His eyes shook, a hint of sadness in his eyes. "Yes, sadly. But, the children insisted, and we will try not to be gone long..." He bowed his head so they couldn't see his expression. "Truly, it is by the warfront. But, Sonic's creation is more important then...concerns about that."

He nodded. 'That's what I'm afraid of...' He thought, looking at Leo and Geo as they came over to join them. Dinner was over. It was time to go. "If you have anything you want to bring along, do it now. We leave in fifteen minutes." He smiled sadly and left them to talk or do whatever, heading to his own room.

Lillian nodded and took the tram back to the quarters, looking over at earth as it moved down the tracks. Once she got back to her room she sighed, placing her necklace in a little box for safekeeping and storing it under her bed. Lillian also decided to think ahead, putting a roll of bandages in her pocket. She took the tram again to the shuttle bay to meet up with the others, arriving a bit early.

When she got there Miles was sitting alone, looking out of it. Blinking, he looked up to see her there and nodded a greeting before he looked out the window again. "We're going to be taking a small craft, so don't bring too much." He said softly, not looking at her, his sky-blue eyes shaking.

Lillian nodded to him "I didn't...sir, zis may be a bit harsh...but you have to deal with vat you may see on ze earth." she sighed gently, putting her hand on his shoulder "I know thats hard to do, but if ze project is important enough to put you in zis situation...then you must deal with ze hardships. Saving ze village of people who found me was important to me, and I had to deal with ze hardships of pulling scrap from a wreckage strew with ze burned corpses of friends...and..my own father. But I did it anyways. Thanks to my actions, ze village was able to thrive and its people exited a long period of famine. Do you see ze moral here?"

"Not really..." He said softly. "But, I understand the 'dealing with the hardships' part." He looked at her. "At least you've manged to help some people. Me?" He scoffed. "I'm a coward. I used the ARK as a means of escape from the harsh reality..."
He stood up, hearing footsteps as Leo, Geo and Reia came over. "Are you all ready?"
"Ready steady!" Leo said, grinning. "Let's get going!"
He nodded, then led them all into the ship. Moments later, it took off and went down to Earth.

Lillian seemed a bit nervous as the shuttle shook violently entering the atmosphere, but it soon passed, the shuttle flying through the sky back on earth and over station square...which has explosions and plumes of smoke rising from it "its as we feared..." lillian said, sighing.

Miles tried not to look away, but with every glance at the battlefield he saw another Fox warrior dying in his mind. He knew of what was happeneing. Things weren't going well for the Foxes, not since the Echidnas had joined the Hedgehogs.
Reia looked confused. Why did he look so lost, so confused? It almost made her want to cry, seeing his saddened expression.
Leo saw his expression and sighed, holding Geo close. "Don't worry. I'm sure that your prpjects will help your people..."
Miles blinked, then looked at him. "....Perhaps. For now, we must continue to the town that holds the components Gerald ordered."

"When it has the ARK's insignia? Everyone knows that the ARK has no true allegiance to anyone in particular." Miles smiled sadly. "We won't be attacked."
True enough, they landed easily and stepped out. "We must hurry. I don't want anyone in the War to see us here." He quickly led them to a large warehouse, where they would meet the person with their components.

Lillian stepped inside, looking around suspiciously and suddenly holding miles back as well as the others. She soon let them through, looking around the warehouse still "be cautious, I have a bad feeling about zis place miles..."

He nodded, but diddn't seem too fazed. All he could tell was that it was strangely quiet. 'What's going on? I thought there was a big group here. Did I go to the wrong place?' He thought, then winced as he bumped something on the ground in his path.
Looking down, his eyes widened as he realized that he'd bumped into a hand, attached to a fallen man. He'd been cut in a vital place, and had been dead before they'd arrived.
"What....happened...here?" He said, his voice breaking as he looked over the area. Many more were dead, all with similar wounds. His steps were hesitant as he walked farther inside, his eyes shaking. Why had he brought the two young boys here?
The door closed and he looked around quickly, but it was only Leo closing it behind them. Breathing a sigh of relief, he looked up at the burning lamps and nodded, walking on. Even if they were dead, perhaps the components they'd had with them were safe.
c***k.
Hearing a strange sound, he stopped and looked around cautiously. The sound reached his ears again and he turned to the source. Nothing. Confused now, he started to walk towards it.
"Get down, Miles!" An adult yellow-orange fox said, knocking him down just as a blde was slashed out of the shadows. Wincing at his arm being hit, he looked at Miles and then helped him up, pulling out his sword. "The items being held here are no longer in this area. My people have them at the Fortress."
He turned to Miles, his light-green eyes shimmering in the fire-light. "Be safe, my brother. I know how you feel, but you know the way to the Fortress. I can not accompany you." He turned away.
"Jay..." Miles said, his eyes widening with joy. "I'll be sure to talk with you when you return! We have much to discuss!" Nodding, he ran over and pushed open the door to open the warehouse. "C'mon, let's go!"

Lillian kept the eyes of the two children covered, leading them through silently. Death, no matter how brutal, did not phase her now. "I told you, zere was something wrong...but at least we can get ze components. Is ze fortress far from here?"

"...Too close to the battlefield..." Miles said, but chose not to say anything else as he led the way to the ship and entered it. Then he intructed the driver to the direction and the ship lifted off the ground.
'Miles...you look so lost...' Reia thought, looking at him sadly. 'I wish I could help you...' She touched his arm gently. "Um...Professor? Perhaps I should go in for you and pick it up..."
"No. They don't know you..." Miles replied, looking at her. "We'll all go in, I'll introduce you, and then we get the items and leave." He sighed. "I don't know how that Echidna knew of my coming, but I don't want to risk another attempt on my life..."
