*Mystina smiled* We do have death -- It just doesn't come for a long time. We live to be at least 5000 years old, sometimes far older. But we live very full lives... we also do not breed as easily as you humans, but we do not die as easily either.
*Mystina gave Luana's hand a soft squeeze and smiled, then she looked down at Aerie* Anytime you'd like to hold her you may... Sent got some food for her and has made it so we can feed her the breast milk without me winding up getting my breast cut up! *She laughed a little* He somehow figured she'd at least have his beautiful beak. *Mystina leaned over and kissed Aerie's beak, the child got what looked like as much of a smile as she could on her face* Then again he may have got that information from Tacitus, somehow. Tacitus is the God of Time. He can see all things in time, so he knew what our child would look like.
We also have no wars... it is a bit like Eden, there is no evil here and if there is we find out about it BEFORE it happens with out Magic... but it is rare that someone would commit an act of evil against us.... *She smiled* We also have magic to protect us against such things.
*They walked down the path and came not to the main building yet... but they were walking to a small hut along the way.*

((I'm sorry, but this really isn't working for me, so I'm changing my posting style from this point on.))
Different worlds might have different ways, but the idea of a different god or gods bothered her. Had she been brought into the Brink to fight against demons and false gods? She, whose faith had wavered so much in the past, and did so even today? Maybe when she got back to the Brink she would pray in her room for a while. Her guardian angel might even appear again to encourage her. For the moment she said nothing about it, not wanting to offend the Faerie.
Something else about what Mystina said did not seem quite right. "Rare, but not unheard of. Otherwise, why would Aerie need protection?"

*Mystina turned and smiled* Because, her birth chart showed things that... showed she'd grow to be very... *Mystina paused and leaned over to Luana, smiling* Important... Extremely important to the future of faerie.
She needs protection because I, as her mother, cannot always be there to help.If she were to get lost in the woods whom would help her? Who would hear her? No one. But if she called for someone the Unicorn whom she is bonded to will hear her, find her, and lead her back home.
There are other reasons... Many others... but she will bring about changes and some people do not take well to changes... She will go into the human world and she will need protection there, more than here. *Mystina smiled* Understand?

Luana nodded. She had never believed in Astrology, but in a magic-based society like this, it must be taken very seriously.
"I understand. You can't always trust humans."
They reached the hut and Luana looked uncertainly at Mystina. "What are we doing here?"

*Mystina smiled and knocked on the door* This is one of the small herb huts, it's placed here so as we walk back to the city we may stop and get some extra herbs for me, that way I do not wind up in pain or bleeding.
*She smiled as a woman who looked to be about 30 opened the door and motioned them both into the hut. Looks are decieving, Morgann is actually well over 3000 years old.* "Ahh, Princess, I have thy herbs here. What is thy name little one?" *She spoke to the child*
*Mystina unwrapped her dress around the babe and held her up, Morgann gasped.* "It's Aerie, Aerie Faven is her name." *The child's beak showed along with her feathery down, the hut didn't have much light but it was enough for her to tell.*
"She's..."
"Yes." Came Mystina's answer. The old woman didn't have to finish.
"From the Prophecies?"
"Yes... She is. She's half aven, which mean's she's mostly faerie... She meets the requirements."
Morgann nodded. Indeed she did. She turned around and grabbed a purse filled with herbs, she was very unsettled over the child. She handed the herbs to Mystina after the child was wrapped up again.
"A Blessing on thy child, Princess. May she be happy and healthy, and may all whom know Aerie gain from it. " She drew a sign in the air over the child and it began to glow, slowly floating down on top of her. The child gurgled happily.
"Also Morgann? This is Luana, she assisted me, she's a friend of mine. Aerie's Godmother."
Morgann smiled "Nice to meet thee, Luana."

Luana's eyes wandered through the shop as she listened to the conversation. It smelled like something similar to ginger and roses, but she could not identify any of the dried plants that hung from the walls as anything she had seen before.
She brought her full attention back to the conversation the instant she heard her name.
"A pleasure to meet you too, Morgann," Luana replied with a smile.

*Mystina smiled* Thank you Morgann, I'll take the herbs shortly and I'll see you at the Festival tonight?
"I shall look foreward to it. Will Luana be there as well?"
I'm not sure if she'll have to go home before the feast, but I hope she will be. *She smiled at Luana and opened the door* Thank you again Morgann!

Luana followed Mystina out and closed the door quietly behind her.
"A feast? Really? I'm guessing it's for Aerie. Am I dressed right for that kind of thing? I mean, I know what my parents would have me wear for one of their dinner parties..."

*Mystina giggled and smiled at Luana* You're dressed fine. And yes, it is for Aerie, though we have these kind of things very often, tonight is special for my people.
Aerie is considered a child who was told of us by the prophets, I only found this out after one pulled me aside once I was pregnant... I was informed that a child that was mostly faerie, but partially of another species that is not human, would come.
From the time she's small she's supposed to be brilliant, and is supposed to, with her Mother change things.
Most of the Faeries don't know about this but it's to be announced... I don't know how I feel about this prophecy, but I do know every single time someone has told us of a prophecy it has come true...
*She turned to Luana* I'm a bit scared, to be honest...

"What are you scared of?" She looked down at Aerie in her mother's arms. "Is something bad supposed to happen?"
Truth be told, a little bit of the worrie was for herself. She was a godmother now, after all, and if anything happened to Aerie's parents... No, Luana wasn't going to think about that. There was enough to worry about already.

*Mystina shook her head and sat down on a bench along the path, made of the same thing the houses were made of, and patted for Luana to sit with her*
Nothing bad will happen to her... Or to me... It's just going to be a huge responsibility. I'm afraid I may not be the best one for the job. She's going to have to be trained specially from a young age to control herself and her magic because she has it from two lines. I'm afraid that she might at some point get shunned, for her differences... Not here really... but in the Human world.
I intend to begin interfering with humans again, not just the ones who call for us... The ones who NEED us.
I don't know how they'll react to seeing someone as unique as her. What if they act out at her because she's not like other faeries in the human world?

"Well, I don't know what you believe, but..." She took a seat next to Mystina. "My Grossvati always told me that God never gives you a problem that you can't solve. If this prophecy of yours is true, then who could possibly be better for the job?"

*Mystina smiled and kissed Luana on the cheek* Thank you... You're right... It's just a bit scary being a new mother I guess, since it's all new territory for me... *She giggled* I just don't want to do anything wrong with her...
I knew I picked the right person to be Aerie's Godmother. *She smiled and looked down as the little one squirmed in her arms*

Some time later on they were walking down the path again. Mystina had convinced Luana to carry the baby for a while, and she slept in her godmother's arms as they went. Luana could hear her stomach growling, and there was a sweet sent on the air.
She sniffed. "What's that?"

*Mystina smiled at Luana and sniffed the air* Oh, I can't tell you, it's a surprize *She grinned, being playful now* It's actually a combination of some of our foods that they're preparing for the feast. *She smiled at her* They're still setting things up at this point, the feast will begin at nightfall.
You'll get to see magic, taste some of our foods, and see how we have our festivals. Being that you're not from here, you, along with Aerie and I will be considered the guests of Honor, so anything you want tonight you'll be allowed. *She smiled*
