"What the?" Ivy said, not waiting for Pens answer to her question. She had just seen a giant explotion from below her and she could feel the dark magic in the air. 'It must be that boy,' she thought, 'He was right!' Looking below her she could see they were quite high up. Biting her lip and her magic surging to her hands she jumped off of the dragons back.

She instantly realised what a stupid move that was and started to rack her brain for a spell she could use. When she found one she was coming up on the ground quickly. "Wings of the eagles" she called. Her magic formed on her back and gave her blue wings like the birds. Swooping down next to the fight scene she landed roughly, scratching up her whole side, but all she cared about was getting to Zar.

When she found him burns were appearing on his body as the acid started to burn his skin. Ivy swore and started magicaly removing them, but it was starting to take a toll on her. Sweat poured off her face as she hastily cleaned off more of the wounds. 'Please let him be alright, please!'

Pen gasped when she saw the explosion. She felt an insane urge to jump after Ivy before she remembered she didn't exactly have the ability to create wings of her own. She leaned over and spoke to Bael. "Let's set down and see if we can help." Pen realized she wouldn't be much help--she didn't carry a weapon and she had no magic or healing skills. 'Note to self- Pick up a decent weapon in the next town and learn how to use it,' she thought angrily.

When he came to, he opened his eyes, and saw a pair of gray eyes staring back at him. He felt a surge of happiness someone came to help him. He smiled and said weakly, "I told you there was a monster." When he started getting up, the reality of the fight caught up with him, and instead of happiness, all he felt was pain, all over his body, though it hurt less, as he saw that some burns were healed. He realized that she had helped him, "Thank..." and he fell down again.

((Sorry for my absense! To make up for it, it's time to "randomly" run into someone!))

The world was a blur around Odik, and nothing was any easier to identify from the next. But the tremor that had shook the ground did not need to be seen to be known.

"Dare someone harm the wood?!" The giant shaman raced down the path that lead to the shrine. "Quite the coincidence that the explosion happened to be along my trail."

Odik stopped at the clearing edge, his mouth agape and his fists trembiling with rage.

Daggers had been thrown and had missed their mark by the look of them protruding from tree a few feet away, deep imprints of hooves had altered the land scape into the appearance of an explosion strewn battle field, and countless limbs of a giant, heairy beast littered every stertch of remaining grass.

Worst of all, thick, acid-like liquid had splattered everywhere, leaving patches of grass bare and stripping bark of the trees that had been caught in the nova of blood.

Odik's tear filled eyes fell upon two humans laying in the center of the catastrophe, a young girl kneeling over a young elf-looking man. Odik didn't know, having rarely seen one at the village.

With his voice trembling with rage, he said, "Who....Who has done this...To the trees? The leaves and grass? Who has brought this unjustice to the wood that harbours so many?!" Odik roared and a swarm of deep green motes entered his muscled arms making them bulge to monstrous proportions and leaving a deep glow in his eyes. "Tell me....Or your life will be forfeit!"

Ivy looked up, and upon seeing the bear, her eyes shone with fear. She was magicaly drained; having to prevent Zar from dying had been her number one priority. Since her magic was conected with her physical energy she knew she wouldn't be able to fight this new threat. Hell, she probably wouldn't be able to stand up after what she had just done.

"Please, sir," Ivy said, a strain on her to even talk, "My name is Ivy, and next to me is Zar. I were traveling through these woods when me and my companions happened upon Zar. He warned us of a giant monster, a Belgog, and when we didn't heed his warning he went to destroy the beast for us. Zar managed to slay the beast but at a price, as you can see. Please forgive us, I subject myself to whatever needs to be done to help return this forest to its splendor." Ivy bowed her head, the sweat dripping off. There was nothing more she could do.

Pen watched the giant bear appear. She watched intensely. Feeling useless still, she did the only thing she was good at. She pulled out a leather-bound journal and started recording the battle. Her hand trembled as she wrote.

"...the monster was finally slain, but it's mysterious slayer was nearly destroyed in the process. Ivy, the cloaked sorceress, was quick to assist..."

"You wish to right this wrong? You wish to undo the damge your friend has done to the forest?!" These words only magnified the rage that was apparent on the trembling figure of Odik. "Only time will repair this cataclysmic damage you have brought upon the wood!!"

He roared and legions of green motes errupted from every remaning tree, every remaning trace of green left in the clearing in an infurriated flurry as if they were bees of a threatened hive. "AND YOU DARE THINK YOU CAN REPAIR THIS DAMAGE?! INSOLENCE!!" His voice boomed and flecks of green emerged from miles away and entered the clearing with the same rage apparent in the others.

"YOUR BONES WILL PROVE FERTILE FOR THE SEEDLING TO GROW!" The motes began to circle the girl at an alrming rate, spiking with the anger of the trees that still lived in the clearing and stretched across the acres. "GO FOREST INCARNATE! LET THEIR BLOOD BE YOUR WATER AND THEIR INARDS YOUR SOIL!"

Petrified, Ivy's mind went blank. She could think of no spells, no protection for her and Zar. The only thing that ran through her mind was how it would have been best if she hadn't opened her mouth. Her hand was unconciously gripping Zar harder and harder. She summoned as much as her power as possible and used it to fully heal Zar, since she knew there was no way that she would be ably to fight the bear withough dying herself. Though by the looks of it, thats what she was going to be doing fairly soon.

Just when all hope was lost, Zar unconsciously floated upward and feathers were falling from behind his back. Small black angel wings were sprouting from his back. His wings of redemption. He then silently lifted Ivy into the air with him, not even feeling her tough grip. Time seemed to stop as the miracle was in motion. As he caried Ivy into the air, his strength was healing, but slowly. They floated together up to the clouds where he sat with her. Then he turned to her and stared with gratitude, but disbelief at what had just happened.

Ivy had her eyes closed the entire time. She felt her body lifting and she knew she had died. She felt a soft bump she opened her eyes and imediatly shrieked. Ivy started to cling harder as she looked down at the battle scene below. Somehow they had gotted up here, and, as she soon realised, they were very much alive. She looked at Zar shocked and tongue tied. "Wha-Wha-Wht just ha-happened?" She stuttered out, looking into Zars eyes.

It had taken a while, but all the strange things that were happening made Bael decide to fly down. He had no idea what happened to the elf and the gil that had been riding on him, and frankly he wasn't even sure he wanted to know. What he did know however was that the person down there would have to be calmed down. He circled around before he landed in the open area. He transformed back inte his humanoid shape without waiting for Pen to get off and walked over to the other person. "Calm yourself, or I can't be responisble for what will happen to you" Bael said with a serious, but not threathening, voice. He hoped he wouldn't fight, he loathed violence, but something had to be made.

After staring blankly at Ivy for a few seconds, he opened his mouth and then paused for another second. "The wings of redemption," he started in a trance-like voice, "are grown from shadow miracles. Only one in a billion shadow elves have the miracle of growing wings. To retrieve the wings, you must open your heart for even a split second and in your time of need, you will allow a helping hand, and in that moment, if a pure soul whos intentions are only to help you, you will be able to grow wings of redemption and hone the powers of the white wizard. But even then, you must have the miracle...Or so the myth goes."

He shook slightly and regained consciousness. Reaching behind his back and feeling the minute wings of which are still in sprouting, he stared at Ivy with grateful eyes. "Thank you."

"Oh, well, you're welcome," Ivy said still a little flustered. The color rose in her cheeks and not because she was worn from battle. All of this was becoming to much and she felt herself become light headed. Her vision started going fuzzy and the pain in her side that she had previously ignored came back full force. She moaned and grabbed her side, "Uhh...Zar, I'm going to borrow your shoulder..." She said leaning on his shoulder and closing her eyes, trying to supress the pain.

"GRAAAAAAAGH!!" Odik roared and more motes pured fmor the trees. The defeicators had escaped, and now this dragon man told him to "calm down" for the destruction they had caused. This could not go un-punished.

"INSOLENCE!!" Odik roared again and charged the dragon-man, claws raised to rend the scaly flesh of his new target. "THE FOREST WILL EXACT ITS VENGEANCE THROUGH ME!!" And the green swarm followed, spiking with the same anger as their summoner. With the boon of his forest incarnates assitance, Odik roared again and his muscles doubled in size and the glowing in his eyes became close to blinding. With his increased muscles, his dash increased in speed as well, leaving a cloud of upturned soil in his wake.

Pen picked herself up from the ground after having been dumped from Bael's back. She gazed in fearful awe at the bear. She felt frozen in place. Bael seemed unfazed when the bear began to change and Pen sensed something big was about to happen. Realizing she should probably get out of the way, Pen sprinted away to the nearest fallen burnt tree and hid behind it.
