Enigma Master Andrew !L E E S A Ryusuke Mitsurugi Gilco There will always be black issues. You just gotta come up with ones that people have different opinions on. Hmmm lets see if I can think of a few. -Should "To Kill a Mocking Bird" and "Huckleberry Fin" be allowed to be read in schools? (I think no. They are horrible books and that is like trowing all those white students into the deep end. They just read the book and get no more information on other issues. All it does it make the black students in the class uncomfortable) -Should America(and Canada since they had slavery too I gueess. Not that they will admit it.) officially apologise for the slave trade? -All these super, super star blacks. Are they even "black anymore"? Like now opera is not even black to me. She is opera. No one even thinks of her race. I remember watching To Kill a Mockingbird in school. I hated white people for a week. No. Slavery is over and done with. Everybody needs to stop blaming their trouble on something that happened two centuries ago and move on with their lives. Of course they're black. When did they turn White? Are you saying they're not black because they're wealthy. And personally, I fear Oprah.... eek Lol. We watched Roots in school in June. I hated white people for the rest of the year xp . Slavery is not over and done with. Because the effects of slavery are still here today. God jewish people got apologies for the Holocaust. The Japanese-americans got apologies for the Holocaust. Black people can't get an apology for slavery? Seriously. And that is annoying how people relate success and intelligence to whiteness. It bothers the hell outta me. Ryusuke Mitsurugi Yeah, at least Virginia is making amends. I wish there was some holiday celebrating the end of slavery. I wouldnt work or go to school at all that day. But then again, it wont happen because most black people pick too many random days to take off. I say slap the little bast**d. Then he would stop using the word. Yeah, its kinda of sad that we're only ones talking about something real. Heh, it kinda reminds you of something, huh? confused stare Isn't the holiday for the end of slavery Juneteenth? It's like June 16 or 17 if I remember correctly. It's a holiday, but no one celebrates it. I'm honestly about to PM everyone in this group and tell them to go post. Damn I post more than the captains and s**t. Correction: You post more in this thread than the Captains... wink But the holiday for the end of slavery thing is new to me. Actually, I think she posts more than every other member in the guild as of today.

Ack, sorry for hte lack of posting. Internet went kapoot. crying -Ahem- I better start typing eh? Sorry Ryusuke Mitsurugi, I don't think I made my third point clear enough. When I said "are they even black anymore"(or something like that) I ment that they have sort of made a category for themselves. I cannot relate to them as black individuals anymore due to their stardom. I never meant that they left thier "black" behind or became white. I just meant that when you look at them do you see a black woman or do you see a superstar? Yeah and Operah scares me too. I'm stil jealous of her million$ hair. I swear people probably take turns watching over it. Haha. I don't know if the official apology is necessary. I think that it should be in thier actions. Me hearing some souther state say "ummmmm sorry what we did to y'all" is not going to help me at all. What will help me is better schools in the poorer dominantly black neighborhoods. What will help is better attention towards the suffering minority groups better help for the immigrants. Do those things and I will feel your sincerity a while lot more than with an apology. With the books I think that if you are going to read them you need to dedicate a while to talk about all of the issues surrounding them. Mainly in Canada. Did you know you could get a university degree in Canadian history without knowing there was slavery here? That is outrageous. If the school systems want to educate children on these matters do it properly or don't do it at all. I don't mind being one of a few posters. smile It keeps out people with less than valid things to say...no offense or anything. stare Interracial dating? I don't have a problem with it but I will probably end up with a black person due to the fact that they could probably relate to me all the better. I have nothing against men of other races and if I did I would be just as bad as the people out there who go around saying that black men will knock you up and leave you. Ick, my hand hurts from typing too much. I think thete are like a million typos in there too.

Ryusuke Mitsurugi Ok Ok. So you dont like interracial dating. That was no reason to let the thread die. crying Actually, what a coincidence. The reason why I wasn't posting was because I went on a 4-day trip (kinda like camp?). And on the trip, I got a crush on this white boy from Maine... that I'll never see again crying . But I've had crushes on many nationalities. I have no problem with interracial dating... my cousin had a baby with a korean guy. The only problem I have is when some black men will ONLY go after blonde white girls, or when innocent-looking white girls ONLY go after tough looking black guys. Or if the reason you won't date a black girl is because, "they all have attitudes". That's bullshit. The love should be blind, it shouldn't be just because it's a certain skin color. Enigma Master Andrew Correction: You post more in this thread than the Captains... But the holiday for the end of slavery thing is new to me. Lol.... hey how you doing...? sweatdrop Maybe I'll watch what I say?

So when I see a black celebrity, I just see a black person everybody knows of. As far as letting actions speak louder than their words, I agree with you. That's some racy language you have going on there Ryusuke Mitsurugi. Not good. Canadian you say? Well alot of them here are painfully ignorant to things like that. I've seen people datng people primarily on thier race from occasion to occasion but not that often. Maybe instead of hanging up you could have educated her? But I don't know her, maybe she is the type not to listen and you did the right thing. When people think blacks are better then everyone else I just laugh because that is the exact same and white supremacy. There are suprsingly many blacks like that though. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that when when someone says "don't be white man!" or something everyone agrees and there is no one to set them straight.

I'm not racist in that I do love and will be friends with anyone who wants to be, but I'm maybe paranoid in that ever since my neighbors moved away from us for being black, and my other neighbors calling the police on us for throwing a small party even though other neighbors threw this huge road-blocking party with no cop calls, and my science teacher telling me that "all bad things come from africa", and white people every single day coming up to me talking about fried chicken and africa (as a small country instead of a continent) and watermelons, I might be racist in thinking that most people's thoughts are race-based. But not everyone I know is like that. But I get irritated a little sometimes? Anyways, I hate when people expect you to act like a stereotype. I got this book called Black Comedians on Black Comedy, and it said that a lot of black people back in the day couldn't get acting work because they didn't sound/talk "black" enough. And what was most ironic was that the standard "black" voice that people in showbusiness wanted in their movies were stereotypical voices basically created by white people in black face. stare .

I get angry everytime I talk about her because she took everything I had to give and threw it away. What kind of person does that? I was anti-woman for a while after that happened. Don't mistake me, Im not saying all canadians are or do this. (K-OS and Jim Carrey are canadian and they rock!)I only brought it up because it just happened to relate. !L E E S A I'm not racist in that I do love and will be friends with anyone who wants to be, but I'm maybe paranoid in that ever since my neighbors moved away from us for being black, and my other neighbors calling the police on us for throwing a small party even though other neighbors threw this huge road-blocking party with no cop calls, and my science teacher telling me that "all bad things come from africa", and white people every single day coming up to me talking about fried chicken and africa (as a small country instead of a continent) and watermelons, I might be racist in thinking that most people's thoughts are race-based. Ryusuke Mitsurugi Come on now, you are letting this die again. Sorry, I only check this thread during my excel class. Anyways, I finally did it. I cracked. This kid, who ALWAYS says s**t about fried chicken, watermelon, corn bread, my hair, and says "Africa- ewww!" finally got to me. I threw a pen at him then started cussing him out. I was like "I swear to God Im'ma punch you in the face and bang your head against the wall if you don't SHUT THE F*** UP!! Shut the f*** up!" It was really unexpected, seeing as I was in a decent mood before he started talking. I'm not sure if my outburst was appropriate. Should I have been so bothered by it? I mean, fried chicken and watermelon obviously isn't only eaten by black people. But he acts like it is. So should I just have ignored him? And fyi, he wasn't the only one in the class saying that s**t. Other people in the class kinda encouraged him to say some of the s**t. But what do you think I should have done?

Exaggerate it to the point to where they're seen as racist. They wont do it again.
