Maybe The Little Mermaid will be re-released as a special edition DVD, Usagi, if the version out now is too hard to find at the stores.
I still have my VHS copy from when it was first released on video. I'm pretty sure it still works. Might watch it later to be sure. I loved this movie!

I actually just watched it about 2 weeks ago for the first time in a couple of years. It is such a great movie....definitely a disney classic. My favorite part is when Ursula sings "Poor Unfortunate Souls" and the big scene where Ursula is taking over the seas then Eric kills her with the big sharp ship thingy. 3nodding

Yeah Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie of all time. Jodi Benson (Arial) is basically my voice acting idol. She has such a pretty voice.

I remember being at my aunts, who had a daughter my sister's age, and who was absolutely mad about 'The little mermaid'. We'd spend hours coloring copies from her 'The little mermaid'-coloring book. So much fun...
And I agree with you, Jodi Benson has a very sweet and pretty voice.

Ariel's voice actress also does Millenia from the game Grandia 2. Kinda sounds like the way Ursula-Ariel was.

I think it was my 2nd fav movie. (Since U can't count Winnie the Pooh!) Pochantas was my all time favorite. My favorite is Sebestain! Has anyone seen the sequel? I luv it probaly a little less than the original! Meleody is awesome!

I'm afraid I was never a fan.
I first saw the film when I was six. Triton trashing Ariel's collection and the uber-Ursula were enough to scare me into disliking it. However my younger sister has always loved it since she first saw it.
I'm not afraid of the movie anymore but I still don't care for it. I have a hard time likeing a character that does not properly redeem herself and clean up her own mess....and is rewarded for it anyway.
Tis the writer's fault for making it that way though.

I luv Jodi Benson too. I didn't know she did the voice for Thumbelina too! Go figure. I luv Thumbelina. Anyway, Ursula is kewl and her song roks, but i have to say i wuz rooting for the good guys! I always luv a happy ending. 3nodding Yay for fishies!!! heart biggrin heart

I love this movie to pieces!! Ursula was realli cool and Ariel was so cute but I realli loved prince eric --he was seriously cute for a cartoon character! jodi benson rules! she has such an amazing voice -i loved her in thumbelina even if that was only story boarded by disney & they didn't produce it. (prince cornelius was fine for a cartoon faery!)
