Kelinor staggered slightly as she found herself suddenly waist deep in water. The scream of transition turned into a faint gasp as the cold water surprised her, and then she closed her mouth, staring in wonder at the landscape around. Teal'c scampered up to her shoulder, as far from the clear water as possible. His owner put her hand up absently to pet him, still absorbed in her surroundings. This was incredible! But where... would you find creatures here? Apart from little fish, she added silently, looking down to where her legs appeared wobbly and rippled beneath the water and the small things darting here and there. She attempted to move forward, scrunching up her face slightly as she realised the ground was not completely solid; then twisted to look behind her as she heard a new noise.

Epine released a slight grunt of displeasure as her body gave a shudder - the cold water hit her like a brick and although she was rarely affected by the cold, sudden bouts of it were not a pleasant experience for her. Nevertheless her face was a picture for now, she glared towards Kel in what appeared to be an expression between annoyance and amusement - in ways she was pleased that someone had taken the intiative to leap in but in other ways she was not pleased to have to lunge in after her and to get drenched in the process.
"Pleasant place this." She mused at last, wading through the water with a light grimace until she reached Kel's side; glancing down only briefly to poke at the surface beneath her with her booted toe - it was squidgey!
"But perhaps we should have brought fish bowls as well as nets." She murmured with a sigh.

The water didn't seem so cold now, and Kel-chan grinned as she saw another from the clearing arrive. "Why didn't we think of that, this age being called Oceania and all?" She replied, referring to the comment. "Maybe we have plastic bags? And when the person with the Myst linking book comes trough, we can always go get some fishbowls... right?"
A few avians wheeled overhead in the clear sunny sky, and the redhead squinted into the sun as she looked around. "The others are coming, aren't they?" Teal'c chittered lightly in her ear.

"If they don't then I suggest you start praying that we evolve into aquatic beasts some time soon." Epine pointed out sarcastically as she waded a little further forward and grunted in brief annoyance as Ana leapt onto her head and clung for dear life to her hair - she absolutely hated the water and being in a world full of it wasn't particularly good for her nerves.
Nevertheless, with a sigh the woman began to adjust to the cold temperature of the water and continued to observe her surroundings with interest. First and foremost, she was curious as to exactly what she was standing on and secondly - she gazed ahead of her and narrowed her eyes as she caught sight of the massive spires, what were they?
"According to the letter we have to wait for a 'leader' anyway so..." She pursed her lips and shrugged, "I hope you like the prune look." She murmured.

N'rris materialized and sent a menacing hiss towards the two foolish shes that had come before him. Having been in this world before, under Atrus' care, he knew enough to know that such foolish mistakes could get you grieviously wounded here.
Shooting one last disdained look at the two-legs, he paddled to the platform that held the journal. Shaking off the water from his coat and each limb in turn, he set to licking himself dry and waited for his charge to appear.
At least she wasnt so foolish... he hoped.
Wyvern came next and gasped when the cold water seeped into her skin. Seeing the cat on dry land, she scampered over to him, wringing out her clothes as much as possible and wondering why they couldn't have gone to some place warmer...
Zane had arrived, though no one knew it. He wasn't very tall and the water was above his head. Breathing a lungfull of the chilly water, Zane became disoriented and flopped and splashed in an attempt to right himself.
Having materialized right after Zane, Quinn was suprised that she didnt see him. The splashing immediately before her baffled her until she saw a black paw flailing. Gasping, she ducked under the chill surface and hugged her friend tightly and then stood, water dripping heavily from both of them.
Luckily, his pack had been well secured and they lost none of their cargo, though it was sodden. Quinn was happy she had thought to pack things in Ziplocs after learning they were headed to a water world.
Kissing the Kanin, she drapped him over her shoulders and trudged up to the platform where N'rris waited. He sat next to an old book, peering at her meaningfully.

Quinn had been planning on chastising the others, but the shock of all the water and the near drowning of her friend, focused her mind on the task at hand. Looking down at N'rris, she asked, "What should we do? You're the guide, so guide us."
The big cat stood on his hind legs and dropped a massive paw on the ragged book that sat on the pedastal next to him. "You want me to open in?" Quinn asked. N'rris gave her hand the smallest lick in acquiescense and sat back down to groom.
"Alright," Quinn replied and opened the worn and tattered cover.
((Now we must wait for Winter. You guys can explore the water around the pedastals... maybe try to discover what we are standing on...))

Kel-chan looked a little guilty as she realised that not everyone had followed her. But the bizarreness of the Age made her forget that, the sunny ocean world such a difference from the twilit forest grove she had been in moments before.
Hefting her pack, a little chagrined to realise the bottom of it was wet, she decided to do a lot of looking, not touching. She didn't want to get into more trouble... Quinny was over by the pedestal, the one with the tattered book upon it. If Quinny was there, with her guardian as well, she couldn't be told off for looking... wading through with difficulty, she beckoned to Epine and squished over to some dry land, Teal'c hopping with a squeak onto the blessedly dry land.

Dov squealed in surprise as he found himself suddenly in cold water, really cold water. ..but what's this? The water was deeper but he was standing on something, a sponge maybe? Dov shuffled his feet a little and he was sure if the sponge wasn't submerged in water it would have made a squishing sound.
"Eww," Dov thought to himself, "what if it's some type of bouncy animal dung?"
Disgusted by his own thinking, Dov scanned the area quickly. Looking at the shore he noticed Quinny and their guardian.
"Oooh land," he said outloud as he made his way to it. When Dov got to the land he thought about shaking off like a dog but that didn't seem right. Woah, that water was cold. He shook his foot a little and droplets off water flew off of him. Once he got bored of that he waddled over to Quinny, his clothing soaked.

"Whoosh," Wyvern commented to nobody in particular. Shading her forehead with a hand, she scanned the horizon, just drinking it all in: the spires, the pedestals, and the ocean that seemed to stretch on to eternity. "I bet this place orgasmic at night," she said, a rather dreamy grin on her face.
With a grunt and a heave, she hauled herself to her feet, unconcerned about the well moistened state of her clothing. As a thought occured to her, her face darkened, brassy eyes narrowing and she inched closer to the shallows. Carefully, she ran her fingers through the water, then raised her hand to her face and focused intently as the water beaded and fell back to where it came from at gravity's command. Still thinking, she extended one digit and flicked out her tongue to lick a droplet from her skin.
"Hnnn," she mused.
((Need clarification: is it salt-water?))

Epine simply shot a hateful glare towards Quinny - so they had another control freak on their team; this was why she often avoided travelling with people who had been granted 'gifts', they always acted as though they were superior and the others around them were lesser beings. That being said, she made a note to ignore Quinny as much as possible and instead, to pay greater attention to Sosiqui's orders for the other girl seemed to appreciate the importance of a diverse team.
Shaking her head however, the woman followed after Kel with a brief grunt and stepped onto the dry land, her expression completely readable - if she had to deal with Quinny the entire journey then she was going to make a disclaimer: She was not going to be responsible if the woman drowned - she'd claim she was provoked.
That being done however, she seemed perfectly content to stand where she was as her rebellious nature overcame her, she was tempted to make this new "leader's" life hell for being so snobbish when she had come through the book - Epine had done her duty in attempting to ensure Kel's safety, in her eyes there was nothing wrong with that.

"Should I swear or shall you?" Epine mumbled begrudgingly as she unsheathed the pair of blades upon her back and sized up the creature. She was never one to feel terror but at the sheer size of this creature she couldn't help but feel a little apprehensive - even the hair on the back of her neck had begun to rise and she certainly knew that this was perhaps one of the biggest challenges she had ever faced.
"Erm - we come in peace?" She offered at last, although mentally she was rephrasing the sentence to say 'we come in pieces'...
Nevertheless, behind her her little Rishlan had caught sight of the peculiar creatures behind the large leviathan like creature and was very stealthily fluttering towards them - she seemed confident enough that her mistress could handle the leviathan (even though she couldn't really) and was more concerned with catching the little creatures - they looked like good food and didn't someone say they had to catch them anyway?

Dov was laying down, watching the water and then suddenly a huge creature appears. What was with this island? He thought it was safe. Now, a bit frightened he looked directly at the large creature, but wait.. there were things behind it. They didn't look quite so big and scary, actually.. they looked sort of cute.
Pulling out his bag of gadgets, Dov looked for something that would be useful. A brush? Nope... A thermos? Nah uh.. Some graham crackers? Hm.. What did these wee little things eat anyways? Maybe that big creature was friendly and just scared? Dov looked back at the creature and gulped, didn't look too friendly to him.
Just then, Dov noticed Epine, he squealed in delight, he wasn't alone! The creature lashed its tail out, making a wave of water. That was it for Dov. He took off screaming like a little girl and ran over to Epine. He dropped down behind her and buried his head under a bag he brought with him. That creature was NOT friendly.

"Oh great - just what I need." Epine muttered from in front of Cov before narrowing her eyes, the plans formulating in her mind as she kept her blades at eye level. "Listen, take the net from my belt and try to catch those little creatures." She began at last, motioning with her head slightly to direct attention to her belt where a fish net lay.
"My Rishlan will help you," She added and then grimaced as she braced herself for what she was about to do, "I'll distract mommy dearest while you do and even if I scream - ignore me, it's a normal war cry." She explained calmly before readjusting the grasp on her blade and sprinting forward towards the large leviathan like creature.
Meanwhile, aforementioned Rishlan gave a light chirp and began to move around towards the little fish, herding them in a similar fashion to that of a sheep dog...

The stava utterly fails to react to the spoken words. Either it can't understand language because it isn't a sentient being, or it doesn't understand Epine's language in general, or it doesn't care -- it's hard to tell. What it does do, however, is push itself up higher out of the water, and reveal more of it's body. It's easily forty feet long, but lithe and skinny, looking more like a huge eel than anything; but much more refined and beautiful, in a rather terrifying sort of way.
It snarls wordlessly down at the group below it, beady eyes fixing upon Epine and swinging in her direction. Sunlight glitters off of several slightly yellowed teeth. It hisses, drawing it's head back and down, like a cobra about to strike, and it glares at the two humans.
Behind her, the three little creatures mill about rather uselessly. One, the dark blue one, lets out a whining chirrup as it spots the Rishlan. The other, lighter blue one has wandered after Dovaxy, letting out several little mrrups as it goes, as if it were a gosling following it's father.
