Mel looked around curiously, still tugging on his arm childishly as she looked for where to go. She then reached her hand forward and pointed towards a stand that sold candy apples. "There" she said with a smile as she tugged him over to the stand and then pulled her shoe off. She slipped out a twenty dollar bill that had been where the shoelaces and top cover of the shoe met. She slipped her shoe back on and glanced over at the chocies of what to eat. She could be normal and have a wallet, but she often wore clothing without pockets and hardly ever carried around a purse, always in the habit of loosing things within her first contact with them.
Finally she picked out a chocolate covered apple with nuts ontop, she then turned back to him. "What do you want?" she asked curiously, ready to pay since he probely didn't have money.

Sei trailed along with that smile back upon his face, chuckling slightly as he saw the candy apples. He did feel bad that he couldn't eat them. He definitely remembered having them before, but it'd been so long that he'd nearly forgotten the taste. He was like that with a lot of foods, not even remembering what they tasted like. But he wasn't going to let Mel know, thinking she might feel bad, or even refuse to eat herself. So, when she asked what he wanted, he just shook his head. "None, thanks," he replied with a grin. "I'm not hungry right now." He couldn't help laughing to himself as he saw where it was she'd hidden the money.

"....O-Okay..." she said slightly curiously but shrugging it off, not really thinking much about it. She paid for the apple happily as she slipped the rest of the money back into the spot it had been in before. She then unwrapped its paper and slipped the garbage into a large, and now wet trash can. She bit into it and grinned after swallowing "Yay!" she said brightly as she looked around. "We've almost got this place to ourselfs...all those suckers went home, you go find something to do now, I don't mind whatever it is" she added. She was already almost halfway done with the apple, she could eat fast when she wanted to and knew that Sei wasn't the type of guy to care about things like that. She kicked the bottom of her shoe against the floor as she fixed her shoe slightly and then looked back up at him.

Sei blinked once when she stammered, but shrugged it off a moment later. He watched her eat, keeping any traces of longing or jealousy off of his face. Instead he just continued smiling and then turned to glance around when she spoke. "Well, in rain they usually shut down most of the rides, don't they? Or at least the good ones..." He trailed off slightly as he saw one of the game stands, still in progress because the vendor was going to use the rain to his advantage.
Most park games were rigged, and the rain would make it even harder. This particular game was to make three shots in a row. Lucky for Sei, he basketball was his specialty. So he turned back to face Mel, a smirk upon his face. "Want a prize?" he asked, completely confident that he could win.

Mel looked to be debating it actually as she watched the game for a moment the vendor looked like the 'shady' kind of character that your mother would tell you to stay away from. And though Sei could go 'human' and all, it wasn't quite the same as having a real life person with her. She realized how hurtful that sounded in her head and promised to never think it again, she didn't ever want to hurt Sei's feelings. And she would try her best to keep away the almost kiss as well, she wanted him to be happy and not angry or disgusted with her in anyway.
She looked up at his almost smug look and just grinned right back at him "Fine ~ but if you don't win then I get to try too" she said as she walked over to the stand with him, no longer feeling unsafe.

"Oh, I'll win," Sei said confidently as he made his way towards the booth, making himself visible and solid as he did. The man looked up at them, eagerly asking if they wanted to play. Sei nodded and produced a few dollars seemingly from nowhere. Then he approached the game, found his place, and picked up a ball.
"Just make three shots," the vendor instructed, and smirked to himself. It wasn't going to happen. The rain would make it even harder.
But Sei just nodded, lifted the ball over his head, and shot. The man's face fell, as he saw the ball swish right into the net. Sei didn't even blink, just watching as it rolled down back to him. He picked it up again, aimed, and released. Again it swished, and he did the same exact thing for a third time, winning. He grinned, then turned towards Mel. "Want to pick something out?" he asked, gesturing towards the wall of prizes.

Mel had to admit the whole idea seemed cliche a little bit, but although it was hard to not be impressed by Sei. He was an impressive type anyway, she assumed that the way he acted he had a swarm of fangirls when he was alive. She probley would have been one too, then again she never could take the thought of someone she liked being with other girls at the same time. It would just break her fragile heart so eaisly, so she simply grinned when he won, and was glad that he had...brought light to the situation and now the 'shady vendor' even looked less strong. She nodded her head and looked around picking out a slightly fluffy lamb plushie, who she already decided in her mind [of course she wouldn't tell this to Sei] that it would be called lamby.
She walked away from the stand, cuddling Lamby up to her chest as she looked at him "So I'm guessing you were that popular jock guy from highschool?" she asked grinning.

Sei watched as she picked out, slightly surprised to see she picked the lamb, but amused all the same. He just smiled, ignoring the seething vendor, as he began leading Mel away. At her question, he hesitated as if thinking, and then grinned brightly. "Yep! Do you hate me for it?" He knew a lot of people who had hated him, some secretly and some openly. The guy who'd killed him had secretly hated him, until he'd finally snapped and shot him. "It isn't all that great," he added with a shrug. Not only did he have people like that guy, but he also had never wanted to go out with anyone, because whoever he chose would be sure to be harrassed by the others. Girls were pretty mean sometimes, and he didn't want to cause someone trouble.

"No, all that matters is who are you now" she said softly as she glanced up at the sky for a minute. Then back to him "It seems like the pressure might be too much to, I don't think I could handle all that wanting or expectations. I find its better to just be the type who people don't expect things from and then surprise them when you do." she finished off. She leaned over to him and set Lamby carefully on his shoulder and then streatched her arms out wide. She spun around in circles as she felt the rain, and closed her eyes as she kept her head up to the sky. She did this for a while, just enjoying it, she had always done this when she was a kid. She finished a bit later, and grinned at him, both of them were now throughly soaked and she wrapped her arms around his neck from behind as she stood still with him.
"I wish you could feel warmth from my body" she admited softly as she rested on him, her eyes closed again as she gently started crying. [TT^TT]

Sei nodded his head, a half smile upon his face. "Yeah... that too." He watched as she set the lamb on his shoulder, and remained still so it wouldn't fall off into the muddy ground. He just watched her quietly as she spun around in circles, letting out a small chuckle after a moment. Then she suddenly hugged him, and he paused. When he heard her words his eyes widened. "I-" he began, then clenched his teeth rather than continuing.
He just bowed his head, hair falling in his face to completely hide his eyes. He wasn't crying, but it almost looked like he was because of the rain, not to mention he suddenly felt like crying. But he wouldn't let himself. His fists clenched as he stood there, rigid. He couldn't... it was so hard to stand sometimes. Why hadn't he passed on, gone to heaven or hell or whever he was supposed to end up? He asked himself that every day.

"I'm sorry" she said after a few long almost silent moments, her voice still pathetic and fresh with tears. She undid her postion, and set the lamb on the bench as she gave him a tight hug, comforting him as best she could. She kept him as close as he would let her and she had managed to stop crying, but she was still sad. It was such a sad feeling...she could feel herself falling deeply for him, but he wasn't sure of anything right now. He wanted to move on...and stay here, that was why he was a spirit, what was she supposed to do? Kill herself? Not that the thought hadn't crossed her mind, but it was so weird to feel this strongly without knowing him for long.
"Sei...I don't want to be alone again so soon, please don't leave me, I know its selfish...and you don't really feel the same, but please don't want to leave right now" she wispered.

Sei didn't move even after she'd let go. He just stood there for a moment, feeling the rain hitting him but not really feeling it. He couldn't, just like he couldn't really feel how warm Mel was, and he couldn't feel the coldness of the rain. He should be shivering, but he couldn't feel it. He looked sharply up at Mel though, when she whispered, and smiled faintly. "I don't want to leave," he said softly. "Not now. Not that I've met you and Akane. I can't just leave now." Besides, I don't know how... he thought quietly. If he'd just passed on originally, he wouldn't have to feel like this. But his spirit had remained on earth, and he'd met more people, friends. It was slightly painful to be around them but... but he still liked them. He didn't want to just leave. He was glad someone would care though; someone wanted him to stay.

Selfish. She was so selfish she was overflowing with guilt because she knew it too. She wanted him all to herself, she wanted him to care for her as strongly as she did him, but things don't always go that way, not so soon anyway. Mel always rushed things though, and it was like she felt like she had been with him before. Like she knew him, but she didn't! It was so frustrating...but she needed to calm down, she needed to live in the present not the past or the future...that one day he might pass on, or she'll start aging and pass him in the years, and have to be with someone else. The present.
"Can we go back to campus now? I got all wet" she said giving a soft laugh, not very hollow, and better than she expected, she picked up Lamby and clasped it to her body again as she firmly gripped Sei's hand with her free one.

Sei smiled lightly and nodded his head. "Yeah. Don't want you to catch a cold or something." He himself couldn't catch colds... He gripped her hand back, feeling that he was holding it, yet not feeling the warmth. He ignored this though, as best he could, and started walking. At least he left footprints in the mud. That was proof that he was hear, even if he couldn't feel or even be seen half the time. "Did you have fun, at least?" he asked suddenly, looking at her hopefully. He hated that he always seemed to drag down the mood by the end. He often wondered if he depressed Akane, but she was so emotionless he couldn't tell.

"Of course I had fun!" she said slight surprised "I was with you!" she added brightly. "I brought myself down, it was my fault, not yours, you saved my life and won me a lamb~" she said giggling. It wasn't fake either, she did have a good time, she just had said something that had been in her mind lurking evily. She tried her best to make him smile though, even if he wasn't with her right now, a smile from him was better than most things that couples got like kisses. She glanced at one person by the exit who was giving a downright scared stare at the fact that she looked like she was clinging to air and talking to an imaginary friend too.
Mel continued, just to freak them out "Anyway I'm glad that I came with you, and that it rained, and that I got to eat some apples" she said. She watched as the person walked away in a very obvious hurry and Mel just grinned brightly up at Sei. She stopped for a second and picked two buttercups, giving one to him "There. We were both here" she said as she tucked one behind her ear and left the park.
