Heya smile

I'm Poison-the-Monkey, or Selkie as I call myself in anarchist/communist circles. I'm an odd mix of anarchist, communist, socialist and liberal. I know. I'm of the opinion that if we do have a government (which we will for a long time I'm bettin') it's important to work with it because if there is a government it needs to serve the needs of the people. It never will completely, but it's worth pushing for it. So that means that even though I'm an anarchist, I feel that stuff like universal healthcare and all that is worth it. Because in an anarchist society, (at least a good one), we'd all be taking care of eachother's needs anyways. Just because it's the lame government taking our money doesn't mean we shouldn't pay it and fight for that money to go to the right places, imo. A lot of people hate me for that idea and disagree, but whatever. I'm respectful of their ideas and ask they be respectful of mine.

I'm in the process of creating an anarchist commune in Gladbrook, Iowa, with several other anarchists and communists (not all of us are both or even one! My fiance is neither but believes it can work in small groups and is morally superior, but he's just a big cynical poo-poo head.) So...if you're interested, check us out wink We should be ready in about 2 years, we've got the land and everything. We plan to be a community outreach thing as well as provide housing and a safe place for anarchists, communists, blacks (KKK is rising in the area), whoever needs it. We--gah, sorry, I'm gonna start advertising it. I'll shut up. smile

I'm trying to get into college so I can get a degree in Journalism...I'm a video game nerd...I have like 5 million freaking "pets" (ie family members with fur and four legs) ...my favorite colors are violet/indigo, red, and blue, depending on the setting...I've only ever done ONE illegal thing in my life, I'm a huge coward and I'm working to get over it...I have a weird obsession with fiery albinos, don't ask...I'm an atheist and loving it...uhm, I can't think of anything else.

So, uh, hi thar.

Commune sounds quite interesting, good luck with that one, updates would be interesting as well if anything big happens and you feel like posting it by the way, but yeah, welcome to the guild!

As I clicked on a thread titled "Why attacking the rich is bad" I got the PM accepting me to this guild. Oh the irony.

So hello, I happen to be Brian and I happen to introduce myself now.
I'm only 17 and as that a person a lot of others won't take too serious when it comes to politics, but I've had some time pointing out the actual state this country (I am sadly german) is in and the like. I am for the ideals of communism, though, the idea of a leader or any authority really doesn't please me. I think the way to work out a system that's going to really stay fair is without a certain person in power. I've once read the system I favor is the socialist anarchy, but well, it's Anarcho-Communist I suppose.
Also, I like stuff and am a lame boring person who lacked sleep for the past few days.
If there's anything else that interests you about me, feel free to ask and stuff.

I've been reading about Anarcho-communism a lot lately, Kropotkin and Emma Goldman are both brilliant. Germany also has had some important revolutionary thinkers (although not all of them ones that I like) like Emma Goldman (polish born but wrote in and lived in Germany and was a German citizen), Karl Leibknecht, Clara Zetkin, Karl Kautsky (also not born German, but worked mainly in Germany), Eduard Bernstein and, obviously, Marx and Engels. Also in terms of politics, most of us are American so honestly Germany isn't so bad, although I'm not totally familiar with the specifics of the current situation. Anyways, welcome to the guild. By the way, A Scanner Darkly is a great movie.

Sure thing. Even if you disagree, allowing yourself to think outside the box or see different ways is always a good thing.

Name:Evan(Not my real name but everyone calls me it)

Current age: 21.
Gender: Male.
Current location: USA, Pennsylvinia
Religion: Christian
Ideology:Christian Communism.
Interests/likes: Religion, philosophy, reading, spices, anime, mmorpg, video games, swiming.
Dislikes: Bigots, extroverts, racists, cheese, lazania, American football.
Other:

I was originally from China, liked the Commuist Ideals, applied for the Chinese Communist Youth League and accepted. Moved to USA, disliked this place. Every class turned against me everytime I was being positive about Communism. Believed in Jesus Christ after came to the USA.

Right now I am a Christian Communist. Sounds weired doesn't it? I believe Communism could not be implemented because no human being is perfect. But when the Kingdom of Heaven falls then true Communism will rise.

Current age: 18
Gender: Male
Current location: Texas, United States
Religion: Eclectic Polytheist
Ideology: Uncertain. I came here largely because it looked like it could grant me insight into many different viewpoints.

Interests/likes: History, folklore, a good amount of famous literature, rock-operas, philosophy, world issues, a handful of fictional series, biology, comedy (notably George Carlin.)
Dislikes: vague, clearly meaningless poetry or song lyrics, the media, anti-intellectuals, censorship, people who get their history lessons from the Bible, passive-aggression.
Other: My grandparents aparently signed their names on a list for a socialist group, which caused them some trouble during the McCarthy witch-hunt.
