Sasami YES YES!!! His past is sad crying , I saw it and I was like what the hell?! Tamahome you shouldn't kill him, maybe he can change. Maybe he'll be like Yui and think he's come too far to go back. I don't think people can change drastically. They might act as if they're changed, but most people will go back to their former behavior if given a chance. I know I would if someone tried to change me.

So, it's both his stupidity as well as desperation that did it. But it's more human stupidity and greed than sadness. If you think about it, almost every anime or manga character has something sad from their past. Or, those who have a nice past, have an awful present. I dunno, I still have to disagree w/Naraku. Way l8r on in the eps, it shows about his past, and apparantly the reason why he became burnt and whatever was b/c he was evil and plotting b4 that, trying to get Kikyou b4 she even knew him... Like I said, it's stupidness, too. And I'm only as far as they show on Cartoon Network. LHL is almost caught up with Japan (or so she says), but I don't really like subtitles. I like seeing the expressions on people's faces and wehen I have to read what they're saying, I can't really see their faces. I've seen whatever's come on Adult Swim, and last summer I saw a lot of the Japanese ones w/Sub. I understand what you mean about reading them... Though, now I don't watch what comes on AS b/c I've already seen them, and I am very forgetful, so I forget to watch and record them for my family and friends anyway... sweatdrop

I_am_Sango I guess you're right about that. I'll just blame Nakago for everything lol. But in the end, when it reveals his sad past, I was thinking, "No! He can't have a sad past! He's evil! I don't want to feel sorry for him!" lol. Know whatCHU mean. I hate Nakago double time now. Not because he deceived Yui (what do I care? So she was mentally vulnerable and he took advantage of that, anyone reasonable megalomaniac would do that!) but because he killed... *sobs* Yuiren and Tama-chan's family (note: Tama-chan=Tamahome, Tama-neko=Mitsukake's cat) and sent Ashitare who killed my lovely Nuriko-chan!!! NURIKO!! *sobs* And then he goes and has a SAD PAST?! I know that Watase-sama loved him the most (why? WHY?! HE KILLED YUIREN! THAT SWEET CHILD!!) but... Evil b*****d. Making me feel sorry for him! I'll show him! *kicks his imaginary grave* HA! *flees from graveyard, fearing Nakago's ghost*

Hi all, I have both seasons and both OVA's biggrin FY is my fav Anime and Ceres is my 2nd fav.
So we're discussing how Yui was manipulated into turning agains her best friend of 12 years, give or take; and how much we dislike her? I think we've covered all of that topic by now haven't we? She was manipulated and I agree with the mun earlier who mentioned that she's book smart and lacks common sense.
She had been through what she thought was a horrible traumatic event and believed that Nakago rescued her. The way her character slowly evolves into the cold hearted girl it well done and with reason. Besides we're supposed to dislike her she's the enemy. She redemed herself in the end if I remember correctly and in the OVA's Miaka and Yui and regained their friendship so it all works out.

You're the source of all evil!!! Nooo!!!" lol I so need to see someone yell that. I'd burst out laughing. My friends hear enough of it, I'm sure they're annoyed by my overall loser-ness lol. Yelling out things like that... Yup, I'm special... So special that some might even mistaken it for insanity lol. One time, me and my friend were so bored we were naming all the pretty boys in anime that we know of. It was funny. And we yell things, too. On Friday wo of my friends came over and we went out on the balcony that looks out at the street. The people across the street were leaving and one of my friends yelled "BYE!" at them. I love my friends. We're all insane. There's no mistaking it.
