"I think I heard Selurnis say before that they bred those Songstresses all the time. We could just take this one out and leave everyone else out of it."
He was making a huge ball of fire as he spoke, ready to attack the group of people in front of the Songstress to get to taking her down.

"What... When have I...?" she couldn't remember having ever mentioned anything to Audyhnnh about the people of this city, much less have said anything about the Songstress.
For the most part, she had lost her memories since her death. She could remember the basics of the functions of Mervillian society, but she couldn't remember the details. All she knew was that she used to be one of them...

She screamed at the top of her lungs at the sight of her people being brutally injured and possibly killed. It took her all will to keep from running up to Audyhnnh and stopping him. If she touched him, she would only pass through him, and that usually resulted in his blacking out.

"Too slow."
He muttered rather as-matter-of-factly to himself and flung one hand to the side. Suddenly, half the people standing in front of the Songstress were thrown to the side by a shower of fireballs thumping on them from out of no-where.

The Songstress was shocked to see them come so close to her and the dismay showed on her grave expression. That shocked expression turned quickly into an angry one and she sang again, loudly, causing the ground to rumble beneath their feet.
Part of the ground where Tavin and Audyhnnh had been standing on began to collapse and pillars raised irregularly out of the ground, knocking into them. The part of the ground the Songstress was standing on rumbled and shifted back, taking most of her troupe with her.

"GODDAMN IT!!" he cursed, having been thrown off his feet.
That certainly didn't go the way he'd planned. Now they were even further away from the Songstress, and the ground was not too irregular to move fast on.
"Sh**...!" he hissed, "I forgot they could control the elements sometimes with their songs..."

"I don't suppose there's a fast way I can just run up to her and punch her lights out, huh?" he grumbled to himself.
He could already see his ghostly friend cringing on the side. He sighed and rubbed his hands together, creating dark, deep red flames in both hands.
Quickly chanting a spell, two wings of fire on his ankles lifted him off the ground, and he ran blindly through the crowd of people towards the Songstress.

The people who were set up as a defense around the Songstress appeared to panic, despite no change in the singing. As he ran through the crowd, the armed people attacked him with the staves and knives with which they were armed, attempting to stop him before he reached the Songstress. The Songstress sang another song of ground collapse, again raising pillars of earth, trying to knock down both Tavin and Audyhnnh.

He grunted as he could feel the knives cut through him, and the staves staked him. But not only did it not stop him, it didn't even slow him down.
He jumped into the air as the ground collapsed around him, and landed right on top of the Songstress, strattling her.
"You..." he hissed, wrapping his hands around her throat. Black streaks of smoke came from his hands and the Songstress struggled for a moment, then her eyes rolled into the back of her head and her hands fell limp to her sides...

Though the Songstress was dead, her powers were still at work. The people saw the opportunity, as Audyhnnh had already jumped into the middle of the mob, and they came at him from all sides, tearing at his flesh like a pack of hungry hyenas.

*Tavin finished at that very second, and the glowing script in the air disappeared. For a long excruciating moment, everything was silent. Then, suddenly, the air began to move, and it quickly began to gain strength. Within mere moments, the air had funneled into a full fledged tornado, sucking up people and objects. Tavin leapt towards Audyhnnh, hoping that he wasn't too late*
Hang in there.... We're getting the HELL out of here....
