Good luck! I learned through a game on the computer a few years ago...I've tried relocating it again for a friend of mine, but so far haven't had any luck. Basically the computer would pick a note randomly on the tenor staff and you had to say which one it was. That helped me quite a bit. If I happen to find, I'll make sure to tell you where it is if you're interested.

That kinda sounds like a program my piano teacher has called Music Ace. Maybe it's a company that makes them for different instruments?
It could be, I don't remember the name of the program now, it's very possible...

Cool. How are things in your band going nowadays?
Doing alright, playing Mozart stuff mostly right now...How's yours?

It's alright, the ensemble I was in got a 1st division (the one that I had to learn tenor clef for! 3nodding ) And now I need to concentrate on my solo, which isn't too hard but still. It's the 3rd part of the Mozart concerto in Bb for bassoon and piano. (Duh. sweatdrop )
And in concert band we're playing Masquerade for Band, Festive Overture, and ______ March (the name escapes me for now), the first two by Persichetti and Schostakovitch (names definately wrong, I tried to spell them phonetically and I'm not sure who goes with which peice.)

If you can't tell, I'm a bit of a mess tonight!
3nodding I know the Mozart concerto pretty well, I've had to sub in a couple rehearsals for a guest soloist playing that for one of my concerts, I managed to keep up fairly well for barely looking at any of the movements, which I could convince my professor to let me actually play it for jury, doesn't want me to for a while yet, maybe I'll do it for a recital or something...

I haven't heard of any of those concert band pieces, and yes, we do need lives sweatdrop

Kitty plays oboe (barely a year...I think) and flute (erm...4 years, though I play more oboe now)

Marching Band:
-Have you ever tried to march with a double reed? No, I'd rather not try that, for fear of accidently biting my reed/chipping it and having to spend $12 for a new one
Concert Band:
-What's the best/worst you've ever done at All-Region, All-Area, All-State, ect.?
Ah! That! I recently went to Solo and Ensamble, and my quintet got a 1!
We're in 8th grade. I hadn't even been playing for a year yet.
This is the first woodwind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French Horn) that my school has seen in at least 15 years.
You can imagene how excited we were when our score was posted.
-Favorite peices!
Hornpipe (from Water Music; also the quintet piece)
Dorian Rhapsody
Reeds:
-What kind/size reed do you use?
Depends on what my director has, since I buy them from him. Artist reeds--though I find them to be crappy since they're never in tune--seem to last a long time, but I found that Emerald are of a better quality and my tone seems to be better (unfortunatly, I'm out of those sweatdrop my last one just chipped and is almost dead). Lescher (probably spelled wrong) reeds are REALLY nice at first, but wear out fast.
Strength? Normally Medium, Medium-hard. I once did have a reed that was labeled as Hard, but it was so easy to play on, It must have been mislabeled.
-Do you make your own reeds?
Ha! I wish! That would save me a hell of a lot of money...
Tips, Fingerings, Hints:
-What to do in a worst case senario
Oh! I have a good story! I must first say that I never go ANYWHERE without duct tape.
So I was in class. The spring of my Ab key broke, so the key was stuck down instead of me having to push it down. All of my notes sounded wrong. I took about five minutes and constructed a thick square of tape to hold the key up until the end of class when I could have our director send it in to be repaired. The only note I couldn't play was Ab. You can imagene how happy I was when I thought of that solution...
Randomness:
-How wierd is your band director??
Very weird. He has a rubbish sense of humor.

Though last year's BD...he's awesome! He let our woodwind quintet choose the music for Honors band this year!

LOL! Awesome. But a French Horn isn't really a woodwind.
