The gray-skinned man called Soran gave a curt nod when the three teens warped into the lobby. He said nothing, only turned back to the door. A gnarled wand appeared in his hand, and he deftly began tracing runes in the air, trapping the demon in his own office, at least for a while. He ignored everything else that was going on, a manner that, had the situation been any less dire, would have probably been considered extremely rude. His brow furrowed in concentration, he kept his eyes on the door, knowing that one minor mistake could cost them precious time, or a precious life. But he kept the rest of his senses tuned on the Astra.

The man finished the spell before answering her, his speech delicate and precise as ever. "This is not the time or the place, Astra." He told her. He was not being unkind. Simply honest. The demon was trapped, but who knew what he could hear? They were too close. Far too close for comfort. "Come with me." He said, his command not really directed at anyone in particular. "I will show you somewhere safe." He glanced over his shoulder at the door. "We don't have much time. That seal won't hold forever."

Alex found herself not breathing, she had held her breath for Soran's responce...

"Wait..." she said, the book if he was Soran...then he would understand the book! "Soran...we can go to my dorm...it will be a little safer I guess." she realized how terribly forward that must have sounded and blushed. "I mean...i have something i want to pick up first....from my room."

she felt so evil when she remembered Takaho and Jodi were there beside her. She completly forgot about them...and she noticed there was another girl, who stood almost clueless about what had just happened. NightShade was banging on the door, and the secretaries didn't even react, as if they weren't real, but machines working under the controle of another. Dependent variables in this large expiriment for him.

"Let me out! I'll find you where ever you go!" she heard him threaten. Alex didn't know what came over her...she found herself gripping tightly to the closest persons arm, and it happened to be Soran's.

"Oh i am sorry!" she gasped blushing, but she couldn't make her self let go of his arm...it to such energy. And finally her hands fell to her sides, her face red as the rose Takaho had just turned to ash.

"Lets just go..." she said embaressed, her head hanging low as she looked at her feet. I am so stupid....I should be looking for Jack! Where is he? NightShade said he had him...that he was in trouble...I'll find you I promise... she swore

Soran watched her with detatched interest as her emotions flickered across her face. He glanced back up at the door, a slight frown on his face as Nightshade, obviously having overcome the confusion of the blue fire, started yelling out threats. He looked down in surprise when the Astra clutched his arm, but he didn't really mind. It was his job to protect her, anyway. When she released his arm, her face was bright red. Embarrassed? Interesting.

The man let out a small sigh. This girl wasn't foolish. If there was something she needed, then she needed it.

"Fine." He finally said in his quiet, musical voice. "But we must be quick. I am running out of time." Without bothering to explain himself, he turned to the exit of the lobby. He looked ready to make a break for it again, but at the last moment he stopped, turning to the two other girls, the teleporter and the new girl, and said, "Come if you must. Astra," he gestured ahead of him. "Lead the way."
