because yamcha received one of the scars while assassinating a political figure by a bodyguard. then he ditched bulma and started goin out with this girl. the girl was the body guards fiancee. yamcha was fighting this guy and was about to deal the death blow but she jumped in the middle. then in her last diing breaths she made another scar crossing the other one. Ironic huh?
