i have it for PS2... your question can be answerd by me!
your problem is that you have not completely cofigured FFXI to your PS2... i did that over at my friends and that happend.. but then we figured out that his mother board on the PS2 was FRIED... meaning dead no longer opperational. so he just got a new PS2 and now his char is a level 44. 3nodding

Ohhh yeah i found out that they lowerd the Monthly price on the PS2, to $6 a month because of all the equipment you need to play it so eventually the PC will be more EXPINCIVE! muahahahahaha the PC SUCKS! muahahahahaha jk

I play on the PC and I don't find it to be laggy or hard at all. I have one hand on the right-hand side on the numberpad to walk, my thumb on the directional buttosn to change camera direction, and with my left hand I operate my macros and the tab button.
No need for a stupid mouse, and I'm FAST, too. n_n

I play on the PS2 basically cause my PC sucks for games.
I got that Logitech keyboard/controller hybrid and got so comfortable with it that it's mandatory I use it for mining.....or cutting corners when running away from something.

TiggyChan actually the way my comp is set up....i prefur the ps2 version, im more comfortable with it. I can sit in my lounge chair with a tv tray with the key board on it an run around with the conroler..just more comfy to me. Alot easyer to move the camera an anything else....with keyboard you have to push keys...ps2 version you can just push l1 or r1 an the macros pop up an just select the right now...quicker in my thoughts....but then again to each their own. ooo an yeah no lag an no pop ups to boot you off the game an relativly no way you can get hacked whee My dad plays on the pc with a USB controller. X.X

[-N.I.-] 2 For chatting purposes, do you have it on PC or PS2? And another question, someone might be able to help me out with. I'm at a friends, and I brought my PS2, network adapter and hardrive, we're trynig to set it up, so we can play both, but when I try to start up XI on the PS2 I get a black screen for a bit, then I get sent back to the Browser menu, so if anyone could help with this problem, that would be great thanks! Does your friends computer have a firewall? If it does it might not let the PS2 log on the server. Also, I've had trouble with a modem that wasn't set up for a router. Now that the modem is bridged I haven't had trouble. Does your friend have DSL? That might be an issue too. I have a PS2 keyboard. It is AWESOME. Makes typing and using the quick commands alot easier.

PS2. My hands are more comfortable with the controller than keyboard. Espcially being left handed. Plus at the time I got FFXI I had a majorly crappy computer so I doubted that it'd work, plus the HDD drive is helpful because it'll store data like an interior memory card.
As much as I'd like the better graphics. I think I'll stick with my ps2, ps2 controller, usb keyboard and usb mouse.

Well I have it for both PS2 and PC. I like the ps2 verion better because the controler making it easier to move and access menus then I just went and got a $5 key board from my local game shop and was good. I have been thinking about possibly switching to a new server, but I am unsure right now. This might have been answered all ready but you can actually choose what server you play on but it has to be done the first time you make a char. Just make your char and if it is on the desired server stay, but if not then you will need to delete and then recreate it and it should be on a different server and just do this until you are put onto the dersired server it may take some time however to get on the right one so the easiest way is tell your cheapass friends to buy a worldpass xd
