"Fa la la la la," Ecavi sang quietly as she opened the front door quietly and headed directly for the stairs, "la la la la!" She smiled and, after ascertaining that no one was in her direct path, she picked up the pace to the top and headed for her room. Bouncing at her side was a plastic shopping bag. The fairy-girl had just returned from starting her Christmas shopping, and picking up a couple things that she thought the girls might like.

"Hmmhmhmhm," she hummed to the same tune when she reached her room, closed the door and went to her closet, "Alright, let's see what we have here!" She opened the closet door, and then looked into her shopping bag.

"Ah yes," she pulled three heavy and tissue wrapped parcels and set them in the topmost corner shelf in her closet. Then she withdrew a shiny, green-black book and another brighter and more colorful looking book and set them on the floor outside of the closet.

"Huh?" Something caught her eye as she bent slightly to drop the book, something fuzzy.

"Th- the kitty stuffed animals I made," She laughed, "And that other one! I forgot about those! I'll have to give them to Myze and Ceri." She shook her head, set the plastic bag by the plushes and then extracted the two cat plushies. Setting them on the dresser, she picked the book up off the floor after shutting her closet and left her room.

"Now to find the girls," she murmured.

*

"Alright!" Ecavi exclaimed, pacing back and fourth in front of the couch.

"What?" Min asked, tilting her head.

"I've brought you all here to explain Christmas," Ecavi stopped and smiled at them. Jasmine was sitting on the couch, with Elena at her side, and Ceri and Myze were sitting off to her other side together. The others knew about Christmas, so she'd only needed to gather these ones.

"Christmas?" Min's eyes lit up- it sounded to her like Ecavi was about to explain something fun, like how she'd explained Halloween.

"Yes," Ecavi beamed at the dragon, "The basics of it, to cut out any religious meaning- are when you get together with friends and family and celebrate. You bake-" she started pacing again, "You sing, you just have fun. But the main thing- that kids like, anyway- is that you give gifts!"

Jasmine simply stared at Ecavi, Elena's red eyes brightened, Ceri looked like she was caught between being speechless and squealing in delight, and Myze looked a little more thoughtful than her usual apathetic gaze. Ecavi beamed- she had even gotten through to Myze.

"And!" Ecavi continued, pausing for effect, "On December 24th, in the middle of the night, Santa Claus comes to all of the houses in Gaia and leaves gifts for everyone!"

"Really?!" Jasmine squeaked, while finally Ceri released her own high-pitched squeal.

"Yes," Ecavi beamed, "I bought a book- it's the Night Before Christmas. It's a great story. And soon we'll start decorating, and baking cookies and get a tree.."

*

"Giiirls~" Ecavi knocked on the wall by the enterance to the play room as she stepped in. In her arms were two fuzzy lumps, one orange and one black. Ceri was sitting on the floor trying to put together one of the simple puzzles that are made for young children, while Myze was leafing through some of the books that were in the toy room- much simpler than some of her reading, but Ceri liked them, and that was why she bothered looking at all.

"'avi!" Ceri looked up from her puzzle and waved brightly, Myze just glanced up.

"I've brought something for you girls," Ecavi smiled, in good spirits after the Christmas conversation despite a disappointing trip to give Jasmine something.

"Oooh?!" Ceri scrambles to her feet and waddles over to her guardian, "Fuzz!" She pointed to the things in Ecavi's arms- they looked fuzzy. Myze raised her head, looking over with mild interest- stepping toward the fairy-woman when prompted to by her sister telepathically.

"I made these for you before we moved," she explained, dropping two plushies infront of the day thule, "I forgot about them, I'm sorry it took so long."

Ceri squealed when two cat plushies dropped at her feet- they were quite big, especially compared to the aduthule. But it was fuzzy! She reached out and hugged onto the brighter, orange tabby one. Myze only watched Ceri warily for a moment, then reached out to pull the darker black-and-white cat towards her.

"I hope you like them," Ecavi beamed, relief almost showing in her face- after the episode with the plushie she'd made for Lucas and Raul she'd almost expected Ceri to start crying. Stepping back a bit, she cleared her throat, "What do you say?"

"Huh?" Ceri looked up at Ecavi.

'Thank you' Myze prompted her twin telepathically.

"Tanku!" Ceri repeatedly brightly.

"I'll assume that came from Myze as well," Ecavi winked at the starry thule, then smiled at Ceri, "You're welcome." She turned around and headed from the room, content- it was never too soon to work on mannres.

Myze put a clawed hand on Ceri's shoulder after Ecavi was gone, still holding a paw of the black and white plush in her other hand, 'You alright?'

''avi not leaving,' Ceri replied quietly and firmly, then gave the great plushie a shake, 'but it no purry..'

Myze shook her head at her sisters comment, though a tiny smile crept over her face- she had to agree.

RP in Adu Thread; Sajhiri in darkred!

The door to the offices of Aduthule Research in the museum creaked open to admit Sedare and Saevire, and Sajhiri's head. The latter merely poked in to murmur "You two stay here and behave while I run Rebecca to the clinic for her checkup. No moneky business Sae. I mean it. Sedare's in charge."

"MOM! WHY ARE YOU PUTTING HER IN CHARGE! THAT'S SO NOT FAIR!" the red and black thule shrieked. She was dressed as a pirate, with a long black coat with gold trim, and fancy buckles all the way down the front.

"Because last time I left YOU alone in here you talked a baby into climbing onto a giant shark and got Youko hurt. Sedare's in charge. It's not up for discussion." Sajhiri looked to the silvery Thule who'd been quiet to that point.

Sedare smiled softly. "I'll be mindful mother."

Sajhiri looked tired, exasperated, and a touch doubtful of the situation, but she nodded and headed back out of the office.

By chance, Ecavi happens to be in the museum with Myze and Ceri- something that seems to happen quite frequently but the girls always enjoy, especially if they run into some other aduthule here. Ecavi is walking around reading some things posted on the boards, the same ones they'd found the invitations to the slumber party on.

Ceri, who's been trying to coax Myze into a game of hide and seek like the one they'd played at the museum before, notices the arrival of the other aduthule almost instantly. She turns from her sister and heads in the direction of the voices, staying out of sight until the voices stop.

"Pirate!" she squeals when she spots Saevire, delighted to see her dressed as a pirate.

Myze, who'd been refusing to join in any games, follows after her twin with only slight interest- going more to make sure Ceri doesn't get into any trouble. She eyes the other aduthule, recalling them from the sleepover..

With Sajhiri gone, Saevire wheeled on the two smaller thule present. "Yarrrr!" She bellowed. "Shiver me timbers, do ye be friends or foes, little scallywags!?" She brandished her wooden cutlass with a flourish, then leaned on it.

Sedare murmued "Don't scare the little ones, Sae. Be nice." She smiled at Myze and Ceri warmly. "Hello there! I haven't seen the two of you since the sleepover. How are you?"

Ceri giggles loudly at Saevire's questioning, much less intimidated than she was during the night. She marches over to them, babbling, "Shiber me tibbers! Scleeags!" She attempts to repeat this newer phrase, failing marvelously, then hugs the smiling silver thule.

"Good!" she answers the question and then releases Sedare, "You pirate too?"

Myze takes a couple steps foreward, though she doesn't get as close as Ceri and stays quiet..

Saevire looks momentarily tickled pink at Ceri's response, before she leans in towards Myze. "Ye be a quiet one. Can ye say, 'Yaaaaaarrrrr!'?"

Sedare hugged Ceri back with a little chuckly. "Hardly. I'm not much for sailing the high seas or making others walk the plank. I think I'd rather be something less dangerous and more studious. A librarian perhaps?"

Myze looks momentarily insulted by the Saevire's question, but quite surprisingly after a moments stare with intense violet eyes she speaks up, "Yarrrr." Her r's roll more than the rest of the word, and her voice remains low but audible.

"Saaaailing!" Ceri tilts her head, "Plaank? What plank? Librahrian?" She blinks several times to emphasize her confusion, not entirely sure what a plank or a librarian were- but almost sure that whatever a librarian was, Sedare would be a good once.

"Be good 'brarian," she smiles at Sedare, not even noticing the first time Myze has spoken to another thule (no matter what it is she said.)

"That's it, matey! You've a pirate's spirit in their afterall!" Saevire enthused. "Do ye want te be one of my sailors! We'll plunder and pillage throughout the seven seas!" She whipped her cutlass about to punctuate her words dramatically.

Sedare eyed her twin for a moment before returning her calm gaze to Ceri. "A librarian cares for and organizes the books in a library, which is a place where books are kept and loaned out to the public. It's a very important job, because books contain so very much knowledge."

Myze stares at Saevire thoughtfully, she'd been a pirate for Ceri- would it be in her best interest to do the same with Saevire? It could be less painful than disagreeing. Besides, she'd probably make a better pirate than the others.

"Ok," Myze nods warily.

"You good librarian, then," Ceri grins toothily, "Books have picturs!" She nods matter-of-factly, she'd looked at lots of books with Myze though not as interested in the words as she was in the pictures.

"Librarian inportant," she murmurs thoughtfully, "Then you inportant!"

Sedare beamed happily at Ceri. "Why thank you, Ceri! I'm flattered. And some books do have pictures, yes, but some don't. They are some that are hard to read, but I'm trying to read them too."

Saevire grinned ferally and she hopped up on a couch. "We'll then, permission to come aboard, matey! Hop right up onto this hear vessel and we'll go prowl the dead sea and bring back some loot!

Ceri smiles and takes a hold of Sedares hand, swinging it back and fourth happily.

"Books hard to read," she agrees, though not thinking along the same lines as Sedare, "Myze try to teach me." She nods, still swinging Sedares arm absently she looks over to her sister happily.

Myze glances over to Ceri and Sedare before scrambling up onto the couch after Saevire. Though the speech was strange she can appreciate that it takes some intelligence to string it together to make sense, and still only a child playing once in awhile can be appealing.

"Ok," she murmurs, her voice getting lower. Out of practice at such situations she can only follow after Saevire.

Saevire growls out. "Avast, what is that on the horizon!?" She points towards the far arm of the couch and waits for Myze to look before she tosses a couple pillows on the floor with her free hand. "I see a haze over the sun, that can only mean, tis sharky weather!" She turns, and gazes over the near arm of the couch. "And there they be! Two porkers off the starboard bow! Right nasty fish, the great white! We'll be needing harpoons matey!"

Sedare frowned slightly as pillows were tossed on the floor, but decided that was bearable, as they had to only be picked up later. She looked back to Ceri. "Would you like me to read you a story?" she asked.

Myze looks to the far end of the couch when Sae points off in that direction, startled when some pillows go flying to the floor. She just stares when the thule explains what they are and what they need, only seeing pillows there.

Suddenly realizing what she's meant to 'see' and what she's supposed to be trying to find she goes towards a table by the end of the couch, grabbing some crayons that have been left there with coloring books like in most waiting rooms.

Crayons could resemble something pointy, if you used your imagination. She'd had enough practice humoring Ceri to realize that. She brings a clawfull of crayons back to Saevire, "Here."

Ceri's green eyes follow Sedare's to the pillows, taking a couple steps toward the pillows when she's offered a story. She turns sharply, slipping to the floor and releasing Sedare's hand on the way.

"Story!" She smiles and claps.

Sedare smiles and she draws a book from one of the shelves in the office. It's a book of children's stories and she settles on the floor and opens it. "This one is called, 'The Princess and the Pea'." She begins to read it for Ceri.

Quote:
ONCE upon a time there was a prince who wanted to marry a princess; but she would have to be a real princess. He traveled all over the world to find one, but nowhere could he get what he wanted. There were princesses enough, but it was difficult to find out whether they were real ones. There was always something about them that was not as it should be. So he came home again and was sad, for he would have liked very much to have a real princess.

One evening a terrible storm came on; there was thunder and lightning, and the rain poured down in torrents. Suddenly a knocking was heard at the city gate, and the old king went to open it. It was a princess standing out there in front of the gate. But, good gracious! what a sight the rain and the wind had made her look. The water ran down from her hair and clothes; it ran down into the toes of her shoes and out again at the heels. And yet she said that she was a real princess.

Saevire accepts the crayons and she grabs a pair of knitting needles from a nearby basket. She stabs the pointy ends into the bottoms of the crayons, and hands one makeshift harpoon to Myze. "There ye be, matey! Now get that shark good!"

Ceri follows after Sedare, then attempts to climb over her arms when she settles on the floor. When that fails, she crawls underneath her arm and settles onto the thule's lap to follow along.

"Pincess an the pea," she repeats quietly, listening intently to the first part of the story- it didn't sound much like a real princess to her, either! She gasps and waits for Sedare to go on..

Myze smiles faintly when the crayons are accepted and made into harpoons with knitting needles, pleased to have picked the correct item for the job. She says nothing and eyes the pillows momentarily, taking several steps on the couch to try to get at a good angle.

If she's going to do this, she's going to do it right.

Once satisfied, she lifts a clawed arm and clumsily launches the crayon-needle harpoon toward the pillows. It doesn't go in a straight path, but twirls off to the side..

The stabbing motion of the 'harpoon' is enough to draw Sedare's attention. She is on her feet and removing the pillows from harm's way in an instant. "Sae! Crayon doesn't come off silk! You can't draw on the pillows. Mother would be angry."

Saevire comes crashing down from the emotional high of almost getting another thule to do something bad and she scowls at her sister. "You ruin all my fun." she snots.

At that moment, Sajhiri's head pokes back into the room. "The appointment was cancelled girls, come on, lets get going!"

Sedare nods to her mother, returns the pillows to their proper place, and hugs Ceri. "I'll finish the story for you another time, ok?" she offers.

Saevire grins a last time at Myze before stalking out of the office with her sister not far behind.

Ceri starts when Sedare gets up to scold the other aduthule, just realizing that Myze was actually intereacting with someone else. Somewhere between amazed and confused, she watches as Sedare moves the pillows and Saevire scowls.

Myze sighs and plops to a seated position on the couch- this is what she gets for attempting to be social. She shakes her head and glances between Saevire, Sedare and Ceri..

The day thule is more startled by the sudden appearance of Sajhiri than the night thule, and stares until Sedare comes and gives her a hug- they had to leave! She frowns and returns the hug, nodding, "Kay, story later."

"Byebye," she waves as Sedare leaves.

Myze watches as the two leave apathetically until Saevire turns and grins at her. So the attempt wasn't a complete failure? She lifts a claw in a farewell gesture..

Dear Diary,

It's amazing- Myze actually spoke the other day (I know I'm slow writing about it, Holidays you know.) We went to the museum, a place that oftentimes is excellent for running into other Aduthule for the girls to play with. We saw Saevire and Sedare there, the girls who'd held the sleepover. It was quite cute, actually- Saevire got Myze to speak to her, they played pirates. I'm not sure why exactly Myze decided to speak to Saevire, but she did.

Ceri had a wonderful time as well, for once she was pretty calm. Sedare read a story to her. Ceri is quite the little puzzle, I think- she's always energetic and at everything at once, but occasionally, I guess, she doesn't like to just sit down and play quietly. Or, quiet compared to her normal behaviour.

Anyway, we have to get to work on Christmas shopping! The girls have so many people I'm sure they'll want to get presents for! Woo!

"Alright guys, just pick one!" Ecavi exclaimed, her tone that of mild frustration and amusement.

"That one!" Jasmine demanded, pointing to an eight-foot tall coniferous tree.

"This un!" Ceri whined, pointing to a two-and-a-half foot tall tree, while Myze stood impassively beside Ecavi shaking her head.

"That's too small!" Min argued.

"Too big!" Ceri whined, standing on her tiptoes and hugging onto the branches of the aduthule sized Christmas tree.

"No it's not!"

"Yes, Min," Ecavi interrupted before Ceri could say anything, "It's too big."

"Mum!" Jasmine looked offended at Ecavi taking Ceri's side, while the thule continued to hug onto the smaller tree.

"But you're right too," Ecavi continued, kneeling down to look at Ceri, "That one is too small for everyone, Ceri."

"B-but- not small!" Ceri whined.

"Ceri, we need to get something a little bigger than that," Ecavi said with a small smile, holding out her arms to the thule. Ceri frowned but jumped into her guardian's arms, "Let's go find a nice one."

And so, with Min angry, Ceri disappointed and Myze indifferent, Ecavi continued one her way through the Christmas tree lot, looking at all the various trees thoughtfully. Some trees looked nice, but none of them seemed the right height. She had to pick a tree that wasn't so tall that Ceri and Myze couldn't appreciate it, but not so short that Jasmine wouldn't.

'This one,' Myze said telepathically to her sister, standing at the bottom of a medium height tree of medium width. Ceri, however, was busy pulling at the needles of the tree 'cavi was currently standing beside, one right beside the one Myze was pointing to. Myze inhaled slowly, cleared her throat and then tried again.

"This one," Her voice was small and quiet, but clear and audible enough.

"Huh?" Ecavi turned and looked to where the sound had originated, the voice was one she hadn't heard very often.

"This one," Myze repeated slowly.

"Myze!" Ecavi squeaked, smiling brightly. Ceri turned sharply at Ecavi's exclamation, looking at Myze, and then the tree.

"Ooooh!" Ceri squealed.

"What do you think, Jasmine?" Ecavi beamed at Myze.

"What?" Jasmine leaned to look around Ecavi, at the tree Myze had selected, "It's alright, I guess."

"It's perfect," Ecavi said with a grin, leaning down and picking up the other aduthule, "Let's go tell the man at the front of the lot we know which one we want. Good work, Myze."

*

"Girls, girls," Ecavi mumbled, shaking her head, "We're not here for you, Ceri- you should pick some things for your friends."

"Friends?" Ceri repeated, replacing a rubber ball she'd picked up, the squealed excitedly, "Luas!"

"Yes, like Lucas," Ecavi beamed, she held Myze in her arms, and Jasmine was walking along behind them.

"And Nura! And Gappar and Carlos and-"

"Yes, Ceri, all of them."

"Kitties!" Ceri exclaimed.

"No, you can't give them your kitty plushies," Ecavi said, shaking her head- she knew what the thule was getting at.

"Pirrot?" Ceri tilted her head.

"For who?"

"Gappar!" Ceri beamed, she knew what Gaspar should get for Christmas.

"Alright," Ecavi said, shaking her head, "Let's pick out some other stuff as well."

"Mum," Jasmine said from behind her, "I don't know what to get 'ilia."

"What about what you picked up the other day?" Ecavi turned around and asked, "Who was that for?"

"Tabby," Jasmine murmured, "But I don't know what for 'ilia."

"We'll think of something," Ecavi smiled reassuringly, "Don't worry."

"'avi!" Ceri's voice came from the other side, Ecavi turned to see her hold up a coloring book and some crayons.

"You want to get those?" Ecavi beamed, and Ceri nodded.

"Alright then," Ecavi said, and then began to wish she'd gotten a cart. After picking up some other stuff, they were on their way to the front to pay for everything when suddenly Myze spoke up again.

"Wait," she said quietly, pulling something off a shelf they'd been passing, and handing it to Ecavi.

"You'd like to get that?" Ecavi smiled, and Myze responded with an apathetic nod, "Alright then."

*

After a long day of shopping, they finally arrived home. They'd dropped off the tree outside before going shopping, but now was time to get it set up in the living room. They spent a rather loud evening getting the tree up and decorated- Ecavi was pleased to find the tree stayed standing on her first try to get it into the stand correctly. Everyone helped get the tree decorated, after Ecavi got the lights on- something all the girls enjoyed watching. For the other ornaments, even Briar and Elena tried to help out, though between all of the children and felines most of the ornaments ended up near the bottom of the tree.

But of course, that was perfectly all right.

Koko and Kari come to visit!
PostPosted: Thu Dec 22, 2005 4:05 pm

After dropping off the various treats at the bakery, that basically left nothing for the duo to do. It would have been a good idea to go shopping and get presents, now that they thought about it, but there wasn't anything wrong with spreading a little holiday cheer, right?

Just not in the form of caroling. Bleh.

With that thought in mind, Koko happily knocked on her friend's door.

The sound of steps coming towards the door is heard shortly after the knock. Ecavi, who'd beening trying to read over a Christmas book with Myze and Ceri to calm herself down after finding Min had gone out without telling her, is the one who opens the door.

"Hello," She says automatically, but then brightens when she sees who's there.

Ceri, who was distracted from the story by Ecavi getting up, follows her guardian out of living room and towards the door babbling cheerfully the last couple lines of the story they'd been reading.

Myze, on the other hand, remained in her seat in the living room..

Koko grinned, waving enthusiastically at 'cavi and started speaking, in a joking tone. "Now, I know our visit was a little unexpected, but we wanted to spread a little cheer throughout the neighborhood, and you, my friend, are our first victim."

On the other hand, Kari didn't really get the joke. How could spreading cheer mean there be victims? Victims of cheer spreading? Death by happiness? Or maybe that was just Katana talking, otherwise she would've gotten it.

Really.

"Hi there!"

Ecavi grins at Koko's joking about being victims of cheer, "Is that so?" She winks at her friend, then turns her gaze to the merged thule, "Hello there R-" She cuts herself off, her mouth hanging open and loosing the smile.

Wow.

"Ri?" she questions carefully..

Ceri, still babbling, makes her way closer to the door. When she spots Koko she waves cheerfully, then stops when she spots Kari. She looks like that thule that had saved her! But not exactly. The arm and stuff reminds her of the thule she'd never really gotten to talk to.

'Myyyyyyyyyze!' Ceri squeals mentally.

Myze, hearing the mental squeal, rolls her eyes and climbs down from her spot in the living room, peeking out into the hallway..
PostPosted: Thu Dec 22, 2005 4:41 pm

"Kari," the thule automatically corrected, not noticing Koko's silent mocking; she just smiled.

"It's a long story," Koko added. "I'll try to explain, but only if you let us inside!" She smirked, seemingly trying to make a deal of sorts with 'cavi. Information for a couple minutes rest. Sounded fair, right? After all, they'd been walking around for a while.

Ecavi blinks at Kari, stepping aside wordlessly and motioning them inside. What the heck happened to Ri and Kat?

Ceri takes a seat in the hallway and waves to Kari, smiling again- over the initial shock of seeing what looked a lot like two people she'd seen before.

"Hiiiiiiie!" She giggles.

Myze raises an eyebrow at Kari, but stays by the doorway to the living room.

"Thanks!" Koko chirped, trotting inside, and Kari followed after her. She looked around the house in somewhat admiration. It was so neat.

Aunt 'cavi's curiosity was definately obvious. This was a bit of an odd circumstance. Regardless, Kari peered at the younger thule, almost forgetting who exactly she was. It couldn't have been that long, could it? No, no. The bright one, her name was, er.

Oh yeah.

"Hi, Ceri! Bet you don't remember me, huh?"

Ecavi snaps out of her wonder and turns to Koko, "Oh, um- first look around the new house too, huh?" She grins, "the living room is this way, follow me!" She turns around and leads the way, smiling at Myze as she passes her.

Ceri coos at Kari when she speaks to her, then exclaims brightly, "Cookie!" She giggles and gets back to her feet. "C'mon!" She says, grabbing Kari's hand and attempting to drag her to the living room after 'cavi.

Myze retreats to the living room again, and manages to scramble onto the couch before the others come in.

"Can't help but look around; it really does look nice," she commented while following 'cavi. "Unlike my house."

Cookie? Kari would just take that as a sign that maybe she did remember her. In the mean time, she followed her guide to the living room. First thing she noticed? Well, it was either Myze or the tree, but it didn't really matter. Right? Right.

"I like the tree. Where'd you get it? We got stuck with one of those fake ones," she said with a little disdain, directed at Koko.

Ceri pulls Kari right over to the Christmas tree when she comments on it, holding up her hands, "Biiig tree!" She giggles and pulls at some of the garland at the bottom of the tree within her reach, with her free hand.

"No- Ceri," Ecavi shakes her head, "We got it from a tree lot nearer to Barton, actually.."

Myze watches the others quietly..
