Ayame bit her lip. Maybe that was the wrong thind to say. "You will be my friend, won't you?" The excitment of the party seemed to scare Ayame a little. "Say Yasoie, would you care to talk a walk out by the pond?"

"Maybe one day, you might accompy on such a trip!" He laughed as he downed the sake. It would seem that he was getting ill from drink with his odd wit, but it was quite the opposite. The government's drone could hold his own with any alcoholic beverage . . . until the fifthteenth or so round.

She lauhged with him, and filled his sake. "If there were more people here maybe a drinking contest might be held you look like you can sure hold it in. But tell me what is the goverment like in America?". fixing her hair ordament that was starting to fall out she wiated.

"If there was a drinking contest I would opt out! I would not want to embarass the others in it!" He laughed, "Well, the government in America . . . it's different than from here. They are all about equality and it seems women can actually play a role in government. Interesting thought, isn't it?"

Emi-san did not answer for a mintute then replied. "That is interesting indded I wonder what would happen if the Japenise goverment adapted that". She smiled at the thought .

"Yes I have been to one, I was invited to a Party about a moth ago . Though I do forget the island name I keep getting ahead of myself sometimes to much planned for the day. You must know what's that's like?".

" It was something different and extrdanary to me. It seemed like every step I took I took I felt more drown to it. I loved to see the many istes like the Garden it was very buetiful. Also watching the sea from the cliff. What did you find intersting on one of the islands you visted?". Sipping her Sake she waited.

An elegantly dressed geisha stepped through the entryway, easily stepping backwards out of her getta and onto the woven tatami mats. With a demure smile, the small, willowy young woman gazed about for an open place on the floor.

Norika Ito was an experienced geisha with two younger sisters-turned-geisha under her belt. at this phase in her career, she no longer wore a full face of make-up, but only the tiniest hint of rougue and lipstick, along with shaders and her eyebrows drawn on.

She knelt next to a man sitting alone on the side of the room. She smiled at him. "Good evening, Tatsumura-san." she said, refilling his sake cup with a nearby bottle as he raised his glass. She made light conversation for a minute before rising to circulate again around the warm dimly-lit room.

"Please excuse me," Norika said with a bow. Rising smoothly, she held the hem of her beautiful yet subtle deep blue and gold accented-kimono in her left hand, and looked for an inviting face.

Ito smiled at the young geisha who had approached her. "Hello." they walked over together to sit on either side of an elderly man, reading a business newspaper. "Yes, the summer dances were lovely. I am good friends with the lead, Mokanaki-san. On the other hand, I am behind on sumo-as i took a small leave to Shikoku (the japanese island.) so, do catch me up on the recent sumo news!"

she laughed lightly and poured some jasmine tea for the elderly gentleman, who seemed uninterrupted by the geisha's presence as he sipped his tea and read his paper. Norika waited for emi's reply, still looking to smile around the room at the numerous geisha.

First Emi tunred to him and smiled, "I would be delighted to join you, They are simply wonderful " placing a card in his hand. She tunred to the other Geisha. "Oh nothing to much Hotaru seems to be unbeatable though, what is the latest news you heard". Puring some more Sake for herself she pured him a cup wondering how much more he can take.
