After taking his bath, Shuji climbed into bed, and closed his eyes. He didn't hear the noise that came from outside of the house. It seemed that someone had an interest in his family. As he dreamed, more noise arose, but didn't wake him. He was exhausted from training with Shinji-sensei.

There was a noise coming from his room, and it didn't sound friendly. Slowly, Shuji climbed out of bed, and grabbed some kunai. He didn't know what was going on, be he knew that his best bet was to be prepared. As he crept closer to the door, the noise stopped, as it startled. He drew in a quick breath, and held it. As he held his breath, he threw open the door, drew up his kunai, and then sighed loudly. It had been a cat rummaging through various things in his kitchen. With a soft chuckle, he picked the cat up, placed it outside, and then went back to bed. It was too early in the morning for this crap.

Shuji gathered all his things, and left his house. He said goodbye to his parents as he started to short walk to where he was to meet Scout-sensei so they could start thier mission. He was happy to start working like a Shinobi, but he couldn't help but wonder if he was truly ready. With a shrug, he dashed off to the meeting place, leaving his house and his family behind him.

Shuji's mother watched as he left, and smiled. So he was finally going to be a Shinobi. She was worried about him, as any mother would be. It wasn't everyday that your child took on one of the most dangerous professions in the world. Being a Shinobi meant putting your life on the line every day in an attempt to help the Village.

Shuji's parents were doing their usual schedule of nothing for the day. His father didn't seem to have any work, and his mother had done all the chores around the house that she felt were necessary. It was an odd feeling for both of them. They were both of Jounin rank here in the Gaioh Village, and also in Otogakure. They couldn't imagine why the Village hadn't come looking for them. After all, they were the primary family in Otogakure. They had been the only family to even use Sound-based jutsu, which was unusual for a village being named for Sound.
Looking at one another, they considered perhaps going to the arena to witness the fight Shuji was in. They knew he had advanced to the next round, even though he hadn't been home in a while. He was a very busy boy, and they wouldn't hold it against him. With a smile to one another, they embraced each other, and looked at the door. There was an odd feeling that someone was watching, but they weren't really sure.
"They wouldn't send a team into the Village, especially when they're one of the smallest and weakest," Shuji's father said proudly as he let go of his wife and headed over toward the stove. He wanted a cup of tea, and thus started to boil the water. The trip would have to wait, and besides, they didn't want to make Shuji nervous.

Shuji stood in front of his house, looking at the door. He hadn't been home in a while. He had been so busy training, and going off on missions that he hadn't stopped by to see his folks. He wondered if they had heard about his advancement to Chuunin rank yet. With a broad smile on his face, he opened the door and stepped inside.

A Few Weeks Later Shuji was outside, looking into the woods. He had been troubled by some of the things that seemed to be happening around the Gaioh Village. He was mostly bothered by the fact that now he was a Chuunin, and it seemed that he had done nothing to help the village. Sighing, he dropped himself down onto the ground, and started to do one-handed push-ups. He needed to improve his physical strength so he could compete against the others in the village in a more balanced way. Right now, he was relying too much on Ninjutsu and Genjutsu. He needed to conserve chakra, and the best way to do this would be to train. He started to count, and didn't hear as his father and mother came out of the house to see him.
They had both come from Otagakure, where they had been of the Jounin rank. This was before there had come a need for them to evacuate. Shuji's father could have been the next in line to be Otakage, had it not been for the rouge ninja from their own village that had decided to take everything over. He had been too strong for the rest of the Shinobi, causing many of them to fall in line and follow without question. Shuji's father had not been one of those men, and had taken it upon himself to lead his wife and child out of the village, and into the arms of a new home. This is when they had found Gaioh. It was here that Shuji was born, but he still loved his original village, even if he had never lived there.
Shuji had just completed about twenty push-ups when he felt a hand touch his shoulder. Looking up, he saw his parents looking down at him, and he smiled happily. "What can I do for you guys," he asked politely. He was curious as to what they could need, because they had basically given him his own independence ever since he had become a Genin. Once he was out of the academy, they had regarded him as another adult in the house, even though he was only twelve."Shuji," his father started. "We'd like to help you train. As I'm sure you may know, we were both jounin ranked Shinobi in Otagakure. We could help you further your training and become even stronger. However, we won't go easy on you, and it will be very difficult. It's up to you," he said with a nod. Shuji's mother stood next to him, nodding as well. She wasn't sure if he was ready for a two-on-one training session, especially against two Jounin, but at the very least he'd get a lot out of it.

Shuji finished another push-up. As he came to the top, he rolled forward, and caught himself with his hand, pushing himself up above the ground. As he did the handstand, his eyes moved toward the faces of his parents, and he slowly nodded his head. "That sounds like fun," Shuji said, pushing off the ground. He tried to make it to his feet, but there wasn't enough strength in the push. Instead, he merely flopped himself onto his back. With a sigh, he stood up and brushed himself off. "I'm ready to start whenever you guys are," he said with a nod.
Shuji's father, without saying another word, turned and walked into the house. A few moments later, he walked back out of the house carrying two belts. Looking over to Shuji, he placed the belts next to Shuji, and motioned for him to pick them up. "These are for you," he said quietly. You'll need them in order to train with us. They'll help you tremendously."
Shuji glanced at the belts, feeling rather skeptical, and moved to pick them up. Wrapping his hands around them, he pulled, and was met with so much resistance that he was certain his arms would rip off. The belts were actually weights that could be worn around the legs or the arms, weighing them down considerably. This would then require the user to exert more energy in order to the muscles to move. In this way, the muscles would grow stronger over time. A puzzled look crept across Shuji's face as he looked at the belts, and then back to his father. "But if I wear these, I'll only be weighed down more. Then I'd be easier to hit. That would be stupid."
His father shrugged, and his mother stepped forward to speak. "Shuji," she started, "While it's true that the weights will make you heavier, at the same time, they can help to make you faster. As you wear them, your limbs will grow accustomed to the weight. You'll be able to move them at a normal rate with them on. However, once you take them off, there will be even less resistance, and you'll be able to move faster. Just imagine how much your taijutsu could improve in this way. It would be incredible." She smiled, and waited to see what Shuji would do.
"Well, I guess you're right," he said as he grabbed the weights and put them around his legs. Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to stand and immediately lost balance. There was now so much weight focused on his legs that it was almost impossible to stand. Taking another deep breath, Shuji took one step toward his parents, his face growing red from exertion. His small twelve year old body was having a hard time adjusting to the weights. It was going to take a lot of training to get anywhere in them. Looking at his parents, he nodded his head.
"I'll be your opponent for now," his mother said, stepping forward. "You've already faced your father before, and you're not ready to take on both of us yet. Attack me when you're ready," she said with a smile.

Shuji lifted his left foot, starting to take a step toward his mother. The weight was too much however, and before he knew it, he was heading toward the ground. As he fell, he noticed something coming toward his very quickly. It was a knee, and it was coming from his mother. Shuji quickly threw all of his weight to the left, and barely moved out of the way, her knee passing just centimeters past his face. With a sigh of relief, he pushed himself into a standing position, and tried again. Lifting his foot again, he was able to slam it into the ground before he lost his balance. Doing the same with his right, he was able to gain a little momentum. However, it wasn't long before his mother was on the move again.
Coming from Shuji's left side, she quickly approached his back, her fist drawn back, ready to deliver a blow to his kidney. It was true that their training methods seemed harsh, but they had gone through the same thing with their parents. It was a tradition in Otagakure to train in such a manner, and both of them planned to uphold this. With a heavy sigh, she finally got close enough to Shuji to make the attack. Her fist flew, aiming right for the fleshy soft area of his back where his kidney would be hiding itself.
Shuji could hear the air move as him mother approached him, and quickly made some hand seals. The punch connected, and he exhaled sharply before vanishing in a puff of smoke. He had used the replacement jutsu. However, he had forgotten just how heavy the weights on his legs were when he placed himself in the air above his mother. In a matter of seconds, he was flying down, feet first toward his mother. He smiled, getting an idea, and started to make more hand seals. He knew that this was supposed to be a taijutsu training exercise, but until he could maneuver with the weights on. As he flew down, he drew his leg back. At the very least, he'd get a good kick on his mother before he crashed into the ground.
Shuji's mother knew that he'd use the replacement jutsu. He wasn't ready to fight solely with taijutsu while wearing those weights. He was going to need a lot of practice moving around before he could start fighting her without ninjutsu. Looking up at him, she saw his foot coming toward her. Lifting her arms, she intercepted the kick, but the impact still knocked her back. She was glad that it had, or else both of her forearms would have been shattered. Shaking her head clear, she stood back up, and started to run toward Shuji. She had started to make up a plan that he was sure to enjoy. Sorry Shuji, she thought as she closed in on him. In about five seconds, Shuji was going to find it very hard to use his arms for ninjutsu. Reaching him, she placed a hand on his shoulder, and swung herself around behind him. Taking her index and middle finger, she started to jab into his back, aiming to his any nerves that would disable his arms. He needed to learn how to survive without jutsu.
Shuji was relieved that he had made the hand seals when he did. As his mother started to jab him, she started to hit into a few logs that Shuji had used to replace himself with. Another replacement jutsu. This time, he had used his head and placed himself under ground. While it was true that he'd have to lift himself from underneath the ground, it was better than having to crash on the ground and possibly get critically injured. He started to pull himself up out of the ground at the some moment that his mother noticed his hiding spot. Cursing himself, he tried his best to get back underground, but it was too late. A foot smacked across his mouth, throwing his head to the side. He was then grabbed by the shoulders, and lifted to the ground. His mother had him right where she wanted him.

Akimoto slowly approaches the house with no noise coming from her motion. Seeing that she might drop by to say hi or some sort seeing that really now a days no one really talked to her much anymore. She started to feel like it was back in the old days when she had started on her path of becoming a ninja. She stops looking at the house for a moment letting out soft sigh, What am I doing? ,she thought to herself.

Shuji's father, watching the two of them engage in the fight, noticed something amiss, and quickly vanished. He then quickly re-appeared behind Aki and gently reached out to touch her shoulder. "Can I help you, Miss," he asked politely. He didn't know who Aki was, but he wasn't too worried, since she seemed to come from the village.

She felt the hand on her shoulder and looks at it with her left eye which was a violet color. She turns around to face the man with an expressionless face. " You probably don't know me huh?" she asked and shrugs her shoulders lightly. She knew it might happen anyways, but she had never met Shuji's father before. She stepped back extending her hand, "Akimoto Michicyo," she said.

Nodding, Shuji's father took Aki's hand, and shook it. "It's nice to finally meet you, Aki. Shuji speaks very highly of you. My name is Ryo. If you'd like to speak to him, he's out in the back yard training with his mother. Just be sure to let them know you're here. I'd hate for you to get caught up in the cross fire," he said politely.

Highly of me?, she thought just a tad surprised. She nods lightly at the information Shuj's father had given to her and walks around the back watching Shuji and his mother go at each other. She stood off to the side for a bit letting her hair fall infront of her violet eye as she waited for a few moments. "Shuji," she said in a loud, but calm tone as she stood.
