"Well, when I was five I met a girl. She was the same age as me, born on the same exact day in fact. She was a Feline druid, and within five minutes of meeting me knew exactly how to get on my nerves," he said. His voice was becoming somewhat more irate, but he tried to control it. "From then on, she continually pestered me and frustrated me for the next ten years. I couldn't do anything about it, it was against the druids' equivalent of a law for anyone under the age of twenty to fight."
L'wan paused and frowned uncertainly. He knew he'd have to go on with it, but there was just a block there that he couldn't move by himself. His eyes implored her to ask him.

She put a hand on his seeing his frustration/pain whatever it might be. "What happened?"

"It's not something I'm proud of," he said, and then took a deep breath to try and get out what he wanted heard.
"One day, when I was about fifteen... It was just a usual day, but I was assigned to the same team she was, so it wasn't long before she started up again. It was exactly the same kind of thing I'd been through for the past several years, so I still don't know what it was that set it off. It was just.. I had so much stored up from then, and it just came out. Something... just... snapped.
And the worst of it is, I don't even know what I did..."

She squeezes his hand. "That's why you're here." She didn't know if he came here on is own or weather he was forced out, but she could sympathize either way.

All I remember from that time is hunting, eating, sleeping, hunting again. It's just a long blur of the same cycle over and over..."

"In a way it sort of already has. You see, what happened to.. What I was was what's called a 'Feral.' It's when the human part of a druid's mind shuts down entirely and gives in to instinct. Of course it almost never happens to a non-carnivorous druid...
Usually it sticks the druid in his or her most proficient inhuman form, for me that of a wolf, and then the body runs entirely on instinct."
He was having less trouble talking because he was speaking about something he'd been taught rather than trying to speak from experience. Really, it wasn't just that-- it was that he was past the hardest part of it.
"I was very lucky to have regained myself at all. I just woke up two years ago in some forest without a clue. I left and looked for some sign of civilization, and again quite luckily found a nomadic druid. He was of the equine type, a bit elderly but still physically and psychically fit. He took care of me for awhile and taught me some better English, but he wasn't willing to keep me for too long, so he sent me on my way after about a year and a half. So... I've wandered about since then, and this city is actually the first real civilization I've seen."

Her eyes were wide with fascination. Unfortunatly for her she was a bit speachless as well. "Wow...I...I don't think I could make it through something like that..."

He took another long chug of his drink, reducing it to half of what it had been, before answering. "The equine nomad helped me out a lot. For instance, you may have noticed I'm not affected by this," he said, pointing with his eyes to the drink. "Well, whenever I started to get a little weirded out he'd give me some pure alcahol like a medicine to calm me down. So of course I have a heavily built-up resistance to it by now."

"Pure alcohol? Geez I can see how that would work, put a bit of everclear in someone and they'll mellow right out...if it works though..." She sips at her drink thinking.

"That's about it. By now I'm out of whatever psychopathic hole I was in earlier, I know who I am and how to deal with it. Really there's only one thing missing. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but I must know just what I did that first day... whether or not she was harmed. So you see, that's why I must leave town soon. I'll find my old home somehow... It'll at least put me on the right track."

She nods somlemly. "That makes sense. Do you know of anything that might help?" She doesn't know why but she has a compulsion to help in some way, if she can.

"I don't know. I suppose if I had any idea how to read a map it might help, come to think of it I don't think I could possibly have left the continent I started on, so all I'd have to do is look for a large forested area."
