Chloe and Daimon entered the Den, surfing in no hurry across the water. A few Magikarp scattered, but Chloe didn't pay them much attention. She wasn't here to find Pokemon at the moment. She had to find the waterfall and return the Draco Gauntlets.
The cave was cool and dark, but the lights at the shrine in the center of the underground lake were always lit, casting a faint, and slightly eerie light across the caverns. Chloe could see a few Zubat in the rocks above near the cave ceiling, but they didn't seem to perturbed at a human visitor.
She could still see the hole she and Kaze had broke through to escape, wincing slightly at the memory. Thankfully she hadn't caused any real damage to the place other than that.

As Chloe traveled deeper into the caves, she passed alongside the center island with the shrine. She had been here many times before, mostly on trips with her parents, as well as a time or two in school on field trips. She knew her way around the shrine, put simply. But this time her destination was not that island, but the water fall that lay in the back of the Dragon's Den. This too was a place she had been before, while exploring the cave. But the supposed place that lay beyond it wasn't something that Chloe had known even existed, let alone been.
"Clair better be telling the truth on this..." Chloe muttered, shivering slightly from the underground chill that was a constant in the sacred cave, "We earned that badge, huh Dai?" she questioned the Kingdra beneath her, who nodded in easy agreement. The battle had been a challenge, but they had beaten Clair. Chloe just hoped the dragon master of her hometown wasn't being a sore loser and sending Chloe on a wild Zangoose chase...

So Chloe and Daimon approached the waterfall, coming to a stop in front of the falling water. Chloe looked to Daimon, who looked back to Chloe.
"You think there's really something behind this?" she asked the Kingdra, who merely shrugged. While he was from Johto, he had never been to this portion of the region, except with Chloe. So he was just as clueless as she was, despite him being a Dragon himself.
Chloe sighed, "Guess we're going under, huh?" Daimon nodded his agreement, and started forward again. Chloe held her breath as she was taken under the falls. Thankfully the current wasn't as strong as it could have been. Either that, or Daimon was using his powers to calm the pounding of the water for a bit. Either way, Chloe passed under the water with not too much trouble, coming out in the small gap between the water and the wall.
Taking a clear breath of air, Chloe scanned the wall, now soaking wet, but it wasn't that bad. Good thing she didn't do this when it was cold outside. Running a hand along the wall, the dragon trainer wanna-be scanned for anything that might tell of an opening.

"You see anything?" Chloe asked Daimon, having to speak up to keep her voice heard over the water. The Kingdra beneath her shook his head, scanning the wall as well. But then the Kingdra paused, felling... something. Without an explanation, he went up to a portion of the wall that, to Chloe at least, seemed just like any other rocky surface. But she sat back, trusting that Daimon wouldn't do anything crazy without a reason.
The Kingdra nudged a rock with his snout, and the pebble fell into the water with a nondescript plip. Chloe watched it sink, until it fell out of sight beneath the foam of the falls. A strange musical note filled the cave for a split second, and suddenly the wall in front of them wavered, as if it had never been there in the first place. It flickered for a moment, then vanished all together.
"Oh..." was about all that Chloe could manage.

A field of all things stood before them, as Chloe hopped off of Dai's back. The Kingdra could follow alongside her to an extent. There was a small stream that ran through the field.
It was quite obvious that humans rarely traveled here. There were some wild Hopip scattered here and there, absorbing the sunlight that drifted down from above. The enclosed area was open to sun, Chloe noted, and saw clear skies above.
And also something large flying towards them.
An enormous Dragonite landed in front of Chloe, causing her to gulp. At first, she thought it belonged to Clair. But the dragon seemed much too old to be the one that Chloe had just battled.
It stood there, imposing to say the least, but not aggressive. It seemed more curious than anything, wondering why Chloe had come to this place.

Chloe removed the gauntlets from her arms, offering them a bit hesitantly to the Dragonite.
"I came to return these," she stated, Daimon watching from the stream cautiously. He didn't think the Dragonite would attack, but he was ready just the same.
The Dragonite examined the gauntlets in Chloe's hands momentarily, before nodding, taking them. He flashed a smile, which helped relieve Chloe's fears. He took off, heading towards the far end of the field. Chloe followed his path with her gaze, noticing that he was heading towards a small shrine.
He returned a short while later without the gauntlets, so Chloe could only assume that he had placed them there, most likely in their proper resting place before she had borrowed them.

Another pair of wings were heard as Chloe looked up. This time it was Clair's Dragonite, Chloe could tell easily, mostly because it was Clair herself perched on the dragon's back.
The gym leader landed, making Chloe wonder why she hadn't just told her that the place was accessible by flying. But she figured that finding the place must have been part of the test.
"Here," Clair stated simply, tossing Chloe the emblem of the gym, "Your badge. You've earned it at least," she offered.
"Thanks," Chloe smiled, taking the pin and adding it to her case. That left only a few more gyms before she was finally done.

"Now that you know of this place, I don't want to see you here without a reason," Clair stated, "This is a holy place for dragons. Humans are not normally accepted here."
"So what exactly is this place?" Chloe dared to question, looking around, "Its definitely special."
"That's not saying half of it," Clair assured her.
"It is a grassy, forested area with various flora, and rock cliffs walling it. It is a paradise in which Pokémon reside peacefully with one another and sometimes train to become stronger. It is only accessible through a waterfall at the end of the Dragon's Den," Chloe didn't dare correct her, saying that its also accessible through air as well...
"The part of the Dragon Holy Land immediate to the Dragon's Den entrance is a grassy, forested area with various flora, and rock cliffs walling it with the occasional stream. It continues for miles north of this, but no humans have ever traveled there. It is truly one of the last places on earth free from human influence," Clair explained.

"It is also home to this Dragonite," Clair motioned to the dragon that Chloe had encountered upon entering. The Dragonite smiled, offering a wave of a claw in greeting.
"He belonged to the very first Gym Leader of the Blackthorn Gym, my ancestor. Since the Gym Leader passed away generations ago, the Dragonite became the unofficial "guardian" of the Holy Land," Clair smiled. She clearly respected the dragon.
"Every flower in the Dragon Holy Land stays in bloom all year round, my family believes this to be attributable to a mysterious power from the Dragon Pokémon." Indeed, there were copious amounts of flowers around the area. Chloe could easily see at least a half-dozen species of plants she had never seen anywhere else before.
"So its a sacred place for dragons," Clair finished. Chloe looked towards the shrine in the distance.

"That's the Dragon Shrine," Clair elaborated, "Not like the one people train at in the caverns of the Lair."
Chloe took a closer look, spotting a structure that was situated between two columns.
"The Dragon Shrine houses a sacred golden bowl of fire. This is said to be the first fire the dragons gave to the inhabitants of Blackthorn City."
Chloe gaped, as Clair smirked, "So yes, all in all, this is a very important place to both dragon trainers, and the masters of the Blackthorn gym, as well as even the normal citizens of town, even if they don't know of its existence. We have always been indebted to dragon types here. It is important for someone such as yourself to never forget our town's dependence on dragons. Even if you chose to train them as a personal decision, rather than to go with tradition like my family."

"So why are you telling me all this? Besides my curiosity, I mean," Chloe asked. Clair smiled, shaking her head. Her expression darkened a bit as she answered.
"My cousin Lance is up to something," she stated, looking to Chloe, "I have a feeling that you know more than I do on the situation, which... irritates me. But I know that he's lost sight of this. I don't know what he has planned, but it doesn't bode well for mankind. I can only hope that you and your friends are able to stop whatever it is that he has planned."
Chloe listened silently, unsure of how Clair knew all this. But she had the feeling that the gym leaders of the different regions would have better connections than most would realize. Especially for someone like Clair who had ties to the Elite Four.

You have proven yourself to be a strong dragon trainer, otherwise defeating me would have been impossible. And finding this place even more impossible," Clair stated. She got back on her Dragonite's back, offering a hand to Chloe.
Chloe recalled Daimon, and took the offered hand, climbing on the back of Clair's Dragonite. Maybe it would be something she could brag about later on, beating her then getting to ride on the dragon master's strongest Pokemon, but for now Chloe had a lot to think about.
"Now that you've returned the gauntlets, you'll have to rely on your own strength to defeat Lance. I know that is the best way," Clair stated. Her dragon took off, and soon, Chloe was headed back towards Blackthorn.

In the growing darkness outside, as Emiri slowly walked into the entrance of the cave, her vision was flooded with darkness. Slowly making her way into the cave, her eyes slowly began to adjust to the darkness of the cave, making it a bit easier to see.
Seeing Aku in the near distance, Emiri caught up to him.
