((Damage taken directly from the Lich spell can't be healed by magic, methinks. sweatdrop Also, I think that we are actually in town, on the edge near the open field with all the kitey goodness. Yup, it's me, the mighty nitpicker. sweatdrop And now an IC post to balance out this OOC, though I have no idea what I'm going to write.))
Xander could still hear the moans of those in pain, the scuffling about of those who would lend a hand, the chattering of those trying to get their bearing in this sea of confusion. But to him, these were mere background noises on the edge of his awareness. Before his eyes was the tattered old man, the only clear vision in a cloud of bluriness. Yet where his eyes and ears failed him, his skin worked over time. Every sensation was clear to Xander, his shins driven into the rough cobblestone by his weight, the sharp pinching sensations left over from the spell, the slight breeze that had picked up from the East- all of these were clearer to him than he had ever experienced in his life.
((End filler.))

Eradiel entered the town and observed the damage. He wasn't a healer, so he couldn't help anyone who was wounded. Instead he patroled the streets with his swords drawn, searching out potential adversaries.

(Very smart, Opaj, these wounds can't be healed by magic (I almost forgot about that... sweatdrop ) So either just help people with bandages and stretchers and such, or make another clever excuse. It doesn't really matter at this point, though, so dont worry about it.)

((*Shrugs.* I'm used to unhealable wounds- opaj's (the character) main base of power springs from such wounds, so I usualy have to keep track of such info when I roleplay. *Ceases with the OOC chatter in the IC thread.* Sorry 'bout that. sweatdrop ))

((Oh, alright. I got confused because the description for Lich said "unholy damage" rather than "Unholy damage," so I just assumed that it was that element, rather than damage stemming from that particular spell. Wonderful, now I feel dumb because I made a stupid returning post. gonk ))

Hikari watched the whole thing from the rooftops. He knew that the man from the death clan was going to do something bad from the start, from the look on his face, and the way he walked. Even so, Hikari was rather surprised by the power of what came out. Still, the man had the right idea. These nonmagic simpletons didn't matter, and now they were scared of him, which was the first step to obeying. However, he was doing it wrong. You didn't make random hit-and-run attacks; you take a group and do it in front of everybody, to make an example. This...DeMarkcus could still be helpful, though. With luck, he would come around to the right way of doing things. If not, well, he would make a great example...
As Hikari turned his attention back to the scene in front of him, he noticed that among those helping were mages...makes from sky clan? How they soil their hands with those ants. Positively disgusting. How can they waste their gifts like that? Perhaps I'll have a talk with their leader sometime...they would make great examples as well. Well, as long as mages are wandering around here, I might as well go down there and try to "recruit" with that, Hikari jumped off the roof into an alley, then walked out of it, making himself blend in with the crowd, moving toward the area where he had seen the sky clan mages.
((NOTE FROM TEH EDITTING POWERS OF TEH KUJA - My name IC is DeMarkcus, Grass... sweatdrop Sorry if you didn't know...))

Lilith took a few deep breaths to quell her rising annoyance at this man, though she could understand why he was on the edge about mages if the only encounters he had were bad ones. Composed once more, she exhaled slowly and rose to her feet, speaking to Du'Galle's back.
"If all mages were like him, you'd have one hell of a time keeping the cities under control. But I'd advise you to keep an open mind about magic. It can be quite... useful at times. Luck, so that you may run into more good mages than bad."
She motioned towards Paddy to follow her back to the better part of Barton, with no intention on helping the young nor the elderly. It's not like she could have, after all. Death magic... was death magic, and it would be a waste of her time and energy to even try to reverse the damage.
God. There went her day. It had started out so well too. The mage of sky sighed inwardly again, feeling like doing something different for a change. Something to lift her out of this rather irrated mood the death mage had but her in. After all, it had been his fault. The kite would have to wait for a different day, though she did feel a p***k of guilt for otherwise occupying Paddy. But... eh, being around all these... poor impoverished people was starting to make her dirty herself.

Paddy scanned the area once more, taking notice of all the bodies and corpses strewn along the ground. It didn't need to take a rocket scientist to find out who had caused all this damage. It was all around them, even in the air. The stench of death was strong, and growing stronger as bodies started to decay. Like most of those left alive and standing, all he could do was not watch as the others grasp on what was left of their waning lives.
He coughed slightly as the aroma got to him, and shook his head as he tried to get it away from him. He held the bags closer to him with an arm, and placed his other hand above his mouth and nose. He found the strong smell of dried grass stuck on to his palm when he had fiddled around with them on the field. The scent was strong, and it had enough strength to overwhelm most of the death's stench.
The giant followed the sky clan leader towards the better and unaffected areas of Barton. He moved over the bodies with ease, and tried not to step on some of the bodies. He was glad that they were leaving the place, though a bit saddened at all the deaths, and the injured children. He had some soft spot for kids, reminding him of his life early on. It also then reminded him of the kite he had lost, but alteast it was going to keep him busy while going along with Lilith since she was probably going to take hours of shopping to make up for this bad day.

((OOC: gonk Just when things get interesting, I'm offline for a day... Ending with a post like this, and no interaction at all...))
Still breathing heavily, Meric silently cursed himself. He had made some unforgivable mistakes today. He had underestimated the strenght of the Lich field, and had allowed himself to be weakened by it's effect. He had been lucky the field was dispelled, and thet noone chose to engage him at that time, or he would have been in serious trouble. Sure, he managed to find out what he hanted to find out -and more- during the events following the dispelling, but he would have been able to move quicker, find out more, and -most importantly- remain unnoticed, if he had just waited outside the field, and made his move after the Lich's influence had left.
Still, there was little use in regretting his actions now. He had managed to catch glimpses of various interesting people, and the information he had gathered -and was still gathering- would without doubt prove useful in the future. The only clan that was nowhere to be seen during the chaos had been clan Earth. Even though he hadn't managed to learn a whole lot about each clan's members and abilities, he now knew a little bit about most of the clans. In time that little bit would be the base of his... research. After that, he would have to decide what to do with his knowledge... 'Oh well... I'll see when I get there. After all, there's no deadline, no contract... just a bit of harmless interest.' Meric grinned. In situations like this, there was bound to be some opportunity for profit and personal gain. And, for someone like him, there was bound to be a way to find that opportunity.

Xander could feel his pulse in his ears, each beat dizzying and disorienting him. He was now floating- no, not floating, he was standing now. Forward he drifted, until he was once more kneeling next to his father. And again in the air, an oppresive weight on his back...
And so Xander came to be wandering the city aimlessly, performing confused circles between his old home and his new home, a corpse slung over his shoulders.

Eradiel saw Xander wandering aimlessly, the corpse of his deceased father slung over one shoulder. He moved swiftly in that direction.

Machina Aquarius turned. Someone cast this spell. He just didn't know who. He went over to aid the wounded. "Whoever cast that spell was powerful, there's no doubt about that. And here was me, about to try to kill him myself! I guess I just need to train more."

((Urk, I'm not going to edit meh post, because that would render some other comments moot, and might confuse people checkingback after a day or two, but let's just assume that I tried to heal people, failed, and then spazzed out about the "stench" of Death, shall we? xp ))
Out in the fresh air again. Al'e was next to the fountain, trying to drown out the sounds of the hurt and mourning, but there was no hope for it. The cries of pain from those caught by the spell and screams of fright as mothers found their children lying in the street seemed to be echoing from all sides, though they only came from one direction. She plugged her ears and tried to meditate, but couldn't concentrate. Then a wonderful idea ocurred to her. If she couldn't use magic to help people, she could go assist the local healer. Embarrassed that this idea hadn't ocurred to her before, she rushed off to find somone knowledgable in mundane versions of Cleansing, and came becak to fill a container with water, as an afterthought.
((Oy, not a phenomenal post, but at least it gives you people an idea of where I am))

His eyes lolling about from object to object, Xander seemed completely unaware of his surroundings. When his gaze fixed on Eradiel, it took him a moment to recognize the swordsman.
"Era... diel..." Xander stopped abruptly. "You wouldn't believe... what's happened..."

"It would seem that a member of the Death Clan has been active," Eradiel responded, his tone serious. "Have you seen anyone who might be responsible?"
The swordsman's eyes never met Xander's. Instead they scanned the alleys and rooftops for aggressors.
