Kain nodded. "You seem very agile, Elf. I will distract them, and you just get to the darn mage." he said as he jumped back from a slash toward his left leg. "And hurry! I can't dodge every attack."

Amber nodded once, in affirmation. Crouching low, she sprung forward, dodging quickley between the two remaining warriors. She defended their blows easily, and hurried through the fog. The mage was deep in his trance, one of the drawbacks of being a mage. Your body was vunerable while you are casting. Too late, she realised her mistake. There was a fourth soldier, hiding behind the mage. Of course, he would never leave his body totally unprotected.

Kain watched as the elf drew near the mage. As she tried to attack the mage, he saw her mistake. Throwing caution to the winds, he ran towards her, giving the shadow warriors a clear shot at his back. One of them took the chance and attacked Kain, flinging him to the ground. As Kain looked up the elf had already been attacked, and was on the ground clutching her wounded arm. As Kain tried to rise, another swing placed him on the ground again, 'Raven, where are you?' he thought to himself.

Amber bit back a scream as the blade slashed through the muscles in her arm, forcing her to the ground. The pain! It was terrible, beyond what she had imagined. Fighting for control, she slowly got to her feet, oblivious to what was happening to the boy. With difficulty, she sheathed her scimitars, and drew her broadsword. Holding it one-handed, she launched a new attack upon the shadow warrior.

Kain rolled to his back deflecting the next attack coming from above, "Watch your left!" Kain shouted to Amber, Kain kicked at the nearest shadow as he got to his feet, "and please watch yourslef."

"I'm fine!" She shouted through gritted teeth. She raised her sword to defend an attack, and quickly got in with a hit of her own. Unfortunatly, this created more fog, but the mage was unprotected now.

Kain jumped to the side as one of the shadowed knights tried to thrust there sword, "Calm down" he yelled "I'm only protecting your behind, i mean, it's not that importent is it?" he asked sarcasticly as he beheaded a shadow.

"My 'behind' is none of your concern." Amber slashed at the mage, but felt a jarring sensation in her arm as her sword meet a magical sheild. She fell back a little, and looked around, muttering softly to herself.

Raven ran up the trail, a strange fog weaving through the trees. His mind was worrying about the problem of the Dark Army, so he didn't notice right away that his brother and the elf were in danger.

Kain turned to see the shield stop Ambers attack, "Want me to take care of him?" He asked swinging through another shadow, "If not, then I leave you to it" he added as a shadow swung and missed his left leg, "woah, to close" he muttered to himself.

Amber looked at him, blood from her shoulder running down her arm. "Do I LOOK like I can do this on my own?" She tried pointlessly to lift her left arm. Then, her eyes caught sight of something through the fog. She just prayed it wasn't more of those things.

Kain nodded "Might want to stand clear of my arm" he said raising his left arm into the air, suddenly a small ball of light started to apear from nowhere, "Cover me, this takes time!" he demanded, "unless you want to see some more blood?"

Amber looked at him, dumbstruck, before her reflexes forced her to bring her sword up to defend a blow from one of the creatures. "You have as long as my arm holds out, boy." She shouted, turning and engaging the fiend in combat.

Kain watched the woman fight, she was extreamly skilled with a sword, yet for an elf didnt seem to posses any skill in magical arts, as Kain stare at the woman a feeling suddely went through him, "This woman seems to have no clue what magic is, how could this be? i thought all elves had the power since birth?"he asked in his head, "Such a strange person, I have an erge to ask her, but it seems rude, i suppose i will ask later, for now, i guess-" before he could finish thinking, pain sprang through his chest, Kain looked down to see blood running down his chest, he let our a roar and lifted his blade from the ground, swinging it up through the shadow's head and kicking it back, he was losing to much blood, "Elf!" he called, "Clear the path, I only have one shot".

Amber was about to reply in a scathing voice, but remembered he was trying to help her. Savagely, she cut the shadow out of the way. If he was quick, he had a window of a few seconds to do it. "Quickly!" She screamed at him.
