong.*

Good day to you my Lady. I am Lacrim and this is my sister Lowisa. We are honored to meet you.

*Lowisa, also very blond with the same blue eyes and round face steps forward. She however was much shorter and had a very slender frame. Slowly she bowed low the suddenly she dropped to the floor in a heap.*

Isa!
*he rushes over to his sister and lifts her thin frame into his arms* Lowisa! Lowisa! Please my lady my sister needs to see a healer right away! Please, please Lowisa is all the family I have left! This large strong young man was no his knees begging for help and he looked as if he was about to cry as he held her to him close*

Fiacha smiled at the two. They had just been brought in, it seems. As she was about to reply to the male of the two, his sister collapsed. She immediatly sent for the healers, who quickly came and took her away. "Don't worry. She will be in good hands. She'll be fine. She is probably just tired, is all." Fiacha told Lacrim, laying a comforting hand on his shoulder.

*Lacrim tried to regain his composure and stood to his feet as the healer and several others carry Lowisa off* we can never thank you enough my lady. I will forever be in your debt for the kindness you have shown to my sister. *With another bow he turns and follows the healer and Lowisa*

Emerging from the midsts of between, an enormous brown dragon appeared just over the lush, valley floor and softly glided upon the soft winds as they pressed onwards to the Weyr. Upon first glance one would not be so mesmorized by the sight of a brown yet this one was different. Unique to Shining Weyr were dragons of a new mutation with rare assortments of colors. Unlike other dragons one can gaze upon at other Weyrs the brown was swayed and swirled with white as well, a two toned dragon as the appearance was commonly recalled as.

Xalenth bugled a low cry as he announced his presence of his rider's return or in hopes to bespeak any nearby dragon to locate the whereabouts of where everyone was. The Weyr usually was bustling yet it seemed as if everyone had departed or something of intrest and curiosity had risen.

Who is here at Shining?

Stryder looke perplexed yet relieved as the Weyr's current state would allow both rider and dragon to relax and rejuvinate from a long flight back from Benden. One sevenday every turn, the young two toned rider would retreat back to Benden in helping to maintain the strength of their wings by aiding in threadfall. Out of countless turns, it was this fall that was most devastating and time consuming.

"Well, at least will be able to rest from our flight though I'd wish to see everyone else." Stryder commented as she whisped her jagged bangs away from her sight, tucking them under her tattered and scorched riders helmet.

Zalenth rumbled softly as his eyes whirled with comfort. In time, Strydermine. We must rest before we can socialize or roam round the Weyr.

Smiling as she caressed the browns' eyeridge, Stry peered into his swirling orbs. "Of course Zally."

Sweeping up towards the entrance of the Weyr, Zalenth began to slowly backwing to land atop the rugged terrain. As the brown steadily fell upon all fours and gazed about in a curious manner, Stryder stepped down from his neck and slide down the forleg and leapt onto the ground. The two toned rider planned on personally searching the Weyr in any hopes of finding someone.

Waverly was making her way back out. That boy! How she wanted to strangle him! He was a cheeky one, that he was. And Trementh liked him! She couldn't understand why, but the Scarlet wouldn't tell her when she asked. And she had asked politely too! A shadow passed over head, jerking her from her thoughts. She looked up to see a dragon coming in. A Brown-White. Oh, it was Stryder. Wave thought that she had been in the same hatching that Trementh had come from, but she couldn't quite remember.

(Chase- No offense honey, but I had no idea what you said in your first post.... stare )

Both Kai and Neci looked up as a shadow flew over them, pausing in their chat to see the brown-white dragon, though neither was startled, each having their own way of knowing that the rider had just come from between.

"Who is it?" Kai asked curiously, since the dragon- being two-toned- felt different form normal, or even other mutation dragons.

"It must be Zandeth and Stryder."

"Stryder?"

"Oh, yes. She's the only rider of a two-toned brown that I know of. Want to go say hello? I think Wave is going to go visit too." Necia motioned to Waverly, who was watching the brown come in for a landing.

"I... don't know." Kai was unsure. Although Neci had never asked, Kai still wasn't sure whether or not dragons sensed her differently than other humans. Piroth could just be being polite and keeping her secret- although that wasn't exactly a Scarlet trait, it was a dragon one- and she didn't know if another dragon would be so closed-lipped.

Zandeth! You have returned! Where have you been? Piroth asked, raising herself up slightly and turning to look at the brown.

"Aw, it'll be fine, she's a nice girl. Come on, come on." Linking her arm with Kai's, Necia walked over to Stryder with a bounce in her step. "Rider Stryder! The rhyming dragonrider, how are you?"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 12, 2005 9:26 pm

Upon hearing the familiar title that had suited her well in a rhyming state, Stryder pivoted as she looked upon Waverly, Necia and a young woman whom she was unfamiliar with but hopefully she would be able to make her acquaintance. Beaming a radiant smile as she tipped her rider's helmet upwards, the two-toned brownrider strided towards them without a moment to lose.

"Necia!" She exclaimed as it felt like a turn since she had last seen her, "I'm well and It feels so good to be back at Shining at last. Benden's fall was awful but at least I'm home and without a scratch." Withdrawling her rider's helmet from atop her head as its jagged and razored pieces fall atop her head in its usual messy attire, she sighed in relief to finally not have such a burden atop her head.

Zalenth bellowed in a playful manner at Piroth, his eyes whirling with excitement as he too was glad to be home. With a flare of his nostirls the brown leapt towards the scarlet.

Stryder and I went back to Benden to assist in threadfall. They needed more strength so we heeded their call and honored our roots but now all that matters is that we are home at last.

"So has there been anything I've missed in the past sevenday?" Anxious to hear if anything intresting had occured at the Weyr, Stryder looked over to Kai and smiled warmly as she extended her right hand outwards.

"I don't believe we met. I'm Stryder, or Stry, rider of two-toned brown Zalenth. It's a pleasure to meet you."
