I got the cloth I'm using today ^^ I've mostly stuck with a green and gold theme, since some of the fancy brocaid fabrics were on sale that had some great Chinese patterns to them. Genbu is trickier than Seiryuu or Suzaku in that Genbu himself is black, and the supposed color associated to Genbu is black, but in the anime as well as the manga the marks are green, and the overall color given to Genbu thus far has been green. So I tried going for silver, green, and black, but it didn't quite work out that way. I guess I'm lucky the picture isn't in color so that I can't be too attacked on my choices. Either way, I felt like Green was the more important shade to stick with x_x I'll have pictures soon!

I though that you were going to make a costume based on this. Now I'm even more curious to see the result. ^^

I was thinking about it... but I have two friends of mine who are doing some really awesome Suzaku and Seiryuu costumes. So I volunteered to represent Genbu ^^ So we're going to have a whole Fushigi Yuugi photoshoot going, which should be awesome. We've even got a Nakago! *squeals*

(Oh and when I have decent progess shots of my actual costume that are recognizeable I'll post 'em but for now, props are all I've got ^^;; wink

The Manda So I'm currently working on the "priestess" outfit preview we've kind of been given in Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden, for Otakon in August. I started off by working on the Genbu Shinzahou, since I like working with clay. And this is how it has come out: Its not perfect mind you, but I'm very pleased with how it came out and am really looking forward to starting on the rest of the costume soon. That is so awesome

Hotaru-hime crying crying crying *weeps with all her strength* aiiii... I can barely cosplay... 1. No money. 2. No can make t3h clothes 3. Even if can make t3h clothes, no can wear. 4. Why no can wear?! Because I'm a Muslim and most anime outfits show off... a little too much. *sighs* you could be the rabbit-girl, Nyozeka. in rabbit form she is not at all revealing.

I've not yet cosplayed any of her characters, but my sister and friend want to do a trio cosplay from Fushigi Yugi, and I decided to be Nuriko. I initially wanted me and my friend to be Amiboshi and Suboshi while my sister was Yui. Sadly, my sister hasn't read too much of Fushigi Yugi yet and she doesn't want to be Yui because she thinks she's a b***h >.

Here's the deal. I want to cosplay at an anime convention, but I can't figure out who to do it as. So I want to get some advice. The convention isn't untill next year, but I want LOTS of time to plan it out so that I can have a kick butt costume!!
Here's my criteria that I'm going by:
I want to cosplay as a girl Doesn't matter what hair color Modest-ish outfit (stomach covered up, boobs not poping out) Covered arms hopefully a taller person No Skirts or dresses No shorts Not SUPER skinney No dark skin (Hey, I'm a white girl in the north! ) Between 14 and 30 years old Doesn't Have to be a Watase character
If you can think of any characters that follows what I set or close to them, post! Thanks!!

That really narrows it down. You could be Kikyo from Inuyasha, I guess, if you want to be a semi-popular character. Or there's a character from Saiyuki that my friend was last year, who's practically unknown. She's got a short kimono as a top, it goes just below her hips, and pants. And I think she's around 5'9", maybe less. But I'm not sure, it never gives her exact height. There are probably others I could mention, but I can't think of their names. Or what they look like. Most of the other characters I can think of only partially meet the requirements you mentioned. Wait, maybe you could be Yusura from Appare Jipangu. I think she wears long sleeves, and pants. I'll have to check, it's not something I usually notice.
