gothick_bingy A tip for getting your friends to overcome their shyness would be not to try and take photos in a big group and single them out or anything. Usally if you come to them privatly (not stalkerishly blaugh ) then they will let you take pictures of them if they are alone. Alot of my friends will let me take pictures of them alone, but hate it to be singled out when in a group so maybe trying that will help you get the great shots you've been thinking about On the opposite side of this, I've found that having a group of friends all together helps tremendously. It's hard to get a person to relax in front of the camera... their normal, natural smiles become pathetic and forced. But if you have a group of friends standing behind the camera, you can get everyone talking and laughing. If your subject is laughing and chatting away, they forget the camera. Wait for someone to say something *really* funny, and take sneak attack pictures while the subject is fighting for air. smile

my friends wont let me in the same room as them if I have my camera on me. Theyr bloody scared of it. blaugh

In high school I used to just carry a disposable and randomly snap pictures with it. I would contantly catch people off guard. But, I wouldn't carry one everyday, so people wouldn't be expecting it when I had one.
Now, people come to me to get their photos taken. It's rather nice.

Oh dear, fear of Guild death. Somehow I am not worried. How come no one is post art for the water idea? I'm still looking for a good photo where I really do have WATER as the subject, not a support item.
