I've been watching anime (even though back then it was just generalized as "cartoons") ever since Voltron (Hyakujuu Ou Golion) came out in the early 80's. then in my 20's my friends got a hold of The Guyver, Kobudo, Ninja Scroll and Battle Angel Alita (Gunnm) and it pretty much took good solid root there.
It wasn't till my girlfriend came along though that it became acceptable for me to embrace the otakuness, as she is a much bigger one than I am truthfully. And from there it spiraled out of control, 1-5 mangas a week, fansubbed anime, accounts on every anime news channel... yah... I have no life.
