No joke, the freakin' ruby, saphire, and emerald weapons. HUGE pain in the a**, but an optional one. Second in line is Jenova (meteor).

the only way i beat ruby IF i can remember it right.... I am pretty sure that i had tifa use manipulate a certain amount of times in other battles and then i went and picked a fight with ruby. I DO remember this clearly. As soon as i started the fight Tifa started whaling on ruby about 30 or 40 times before anybody else could even attack once. I THINK thats how i achieved that miracle.

the materia keeper was hard for me at first and the demon wall because i hated to fight with aeris

I know this is completely off topic, but it is AERITH not aeris... I hate people that make that mistake...

It's not really a big deal... You know, for nearly a decade the official English spelling was Aeris, so... yeah, I prefer Aerith too, but it's not like it's calling her the completely wrong name. Considering how Japanese works, calling Aerith more right than Aeris is like comparing Boco and Boko... It's a translation issue, and translation is more of an art than a science.

And you really have no right to complain when you keep saying "genova."

Beating the demon wall isn't so tough if most of your people are at least at level 30. Aeris' Healing Wind and Cure2 All are practically necessary for this fight. The key is to never use offensive magic (ie. ice, fire2) because they are completely useless, and Bahamut is the only Summon that deals good damage. Having Climhazzard here can really cut through the boss's health fast and keeping your party in the back row will prevent your them from succumbing to the falling rock move (not Cave-in).

Carry Armor, however is a pain in the a**. Immiediately unleash all your strongest Summons, again keeping your party in the back row, while using magic like Comet on one of its arms until that arm is destroyed. If the remaining arm manages to snag a character, abandon them and focus all your power on the boss's main body. But you're screwed if the healer is snagged. Howling Moon and Meteor Rain are both trump cards in this fight.

With Ruby Weapon, an effective method is to start the battle with two people dead and have the last party member cast Pheonix so that Ruby doesn't use quicksand on them. Mimic-ing Omnislash is a nice move.

emerald weapon was the only boss that gave me a game over, everyone else was a joke! 4laugh

Ruby was tough, but Emerald takes the cake. This is without the playstation door glitch and all. The regen strategy is cheating.

Emerald gets more attacks than any other weapon. Aside from that, he has an attack that takes you down in both MP and HP. Having one of both HP and MP after only 1 attack is pretty hard to get around.

Emerald was just a powerhouse. I hated him. I beat Ruby without to much trouble.
