Kay then decided she wasn't hungry as she realized she had missed her day of work at her fathers' ranch. She groaned. "Man, he's never gonna let me forget this one...not to mention the horses got out and I still gotta round them up...", she said to herself, shaking her head. "Better to come back in the morning to give him some time to let him cool down." *Gets up and looks around* Wonder if there's a place I could stay for the night? She wondered.

The inn began to wind down for the night. There was a musician playing on the stage, and most patrons had retired to their rooms for the night.
Arlia ordered another drink and a light snack from one of the passing waitresses. She only had to wait a few more hours...

Riyho walked nack in the tavern and it was really dark,
he ordered a quick drink and relaxed for a bit....

Herle jerked awake and realized with embarasment he'd fallen asleep, waiting in the alley.
Assessing the time, he realized he'd missed the prime time for his "show" but desperation made him decide to go through with it anyway.
Quickly, he pressed the copper coin he'd been toying with to the street stones, and began to chant. His voice echoed hollowly as he invoked a lesser stone spirit. The coin sank into the rock, sealing the contract, and a small vibration passed across the street.
The vibration centered on a cobblestone right in front of the inn's door. It grew steadily in intensity, as did the rock, until it resembled something vaguely man-like, eight feet tall.
The stone creature roared and beat its chest, before casually pushing the inn's door off its hinges and stooping through.
Herle's jaw dropped. "Damn! It was supposed to be much weaker! What's wrong with my magic lately!?" He stood quickly and ran to deal with it.

Arlia could be said to be less than pleased when the stone golem 'wandered' into the inn.
When it frightened the waitress into dropping her next meal she was downright angry.
Carefully she got up from her table and faced the monster.
"You're going to regret that...." She informed it as lightning began to form around her.

Herle skidded to a stop at the smell of ozone, wafting out of the inn. It was the familiar voice, however, that caused him to throw himself to the ground at the side of the doorway; praying that the golem's mass had covered the action.
Can't let Arlia find out this was my doing! Herle sweated, unwillingly contemplating the consequences.
He weighed the possibility of fleeing over his responsibility for the problem.

The lightning swirled around her like ribbons, waiting for the release. Arlia lifted an arm and pointed it at the golem.
"Lightning STORM!" She cried, directing all of the electric energy at the creature. With a sizzle it flew from her to it, crashing down all around.

Herle shuddered on the other side of the wall, recognizing the ferocity of Arlia's spell. Against his better judgement, he decided to help her, believing it would be better for him in the end.
He stood, and ran up to the nearby window, which had been shattered by the spell.
"Oh my! Arlia!? Like, What is going on here!?" He shouted.

"Herle? What are you doing here?" Arlia asked, rather calm considering that the golem was trying to club her with one giant arm. Gracefully she jumped from location to location, avoiding each blow.

"Err..." Herle replied, watching her acrobatics with ever-growing concern...for himself.
"Oh, you know. I was just wandering by, and noticed that the inn's door looked funny. Thought I might try and help with that." He said non-chalantly.

"So kind of you. I do believe this fellow here was responsible for that. And for ruining my late-evening meal."
She lifted her arm at the golem again, though this time she used a quicker spell.
"Lighting BOLT!"

*Rose decided to help the girl with the lightning power after her meal was dropped. She began to tap her fingers together in a rapid motion. Between her palms was forming a purpilish ball of psychic energy. She then shot it at the stone golem that attempted to clobber the guest.*

Designed to resist magic, the stone golem seemed fairly unfazed by the lighting. The psychic blast, on the other hand, hit it like a cannon ball.
The golem roared and fell back, as a large portion of its abdomen crumbled.
At the same time, Herle doubled over in the street, screaming.

Unable to see behind the monster, Arlia assumed what could have been the worst.
"Yo! Herle? Did the golem fall on you?" She yelled at him.
