(Do they use quills?? 4laugh )
Andel grabbed a small booklet along with a pen and sat back on the bed. He began to write, or so it seemed, in the book, every so often looking up.

(( You know what? i have no idea! Maybe a hybrid between a Pen and a Quill? something you still need to dip in ink, me guesses? ))
Irix pilled out a book; he hadn't paid any attention to what it was, and opened it up to a random page and stuck his nose in it. He was going to read it, and not pay any attention to anything.
'...and so in theory, cultivating wheat without the use of any sort of fertilizer, natural or man made, isn't advisable. In due consideration of thi...'
What the hell was this? "Okay." He tossed the useless book across the floor and scooted around on his bed so that he was facing Andel competly. "What did i do wrong? I know you dont like me, so why? Write it down."

Andel looked up for a moment, and couldn't help but smile. So, that was what was bothering him... Andel flipped to a new page in his book and started to write. He stood up and then handed the book to Irix.
I am not mad at you, nor can I figure how you came to such a conclusion.
Was all that was written on the page. It was in a very nice spidery script.

Irix read what was written in the book, then looked up at ANdel, blinking. "Uh.." How had he made that his conclusion? "Well..." He had no idea. It just seemed the right way to think after making such a terrible first impression.
Speaking of which.. this was turning out to be a terrible second impression. Oh for the love of... Irix was hopless. "I dont know. seemed lik the right way to think." He handed to book back to Andel, careful not to drop it; he hadn't swept the room in a few days, and if he got the book dirty by dropping it, he'd be hated for sure.

Andel placed his leg on one of the rungs of the bed, for something to write on. He then began to scribble in the book, using the same page.
I do not get mad at people, so you don't have to worry about that, Irix... is that how you spell your name?
He then handed the book back towards Irix. He was annoyed that he hadn't thought of doing this before to converse with his room mate.

Irix read, again, was was sort of gratefull taht his parents had bothered to teach him t read when they hadn't needed to. He nodded, feeling just a little bit ashamed of his rash thinking in reguards to whether or not Andel hated him. "Sorry... but yes. Thats how you spell it. Thank you for not disliking me. I get... paranoid i guess." and he handed the book back to his roomy.

Andel smiled, and continued to write on the same abused page.
As I said, I don't get mad, Irix. It's just something that I don't do.
He'll shrug as he hands the booklet back to him.

Irix smiled over at ANdel, now quite happy that he knew his room mate wasn't going to get angry at him, and wasn't already. "Thats good." He said, handing the book back "So, when did you arrive? Where are you from? Why cant you talk?"

Andel began to write again.
I arrived early this morning with my brother. I am from a noble family in the north, and I... just can't speak...
He hesitated a moment, and then handed the book back to Irix.

He pondered that for a minute, and decided against pressing about the speaking issues. "Your brother, huh? I have 4. None of them were chosen. Must be nice, having Family here, right?" He could only imagine. and he handed to book back.

Andel smiled at Irix, and began to write again.
My brother was chosen a little bit ago, his companion is so nice. She's a dear to be around. But I am not allowed to see my brother, he's ill.
He handed the book back to Irix.

"ill?" Irix asked, his curiosity getting the better of him. he knew he had no business asking but he couldnt help it. "whats wrong with him?" he handed the book back slowly, in a way, rather enjoying the 'conversation' he was having. it was a helpfull distractions from the curious acting of his teachers.

Andel looked down at the booklet... but only needed to shrug his answer.
I haven't been able to see him since we got here. I don't even know where he is right now... which is surprising because it's us.
He handed the book back to Irix.

Irix gave ANdel a puzzled look. He didn't quite understand what he ment by that, but.. "Why would the heralds lock up someones who's sick?" it was the only thing he could think to ask at the moment, and he handed the book back.

Andel could only shrug back. He put the booklet down on the bed, and made a gesture that seemed to ask if he could sit down.
