Mithlond :: Mindon Lindlieva 24 Quelle in the Reckoning of Lindon 30 Narquelie in the King's Reckoning
Glorfirith entered the room at her uncle's call.
"I'm sorry, I should have knocked first. I will stay for your council, I suppose. I like to know what's going on even if it does not concern me. Tell me though, will Lord Elrond be joining us? I think he wants revenge for the gift I left him before going to Mordor." At this she laughed. She knew that she would have to keep on her gaurd for a while until he forgot. Or, at least until he got her back.
"Though I originally came to ask if you kept my room..." she looked at her feet while she waited for the answer, hoping that it was still there. She had left a few of her finest inventions for some of the best pranks under a loose floorboard beneathe her bed. It wasn't so much that she wanted them back but was more hoping that they were never found. Even if the room was there and the inventions weren't at least she'd feel a bit more at home than she had since she left Rivendell.

Araloth smiled slightly and hurried to catch up with Loswen. As the bells chimed, she jumped, slightly surprised.

Mithlond :: Mindon Lindlieva 24 Quelle in the Reckoning of Lindon 30 Narquelie in the King's Reckoning
Grinning, the High King Gil-galad responded to Glorfirith. "You shall be pleased to know that my servant's have kept your room exactly as you left it. Though I must ask that, in the future, you refrain from prying apart the floorboards of my tower." The King winked, but said no more.
Rather, he turned to Elendil, as he stepped into the hallway outside the parlour. "As we speak, the chefs of my tower prepare a modest feast for our coming. I should expect that, pressing though the council be, it will not last long. Yes, we shall eat soon enough, so fret not."

Neniel Starfire Loswen Starlight
Loswen looks at Araloth and Neniel, then back at Gil-Galad's tower. She slowly nodds, then makes to move that way.
Whatever that means, it came from the High King's Tower. We should check it out. I've been here before, follow me.
Neniel looks at Araloth and shruggs, then moves to follow her sister.

Glorfirth paused slightly. Uh oh. I have been caught. I will have to be careful going under the floor board.
"Thank you, uncle. I will go see my room and then I will meet you in council. Please do not start without me." She turned and left the room ahead of Gil-Galad and Elendil.
And I will have to find a new hiding spot. She went to her room, remembering to stay away from the floorboard. Luckily her room was the same and the bed was over it. She changed into a gown she had in her wardrobe. She quickly left her room and headed to the council porch.

Mithlond - Mindon Lindlieva 24 Quelle in the Reckoning of Lindon 30 Narquellie in the King's Reckoning
Menegil Belmagol Elendil the Tall Morthol
The moonlight entered through the windows of Mindon Lindlieva, as Elendil rose from his chair. His stomach rumbled loudly, and when he heard Gil-galad's news, his face glimmered with relief;
"I have not eaten anything for the past six hours, my friend. O, I am indeed in need of something to eat, even if it is a simple piece of bread! And after we eat, we shall see what is so serious that will prevent me from devouring Mithlond's famous strawberry cakes!!" He added, laughing. He was joyful, mostly because of the wedding, but also because of seeing his olf friend again.
Elendil bowed, and retreated himself to the chambers. What was the reason of this "Council" of which Ereinion spoke of he did not know, but he was almost certain that it would not darken the following day.
************
Morthol smiled at Nolah's kiss, and as she retreated to her chambers.
"Rest well, my love." He simply said, as he turned back from the door. "She will be surprised, during our dinner." He thought, his eyes darting towards a small silvery box that he took from his tunic's pocket.
He followed the High King's advice, and took a stroll around Gil-galad's manor, until eventually founding a cloyster, with many plants of many shapes and colours. He sat on a bench nearby, and absorbed the sweet fragrances that the air of those gardens possessed. He closed his eyes, giving thanks to Eru for the joy that was brought to his life.
************
As Menegil left Mindon Lindlieva, he was feeling uneasy. The reports of a large army crossing Eriador, bound to Lindon, were very disturbing, and although the Elves were strong enough to defeat them in their country, the small Numenorean villages that crossed the Orcs' path were not as strong. Slaughter might be ocurring at that very instant. He turned away, and entered Gil-galad's manor once again, to find it's main hall empty. Being obvious that the guests and Gil-galad himself had gone to have some rest before dinner, he directed himself to the library, where the High King of Lindon kept a vast collection of books from the Ancient Times. To entertain himself, he opened an old book of songs, and started to practice them.

Mithlond :: Council Porch 24 Quelle in the Reckoning of Lindon 30 Narquelie in the King's Reckoning
Thrice the golden council bells rang amidst the valley of Mithlond. One by one, the King's Counselors treaded the marble-cobbled footpath that lead to the council porch. The porch itself was well-secluded, hidden behind the Mindon Lindlieva, and shaded by the towering pines along the hillside. Stepping under the grey-stone arches, High King Gil-galad made his way to his high seat at the far-edge of the ring.
All about that porch were situated chairs and benches; enough to seat three dozen at least. Spacious was it, so much so that many Elves could watch the council if they so desired it. But this was a secret council, and with the exception of Isilien the Fair and Glorfirith, none were permitted save the Counselors of Elendil and Ereinion.
Nigh Gil-galad's chair sat a tray; and the King took in hand that which rested upon it. "No food for six hours, you said? That is a travesty. It is fortunate, friend, that I had food prepared early." He then handed to Elendil a small strawberry cake. "Not of great size, but it should nourish your hroa until dinner, at least."
Gil-galad then sat, smiling as his Counselors slowly filtered into the porch. Cirdan came swiftly; for him Gil-galad rose, and gifted an embrace. "I am delighted that you are well, Cirdan. It is a shame that we could not speak for great lengths of the Sulgaer."
Cirdan returned the embrace, saying: "It was a great pity, my Lord." He took his seat at Gil-galad's right hand, and waited alongside the King for the coming of the remaining Counselors.

Mithlond :: Mindon Lindlieva
24 Quelle in the Reckoning of Lindon 30 Narquelie in the King's Reckoning
Nolah Pennbeleth
As the door shut softly behind her Nolah paused for a moment, eyes scanning her new lodgings in delight. The delicate yet sturdy carvings of the bed-the light floating material of the curtains in contrast to the rick fabrics of the bed-the simply ornate and beautiful works of art. Plants were set about the room as well. It gave an immediate feeling of calm. She could see her things laid out and her trunk discreetly place in a corner. With a tired smile she went over and fished out something lighter to wear before braiding her long hair into a simple plait. That finished, she crawled into the bed and was asleep within minutes.

Mithlond - Mindon Lindlieva - Council Porch 24 Quelle in the Reckoning of Lindon 30 Narquelie in the King's Reckoning
Menegil Belmagol Elendil the Tall
Elendil accepted the strawberry cake offered by Gil-galad, and devoured it with a single bite. With an absolutely delighted expression, he sat at a chair beside Cirdan, as he saluted him. He was sure that beside Gil-galad's left hand would be Menegil, he being the Chief Councilor and the General of his armies, or maybe Elrond, his Herald.
As Elendil scouted his thoughts, Menegil entered the porch, dressed in an elegant blue robe, with fine lines of silver and gold shaped in leaves. He bowed to the King and to Cirdan, his long-time friend.
"I am glad to see you safe, Cirdan, after these tormentous days. How I missed the long afternoons that we spent in the docks discussing the affairs of the world, during our voyage!" With a broad smile, he embraced Cirdan, laughing merrily. Returning the embrace, Cirdan sat again, and Menegil took his seat at the left side of the King. Leaning towards Gil-galad, Menegil asked;
"Where is Elrond? Should he not be here?"

Mithlond :: Council Porch 24 Quelle in the Reckoning of Lindon 30 Narquelie in the King's Reckoning
((Onoj is New York, you say? Elrond, I sieze thee...))
The High King clasped his hands, and nodded to Menegil. However, before he could speak in affirmation, Elrond appeared. The Herald seemed slightly flustered; and he did not wait for an inquiry to explain why. "I apologize for my tardiness, lords, but until but ten minutes ago I was holding friendly discourse with the High King's niece," said he, and near all sensed a slight sarcastic tone as he spoke, and he could be seen glaring from afar at Glorfirith.
Gil-galad, of course, understood what was meant; he could barely contain his hearty laughter as Elrond took his seat. Yet suddenly, upon realizing that all were present, his face grew stern. "Sons of Eldalie, and heirs of Westernesse, I welcome thee all to Lindon, and to the Mindon Lindlieva. It is with great joy that I announce a festive event that shall be held tomorrow; and with great dismay that I learn of Sauron's most recent assault upon we Free Peoples." The King glanced at Elrond Peredhil, and as he was now at official council, his mood was become somber.
The Half-elf rose, and addressed the council as Ereinion Gil-galad's Herald. "Gorthaur the Cruel's grip upon we Free Peoples is ever tightening. All present are well aware of his recent, and especially bold, move against Gondor: an act so vicious that the High King himself found the aid of the Heralds of the Lord of the West necessary to extricate Prince Isildur from that which should have been death. Barely did we triumph against Sauron's armies on the plains of Gorgoroth; but nonetheless it was in no means a victory for the West. Sauron's grip still tightens. An Orc-host moves through Arnor as we speak."
Gil-galad gazed upon Elendil the Tall, his stare full of compassion and pity. Elrond sat, even as Caliondo, one of the chief Counselors stood. "There is reason to believe that the Orcs do not pillage Arnor; they wish to do damage against Lindon. To succeed, they must reach this Elf-realm unseen. They believe they move with stealth; but the eyes of the Eldar are not blind. We have the advantage."
"Of course," said Gil-galad. "It would take a great host to raze Lindon. It is clear that this is but a warning from Sauron; he wishes to inspire fear into the hearts of Elf and Man. Even still, a plan of action must be taken."
Cirdan, from his seat, then spoke. "The Orc-host... how long until they arrive?"
"Two days at the latest, unless they be hindered by the noble Men of Arnor," stated Elrond, looking to Elendil. "We must swiftly plan."

Mithlond - Mindon Lindlieva 24 Quelle in the Reckoning of Lindon 30 Narquelie in the King's Reckoning
Glorfirith walked quickly through the halls making her way to the council porch. She was hoping that they would wait for her.
She made it in time and found her seat and was quite happy when she noticed that Elrond wasn't in the room. She just stared into space remembering the last time she had visited her uncle. Caused a bit of trouble but overall behaved herself and had a good time... she was pretty sure she overall behaved herself. She frowned slightly trying to remember.
Just then movement caught her attention and Elrond walked into the room. She slouched slightly but grinned when he sent a glare her way. She was going to be sure to avoid him the rest of the night... at least.
She managed to pay attention for quite a while before her attention wandered. She was quite happy to not have to worry about such things. Eventually her thoughts left the council.
Orcs and a wedding how exciting, at least the wedding comes first... I don't have anything to wear! Glorfirith paused just before making to jump up to find a dress before she realised she was still in council. Looks like I'm skipping dinner...
