Rock Lee Drunken Master
It's because Lee has a foreign name translated into Japanese.
I don't really know how to explain it right, but it's like..
A good example is (OMG) Chuck Noris.
Translate Chuck Noris's name into Japanese and you get (OMG) Chyaku Norisu. (see how it even sounds like Chuck Noris?)
He has a non-japanese name, so it's writen in katakana, his name is writen how it sounds.
So his name is origonally Rock Lee, first then last, so its translated into Japanese as first then last as Roku Li.

Nice point but I have just remembered proof that Lee is his first name. Not only have I mentioned before that they call him Lee in Japan, they also call him Lee in America. Even if his name is non-japanese the way they say it still applies. I would know. I've have two American teachers who used to teach in Japan. They were addressed by their last name first and first name last. It's Japanese standard. They won't change their standard for anyone.
America didn't mess it up. They just wanted to sound cool. "My name is Lee Rock" Is just lame... and... ew... Rock Lee has a sexy ring to it. Also, I will bring back the fact that I said that no one in japan would continue to call someone they are familiar with by their last name. I have also learned that Japanese adress you by their last name for a couple of reasons.
A: They don't know you. EX: Takana, Yoshihiro. Takana-san
B: You are a teacher or instructor: EX: (Speaking to Yakushi, Kabuto XDD) Ohayou-gozaimasu Yakushi-sensei!
C: They hold no respect for you.EX: (Kinazu, Hatori stabbed Mikinera, Niomi's Dad)
