Forgedawn Hermonie Urameshi Forgedawn I'm putting it together... here's a preview of it biggrin PLEASE get it in if you haven't already! Oh, I didn't add Anzer Pex. Don't worry, it's not done yet! I go out of the country, and this place falls apart! burning_eyes rolleyes Also, I found this paper with all these alternate versions of the Kintaran alphabet biggrin from... 7th grade? xd But now I must sleep. Rumour has it that sleep is good for silly sick people like me. Sorry, I'm trying to juggle a ton of stuff and I tend to forget to take care of things. D:

I have the whole "stuff exists and I don't" issue too razz absurdly often, too emo wahmbulance mad D It's not a new outfit, I've had it for a long time...but I switched away from it into yellowness for a few months.

Alright then, I'm commandeering the banner project until someone else wants to or is able to take over. Heaven or Hell Let's Rock! domokun Currently on the agenda: *Add in High Vadeshkii DONE *Spiff up the fonts of the English names DONE *Spiff up and edit the text DONE *Get more conlangs in!!So far, I've got usable script images for Aquenandi, Kintarasesa, my Anzer Pex, Teaijayazi, Etiktik, and High Vadeskii. I can probably add in many more and still have a reasonably sized animated gif. If you want to be in the banner or want me to use a different image/script than what is in the current banner (see my sig), just let me know and I'll probably have it added or changed in a day or two.

Hermonie Urameshi I like this font better than the other one I had. whee Alright~ I'll see about getting that updated in the next couple of days. This banner carries a curse... I've been suddenly very busy since I last updated it. gonk EDIT: Son of a... I'm gonna have to stop quoting people so that I can stop accidentally editing everyone's posts. >_< Oh, and is anyone here really good with Java or programming in general?? Hehe....

I'm revising the Aquenandi writing system again. It works really well for the language, but it's too "Tolkienish" so I'm going to have to scrap it. D:
ARGH. Why did Tolkien have to use an abjad with vowel diacritics?

Eccentric Iconoclast I'm revising the Aquenandi writing system again. It works really well for the language, but it's too "Tolkienish" so I'm going to have to scrap it. D: ARGH. Why did Tolkien have to use an abjad with vowel diacritics? He used vowel diacritics? Hmm, I never bothered looking into any of his conlangs. I think I only looked at his rune stuff and some of his Elvish words in a glossary, but never bothered with the actual scripts. Tolkienish isn't bad, though. You can have an impure abjad without having to use diacritics... The vowel implications can be given other ways, such as altering the shapes of the consonants or connecting special vowel shapes to given points on consonant symbols. It's not really a diacritic if it's a change of shape. Or you could just make it outright abugida. I like abugida Oh jeez, I'm getting that tingly feeling like I'm about to crank out another conlang script >_< Well, lemme know when you've got a usable script sample for the banner. domokun

I'm considering making it look a -lot- like the current one, using the diacritics to mark shifts in consonants instead of vowels, and having it be a syllabary.
That's actually a lot like Japanese, isn't it?:O

But Tolkien had to use it. Curses! And now I can't without being called a "Tolkien wannabe."

Sure, use diacritics, but don't make them look anything like what Tolkien used. Or like I said before, you could just turn the diacritics into modifications of or additions to the consonants rather than separate marks of their own. I don't really like syllabaries, myself. They often severely limit the number of unique words you can form without having a bunch of homophones. Japanese is terrible about homophones. >_< Or you could just say foof to it all, and make it an outright alphabet with a single unique letter for every sound, which I'm assuming for Aquenandi would just mean taking the diacritics and making them into their own vowel letters.
