I best meditate during light rain or when i'm in a pool. I'm a water element and find it VERY soothing, especially when school piles up. Unfortunately, neither of those things are easily available, so I had to find another way. I imagine myself in a forest next to a waterfall (never in the water because imagined water always causes me problems). The proble with that, though, is that during random moments, my mind pulls me back there and i start to lose sense of what's going on around me. Does anyone have an idea of something else I could try?

Ok, are you my long lost meditation double, because I do the same thing, no kidding. Hmm, most people would find this freaky, but not me... I kinda thrive on random freakiness. I only had that problem twice when I was first starting, yeah, once I started meditating and finally snapped out of it 10 hours later, seriously, i was kneeling on my bed and I literally couldn't feel my legs. But that doesn't happen anymore, now I make sure that happen. All I do is I also intergrate something small in my surroundings that will remind my mind of reality and I'll snap out of it, (just don't do it when you're also trying to fix a magical power problem, you might get knocked into a wall.... just a heads up there.) But try that, and it doesn;t even have to be something big it could be just about anything that can blend in (i.e: your pet [if you have one], a small trinket or piece of jewelry [a necklace, ring bracelet, etc.] and when you look at it, the object, it should jog your mind back to reality).

I have a bad habit of spacing out with I stare at certain things and its like I can consiously feel myself sleeping away and I can't seem to pull back at all so I just let myself return when I am good an ready to

For the one who gets lost, you could also try setting a watch or an alarm clock to beep, or get a Sounds of Nature CD, then when the CD stops it should help. Although I'm not sure if it will because I never had that problem due to I started to used meditation to control rage in a situation so I had to think of something rational to do about that situation. XD
