Myles takes out a finely crafted dagger in a wooden sheath, and as he slips it out of the sheath the oddness of it is revealed. Instead of a blade, it seems to have a handful of blades at different angles, transparent and only half present, shifting as the dagger is turned almost as if a single blade were being seen through the facets of a prism or gemstone.
"Here goes nothing..." And he raises the blade to where the rift was opened earlier, and then he feels the paradimensional blade catch on the scar of the earlier gating. He tears it open with the dagger, revealing the monolith. And then he sheaths the dagger.
"That worked. And now, I don't need to handle it..." He draws some sort of hand-held weapon, the barrel of which is sculpted to resemble a lion's roaring maw. A curved guard of some sort runs from the lion's chin to the base of the handle.
He levels the gun at the boulder. "...I just need to subtract it from the universe."

Myles pulls the trigger and fires a clawed projectile at the orb, that trails a thin but strong cable. The claw grips the surface of the orb, and Myles immediately pushes the trigger forward. The cable disappears at the mouth of the barrel, and vanishes up the line to the claw. The part of the orb that had been gripped appears to warp and twist in bizarre ways as the edge of the orb is tugged out of is toward is-not.
Seeing that one anchor isn't going to be enough, he aims for a second shot.

(( Well, since you're not contesting any of this... ))
He fires two more shots, each time pushing the trigger forward to send the cartridge out of existence and pulling the cable and claw with it. The entire orb is now pulled and twisted, and seems to be peeled off of reality like a layer of film. Thus it vanishes, pulled out of the continuum into the null where nothing can exist.

Satisfied that the thing is gone, he takes out the bizarre dagger again, and forces electricity into it. Dragging it back across the scar, it closes the ragged edges together. It isn't a perfect seal, anything trying to walk through that space will encounter resistance, but it will keep any hapless wildlife from wandering in.
He puts away the dagger and walks back toward the school.

Xander walks up to the space where he opened up his portal and notices something wrong. "Hmm... it seems like someone found my entrance. Then when they tried to close it, they did a crap job of sealing it." He takes out his special glove and opens the portal again. "Heh, I guess they did something with my orb too." He extends his arm and gathers alot of energy in his hand. Suddenly a green smoke starts to appear from nowhere. "Even though the orb was destroyed, the smoke that was trapped within it is still here. And that is all I need. He inhails all the smoke as he closes his eyes. Then, when he opens his eyes, their shape and color has changed. They are now inverted colored and star-shaped with a double band going around them. He starts having visions of places around the world with high populations of people. "Hahahahaha. I can see the poor, pitiful people that are just waiting for me to kill them. My eyes are now like my own personal map that I can combine with the instant teleportation spell that Im about to create to kill everyone. Hahahahaha." He closes his eyes again and they return to their normal state to conseal his power. "All I have to do is create this spell and my goals will be complete." He closes the portal with his glove, creating an undetectable seal, then walks back to the school, heading for the gaming hall.
