See, not with us. We have about 38 flute players at our school, but they're seperated into 3 different bands. Our top band has 7, middle band 15, and the bottom band has the rest. (i'm first chair, middle band... used to be last chair top band but got kicked down)

but in band, we only have 29 flutes because our marching band isn't mandatory. We have a 235 member marching band. Our regular bands are 70 member band for the lowest band, 100 member band for the middle band, and about 75 member band for the top band.

we used to have a lot of flutes but they all got scared off...i remember in junior high we had like 20....but now we have like 4 in my band...which combines with another band who also has a few...then our wind ensemble has like 8...

We have 11.
On Saturday, we preformed with the junior high at our football game. There were 25 total.

hikaru_67 I've noticed that a lot of flute players are starting to come. We have so many flute players at our school that we can make an army! Does anyone else notice this or is it just me? little missy.... us flutes can come right over to your doorstep and do a few things that may not be pretty... muahaha... twisted

hikaru_67 We have so many flutes, we have to swich them over to clarinets. We had to have two flutes switch to baritone rofl Our low brass section is tiny and low reed section non-existent

in my band, the flutes are the ones that have the least amount of players XD

Last year the senior band had 17 flutes. I'm not sure how many there are this year but, there's at least one row of them.

My band's pretty small:
6 sax
6 flutes
3 tubas
2 trumpets ( blaugh )
4 clarinets
1 trombone
4 percussion
1 french horn/mallephone(sp?)
both the sax and the flutes section suck, so they sound like 1 or 2 instead of 6. And one of the flutes plays the oboe, so...that's doesn't help none either. If anything, I think we might need more flutes...

Last year we had 16 flutes ... And three clarinets crying ... I switched sides to make four!!! And never went back ... sweatdrop
