I'm an OK Japanese conversation parter, if you ever need practice. I'm a language dork xd
And I got homework on my first day of school. Our math teacher's mean stressed Actually, he's probably one of the nicest and most laid-back teacher's you'll ever meet, but he gives a LOT of homework...

Yeah. I just got a teacher like that too. He's a nervous little man that is sweet and obviously cares about his students. But the homework he gives is simply amazing! not only is it a lot of homework, it's all busy work and utterly stupid! I hoped that college wouldnt have homework like that! It makes me grumble as I leave class everyday.
And yeah, he's a math teacher too.

My math teacher is kind of weird. o__O Y'know how sometimes adults try to be cool by using "hip" new words and stuff? And they end up being the opposite of cool? That's him. Its kind of frightening. He gives out reasonable amounts of homework, though. All my teachers do. The only times I feel overwhelmed are when they all assign it at once(which was the first weekend) or if I have to do a group project all by myself(like last Thursday).

Hmmm...so maybe math teachers are just a little weird and screwed up by nature? So far that's the only conclusion I can see.

I think all teachers are like that. I mean, dealing with a class full of (usually) immature students on a daily basis? That's bound to drive anyone nuts.
Then again, that's just through my experience, and I'm only three weeks into my freshman year of highschool. So maybe it gets better. I'm doubtful, though.

I've had pretty deccent teachers... though my 2nd grade teacher was kinda mean... well sorta strict. I traced the number she wrote for a test score 'cause I sorta liked her handwriting and she was all like, "Did I ask you to trace over the score?" or something like that. Yeah, okay that isn't the WORST a teacher could do, but like I said, I was in 2nd grade and I was twice as sensitive as I am now. The only time things seem crazy at school is at the end of the year.
In 7th grade, my teachers were all tense on me (almost EVERY teacher I had) at the end of the school year... one or two of my teachers even made me cry... though it's sort of understandable that the teachers were tense 'cause they want the students to pass... but I mean it seemed so ridiculous that year and I thought every teacher was out to get me or something.
And about the homework, it really depends on the teacher. There will be some teachers that will pass a student if they get all of their tests right and do all of their classwork, or there might be some teachers that will pass students if they do all of the projects and do all of their homework... but really, it does depend on the teacher. They might have had some slackers in the class {I do most of my work (or I try to attempt to), but I'm somewhat a slacker depending on how lazy I am xp } and the teachers want to just get their point across to the students.

I had two teachers for second grade, one for English, Writing, Reading, etc. and the other for everything else. The other teacher was mean to everyone. DX She made me cry in class once. And I was not a very sensitive child. I just didn't like being called stupid, which wasn't a problem seeing as I was a freaky little brainiac.
I had just moved from a small-ish town in Oklahoma. We were talking about why we had parades for whatever reason, and my school had done something to win a Disney parade. So I raised my hand and said you could win parades. Then she asked why and I said that we had done so in Bartlesville(where I had come from). Then she said something along the lines of "Well, Miss Bartlesville, here in Houston we don't win parades" like I was the biggest idiot in the world. And everyone started laughing at me. >.> Yeah, I'm still a little angry about that. Almost seven years later.

Teachers aren't suppose to tell their students they're stupid, they're suppose to encourage the students.
And that didn't really make sense (about the remark your teacher gave; even that sounded strict stare that's mean). There are a lot of cities that have different ways of doing things (same with states, counteries, etc.).

I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, that we are talking about teachers and their crazy, strict, or caring attributes. We were talking about individuals, but it seems to have broadened to teachers in general at times.

I generally like all my teachers; they're usually very nice, or funny, or just cool.
I love my English/writing teacher. She's about the nicest person you'll ever meet eek And I've never heard a bad remark about her, ever (and kids always comment, even on the nicest). And they all respect her, too, even though I'd think they would walk all over someone like her.
