I'm impressed, I didn't thought that French would be a popular language to learn.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow! Je suis impressionné de voir que le français était populaire à apprendre. Je ne pensais pas que c'était le cas.
crying i want to join the french foreign legion, i could learn french as i join bit by bit or i can just learn now. so i need to lern.

my question: seriously.... which part of this guild can realy help speak french? crying i've seen minor words, and a single part lesson. i see nothing else.

Most people in this guild are already taking French class at school. I think very few people who actually intend to learn French without French classes, are here.

Sano Parmandil
Wouldn't it be because he is still watching you? If you use the imperfect, it would mean "he had been watching you for years", I think.

By the way, I have a question. I know that "play the piano" is "jouer du piano", but how one could say "he played a sad music at the piano"? "il a joué une musique triste du piano"? Would it be "au piano"?

Your second guess it right. The translation would be:

He played a sad music at the piano. = Il a joué une musique triste au piano.

Hi,

Can any one tell me how to tranlate in english the imparfait of vouloir

I was on a site that gave you the english tranlation, but I'm having trouble with the imparfait : je voulais was transulated as I wanted, but

the passe compose : j' ai voulu is also transulated as I wanted. I'm confused. Could some one show me how to use the imparfait for the word Vouloir in a sentence and its translation.

Je voulais
Tu voulais
Il/Elle/On voulait
Nous voulions
Vous vouliez
Ils/Elles voulaient

Hier, je voulais manger des carottes.
Yesterday, I wanted to eat carrots.

You can't translate like that. There is no such thing in English as imparfait and passe compose. You can't compare.
Follow Kurosaki Asami advice wink

yes you can't compare french and english conjugation.
In french you can use both passé composé and imparfait to speak to the past.

imparfait is used for long actions or descriptions.
passé composé is used for quick actions.

example :
I wanted this cat.
in french you can say :
* je voulais ce chat = imparfait = I wanted this cat since I've seen it.
* j'ai voulu ce chat = passé composé=I wanted this cat when I saw it.
