opalsnow "Just call me Shiori. No need to be so formal." Shiori laughed a little. "I really don't know how to thank you." She said as she began walking again, heading towards her dorm. "I'd really appreciate your help. I was actually slightly worried about how was I gonna manage all by myself." "Don't mention it, Shiori-san." He smiled, following her for a moment then catching up. Relying on subtle cues from her, he followed while walking next to her as he had no clue where her dorm was. "I'm more than happy to help anyone who needs it, especially the newer students. Most people come here like I did, knowing absolutely no one and a complete stranger to this magnificent place." The only reason Alexander-Christian was calling her by her first name was because she had asked him to. However, even if she stated that she wanted him to, he wasn't going to drop the honorific for a very long time. It just simply wasn't respectful and that went against his beleifs. Quote: As they walked, Shiori is conscious of at least a few pair of eyes on them. She knew they weren't staring at her but it's just as good. "Cooking?" There was a tinge of surprise in her voice. "I'm sorry for that reaction. But it's just that most guys in Japan depend on the girls to cook. No guy has ever cooked for me before!" Shiori was both amused and curious and it showed in her voice. 'Just my luck to be here at the right time and the right place!' "Sure, I'd love to join you." Suddenly a thought struck her, "I guess I can help you in the kitchen. That'd be my payback for helping me with my dorm." She was quite pleased with herself for thinking up that idea. "Yes. Cooking." He replied with a twinkle of laughter dancing in his bright blue eyes. "I've gotten the same reaction from many others who found out about my other hobby. Apparently the fact that most chefs are male doesn't really register in people's minds." Pausing for a moment, he chuckled and continued. "Don't worry about helping. Just about everything's ready. I just need to throw it together and toss it in the oven. However....If you'd like to come over I have some wonderful teas and coffees. I probably don't have the selection that the cafe does, but there's something about drinking in the kitchen while food's cooking in it that's absolutely wonderful." Realizing that he was on the verge of babbling on about his second hobby and probably about to bore Shiori, the young fencer cut off there. Here it was a bit harder to sip wine while cooking so he settled for tea or coffee and found it a decent substitiute. Most of the problem was getting a good vintage into the school and into his kitchen. Alexander-Christian was by no means an alcoholic, limiting himself to two glasses of watered wine a day when allowed to drink - one with lunch and one while he cooked dinner.

Quote: "I'm more than happy to help anyone who needs it, especially the newer students. Most people come here like I did, knowing absolutely no one and a complete stranger to this magnificent place." "Aha, I guess we need more people like you around the world." Shiori said with a teasing smile. It was surprising how easily she bonded with this new student. Just after a few sentences and she felt as if she could tell him everything. He was so nice and affable that it's as if he would understand anything.
'Even that?' A small voice asked. 'Maybe not that yet.'
Shiori noticed that Christian was following behind her rather ackwardly and only then did she realise that she hadn't told him where she was headed. "My dorm is actually located on the 3rd Floor of the East Dorm." Shiori offered.Quote: "Don't worry about helping. Just about everything's ready. I just need to throw it together and toss it in the oven. However....If you'd like to come over I have some wonderful teas and coffees. I probably don't have the selection that the cafe does, but there's something about drinking in the kitchen while food's cooking in it that's absolutely wonderful." Shiori smiled. Simply because the plan sounded so good. "I'm sure it's every bit as wonderful as you say it is, DuLac-san." she agreed good-naturedly.
Presently, the East Block of the dorm came into view. The architecture is every bit as fantastical as the rest of Ohtori campus. Sometimes Shiori thinks that the students came here just so they could study and live in these buildings. The roses were exquisitely carved in every pillar and the corridors lined with roses ornaments and the stained glass windowns sported roses designs. In a way, it makes everything seem very Roman and also, romantic.
There was a skip to Shiori's steps. She just couldn't help herself. She was happy to be back in Ohtori. She was eager to make amends with Juri. She wanted Juri to be her friend again. Then perhaps, perhaps, maybe then, she can learn something about her friend who could give her an upper hand. Anything. Anything at all. Or maybe Arisugawa Juri wouldn't be the popular, talented and beautiful girl Shiori used to know. Anything could happen. And right now, Shiori was just glad to be here with a tall handsome fencer helping her with the packing and a meal together. Somehow it seems as if things were too good to be true.
'It's a good omen. It has to be. Shiori convinced herself.
When she reached room no. 12, Shiori took out the keys she got from the office and unlocked the door. She was delighted to note that the key itself had a rose crest engraved in it.
"So here is my room. It's a bit dusty but I think I can manage by myself." Shiori held the door open and waited for Christian to come in.

Moving smoothly in and out of the throngs of cheerful students, Victoria purchased an apple, and then made her way past the tables. She then selected a grassy spot, away from most of the other students. Alone, she sat down, smoothed out her uniform's skirt, and set her things down next to her. She pulled out her sketch case, with his soft black leather bindings, and opened her sketch book which was kept inside. She also took out a roll of pencils and began to draw.
Her strokes were smooth and quick, rendering a landscape of architecture. The buildings of Ohtori came to life in hues of gray, as she took a bite of the apple and set it down.
Her hand halted over completeing the rose insignia of the chairman's tower, and she frowned. For some reason, she just couldn't get it to look quite right. No matter...
She flipped the page and began sketching the students across the way.

"You're right Juri, The beginning of the year is usually very busy. Oh! but please dont make him practice dummy because of me..." Miki looked slightly worried, "I really dont mind waiting, I could have used the practice, I was a little rusty anyway!" he was almost pleading with her. He really didn't want someone to suffer because they were too involved with getting together their things at school. He knew he too sometimes neglected fencing for music or his studies and could sympathize in that way. He didn't think Juri was serious but couldn't be too sure. Though after seeing Juri smirk he realized she had just been kidding with him.
"Ah yes, I did come here looking for you. I wondered if you knew how many new students would be signing up for the team this year?"
He thought for a moment after she had posed the question "How many new students? Well, I have no idea to be honest... I have't heard anything." He looked down in thought, "There are always a big list of new people who sign up at first, but out of those who actually show up are few." Miki couldn't imagine it to be very different this year. Most people signed up for fencing to either idolize or watch someone they had a crush on, but since Juri never went easy on the slackers they would often drop the class and just watch from the gallery instead. "I'm sure everyone who was on the team before will be returning, along with maybe a few dedicated new members. You know how the first few weeks will be." He thought about the promise he made to himself and how he wanted to be a better coach this year. He figured with that twenty minutes of practice he was off to a good start.
"If you're off to find Touga, I guess I'll tag along" she said very nonchalantly, "I haven't seen Touga or Saionji lately, and had just planned to wander around the grounds anyway." Juri shrugged and leaned against the wall "If you wanted to change first, I'll wait here for you."
Miki looked down and realized he was still in his fencing uniform, "Ah, thank you Juri-san!" Miki hurried off to the direction of the change rooms, "I wont be too long, it'll only take a minute or two." Miki jogged off into the change room. He placed his bag down on the bench then opened his locker - a glove fell off from the top shell and landed on his head. Miki picked it up and placed it back neatly on the top shelf. Miki's locker was very tidy - at the top shelf he kept his gloves and fencing shoes. Below he kept his mask and he hung up whichever uniform he wasn't using at the time. He took out the hanger that held his student council uniform and lay it across the bench beside his bag. Miki was lucky that he had only been practicing for twenty minutes and didn't need to shower, he wouldn't want to keep Juri waiting for that long. He quickly unzipped his fencing jacket and pants and switched it with his student council uniform. After buttoning up his shirt he kicked off his fencing shoes and placed them on the top shelf of his locker. He took out his black school shoes and stepped into them after a bit of difficulty. He unzipped his bag and took out the foil mask which he placed in the bottom of his locker and then placed the foil in, standing it upright and leaning against the wall. He then folded the equipment bad and shoved it inside before closing the door and locking it shut. He stepped out the change room and smiled at Juri "Sorry, didn't mean to keep you waiting. Shall we get going?"

opalsnow "Aha, I guess we need more people like you around the world." Shiori said with a teasing smile. "Of course more people like me are needed." He grinned. Alexander-Christian had quite a high opinion of himself at times and wasn't afraid to let people know. "The world would be a much better place and there would be fewer bad resturaunts around." THe last part was meant mostly as a joke as the young fencer had a low opinion of most resturaunts, especially the fastfood ones. However, he honestly did think that the world would be better if there were more people like him around. Then chivalry wouldn't be dying and the world would be a better place in general because of it and the fact that he thought he was a pretty nice guy. Quote: Shiori smiled. Simply because the plan sounded so good. "I'm sure it's every bit as wonderful as you say it is, DuLac-san." she agreed good-naturedly. The young fencer smiled back. Shiori had a nice smile and so far he had gotten her to smile far more times than most girls would. Most of them were so nervous about being in a new place that all he could get out of them was a faint smile and a light chuckle or giggle. And now that he knew where they were going it was easier to walk with her than try and follow her at the same time. Instead he was now watching her face out of the corner of his eye when he wasn't looking directly at her. Then they were standing in front of the dorms. Like the rest of campus it was a magnificent peice of architecture. When he had first arrived Alexander had been curious about the architect and these days there was a reason why he called the campus a magnificent place. Even when compared against the buildings that he had seen in Europe the place was still beautiful. The young fencer smiled slightly to himself when he noticed the skip in Shiori's steps. It seemed to him almost as if she was returning to a familiar place that she hadn't been to in a long time and was looking forward to seeing old sights and meeting old friends again. Alexander-Christian followed the girl up to the third floor, hoping that wasn't the case. If it was then she was probably going to forget about him in a couple of days. Quote: "So here is my room. It's a bit dusty but I think I can manage by myself." Shiori held the door open and waited for Christian to come in."I can help with the dust problem if you'd like." He said as he stepped inside. "Where would you like me to put these." The young fencer hadn't noticed the fact that Shiori's key had a rose crest engraved on it. If he had he wouldn't have thought it odd. Ohtori had some strange obsession with roses, a fact he had noticed when gardening. They were everywhere. On buildings, growing in the gardens, on the student council's rings. Everywhere.

Ryuuno Haruka "I can help with the dust problem if you'd like." He said as he stepped inside. "Where would you like me to put these." "If you can be so kind." Shiori said. "You can put those on the bench beside the wall."
She opened up one of her luggages, hunted around for some cleaning cloths her mom had reminded her to bring. Taking a matching apron and scarf, Shiori put those on herself. Then she looked to Christian apologetically. "I'm sorry. I don't have an extra one for you." Shiori said, indicating her apron.
She then brought the cloths into the bathroom and filled up a pail of water before soaking the cloths in them. She held it up by the handle, bringing it into the room.
"Here, you can use these to wipe the furnitures." Shiori said, taking one of the pool of water herself, wring it, and began cleaning.
"So, DuLac-san, how long have you been in Ohtori?" she asked, trying to strike up a conversation.

Anshi continued watch Saionji and Touga. her eyes narrowed into a soft gaze, as her lips still remained in that placid smile. With ChuChu on her shoulder, she remained in the window, unoticed by Saionji. It didnt surprise her too much that the green haired male didnt notice her. If she was not at his side, he wouldnt notice her other wise. With out giving it any more thought, Anshii parted from the window sil(sp?) and continued down the hall way, quietly holding her bag as she decided to head down to the office for boarding.

opalsnow "If you can be so kind." Shiori said. "You can put those on the bench beside the wall." Nodding, he moved over to set the bags down. Arranging them neatly, the young fencer straightened and turned back around to face Shiori. The shorter girl was digging around in one of her bags for something. When she turned around with an apron and scarf on he smiled slightly. Quote: "I'm sorry. I don't have an extra one for you." Shiori said, indicating her apron. "It's quite all right. I don't mind getting a bit dirty." He smiled waving a hand as a dismissal of sorts. Alexander-Christian had expected to get his uniform a bit dirty earlier when he was gardening. To him dirt wasn't that much different from dust. Actually, dust was a bit easier to get out than some of the stains he had put in the uniform before. Grass stains were a pain in the a** for the light grey and green uniform he wore. Quote: "Here, you can use these to wipe the furnitures." Shiori said, taking one of the pool of water herself, wring it, and began cleaning.
"So, DuLac-san, how long have you been in Ohtori?" she asked, trying to strike up a conversation. The young fencer took a sopping wet cloth and wrung it out some before picking an item to clean. Since he was taller he chose the tallest item in the room. It would make things easier for her. "A couple of years now. Not too long when compared to people like Arisugawa-san and Himemiya-san." he shrugged as he carefully ran the cloth along the wooden surface. "You seemed to know the campus fairly well. Have you been here before, Shiori-san?"

"No problem, Miki" Juri folded her arms across her chest as she watched Miki disappear into the change room. She let out a sigh 'I shouldn't worry so much' she assured herself knowing Miki was probably right. Every year was the same song-and-dance, they got a whole new load of members but only 1/4th of those people showed up. Maybe she scared them off? Who knew, but Juri shrugged it off anyway. She didn't want members who just came to ogle people who were serious about fencing. After all, thats what the balcony above the hall was for. As Miki emerged from the change room with his student council uniform Juri let out a soft smile. "Yeah, lets go." she said as she pushed herself off the wall. She turned and exited the fencing hall, "Dont worry, I'm not going to make anyone 'practice dummy'... unless they miss the warm up." she added, assuring him while walking down the corridor, after all she didn't want him to worry over something so trivial. She pushed open the door and walked out onto the Ohtori grounds. Juri surveyed her surroundings to look for any signs of a long red haired man or a group of squealing girls, "Do you have any idea where he'd be?" she looked back at Miki and questioned.

Shiori was glad that Christian was attentive enough to go for the taller furnitures. At least she wouldn't need to climb on chairs and tables to get to them.
"A couple of years now. Not too long when compared to people like Arisugawa-san and Himemiya-san." he shrugged as he carefully ran the cloth along the wooden surface.
When the name came out of Christian's lips, Shiori stiffened visibly. She hadn't expected to hear her name so soon after arriving. "You know of Juri - er, I mean, Arisugawa-san?" Shiori didn't face him. She didn't want him to see the host of emotions that was running rampant through her face.

As Victoria sketched, she saw Juri and Miki come into view in their concil uniforms. Their presence reminded her that fencing practices would be soon. She glanced down at her foil, in its case on the ground, then back to her sketch pad, where her hands were blending the shadow of man's uniform jacket. Ever since she had first joined Ohtori, she had taken fencing, as per request from her parents. It had helped that she had some natural talent and the build for it, but of course she would have done so anyway, even if she had not.
Juri Arisugawa was not only a member of the student council, but she and Miki Karou headed the practices, and were strict teachers. Victoria tended to stay near the back in practices, and tried to remain unnoticed. She disliked being singled out for anything, and so when at practice she kept a careful balance of not being too good or too poor against the opponents she was paired against. Of course, she didn't have to limit herself against the Captain or his assistant when they had the members fence against them. They were simply that good, and her ability was lacking in comparison.
Nevertheless, whatever her feelings on the matter, she made a mental notation to pay careful attention to when the next practices were, so she could schedule her club meeting time effectively.
Packing up her things, Victoria moved away from the spot she had been sitting, and headed in the direction of the dorms, with the intention of dropping them off.

"SHe's the fencing team captain and the treasurer for the Student Council." he shrugged, running the cloth down the side of the wood.. "It is sort of hard to miss her. Are you friends with her?"
With his back turned to her and his attention on getting the dust off the furniture, it was no suprise he didn't notice the emotions running across Shiori's face. It was probably a good thing he didn't mention his minor attempt to catch her attention when he had first arrived. Completely oblivious to her history with his team's captain, he continued on.
"I think it was fencing against her that brought me to this school. I remember that I wanted to come here and practice against Ohtori's best if she was an example."

As Mikage stepped out of the Nemuro Memorial Hall his eyes squinted at the sunlight. It had been far too long since he last left his desk and took a breath of fresh air. He strolled onto the Ohtori grounds and breathed in the faint scent of roses that filled the air. A gentle wind brushed through his light pink hair as he walked along with a novel under his arm- not having a place to go- merely taking a break from his research. He observed his surroundings and the students who passed him by. Mikage almost forgot how beautiful this place could be. Souji simply sighed and decided to enjoy the nice weather. He crossed the field and took a seat under a large oak tree. Mikage leaned back under the shade of the tree and took his book out from under his arm. He opened it to the dog-eared page and began to read silently, occasionally glancing upward to catch anything exciting.

Having arrived at her room, Victoria moved and set her things down by her bed. She remembered a time when she had once been an average student, and had to live with a roommate. She would often come back to her room, and according to the untidied area around the other bed in her room, would known when her roommate had come and left. There had always been such distasteful things found, such as the rumpled clothes left on the floor, discarded candy wrappers that had not found its way to the trash can, etc. How she had dispised such an unkempt state of things...
Now, as a member of the Order of the Rose, she had her room, which always looked as though a military inspector was due to go over it with a white glove. Everything she owned was neatly folded, put away, and organized. It was the way things should be, in her mind. Victoria moved to take out her polish kit, and proceeded to sit down on the edge of her bed and give a once-over of her foil.
Her thoughts however were unfocused. She had recieved a call from her parents earlier in the week that had caused her to be even more withdrawn from the rest of the world, (if that was even possible). Sometimes Victoria just wished she could be allowed to do things her own way, without having to give her parents reports and updates on her progress. It was...tiresome...though she would of course never voice any such complaint.
When she had finished with her fencing weapon, she put it back in its case, and placed it under her bed. Checking the clock on the desk, she debated on perhaps heading to the music room. Playing her cello might help to ease her mind a bit.

"She's the fencing team captain and the treasurer for the Student Council." he shrugged, running the cloth down the side of the wood..
'So Juri is still doing well. Even without me. Even after that.' Shiori recognized her own bitter emotions. But she wasn't going to show any of it. Not in front of a new guy, somebody whom she can start all over again with.
"It is sort of hard to miss her. Are you friends with her?"
"Yes, I guess you could say that." Her voice sounded as if they came from a very faraway place, so soft. And perhaps that was why Alexander-Christian didn't seem to her her.
"I think it was fencing against her that brought me to this school. I remember that I wanted to come here and practice against Ohtori's best if she was an example."
"Best..." Shiori repeated that word. "That word would suit Juri very much." She hadn't meant to let the bitterness get into her voice but perhaps it was inevitable. "Back when I were such close friends, Juri was always the best at everything as well. Sometimes I wish that nothing had ever came between me and Juri. We used to have so much fun together...until I spoiled it all of course." Her hands stopped cleaning, frozen in mid-air. "Actually one of the main reasons for coming back to Ohtori was to rectify things with Juri."
There was a moment's pause before she turned to face Alexander-Christian, all foreign emotions wiped from her face. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to talk about that at all."
She smiled. "I'm almost done yo! What about you?" She asked in a teasing voice. "Surely you're not going to lose to a girl like me, even at cleaning!"
