Myth landed neatly along side the lake, small ripples from his backwing lapping at his toes, as he turned his head to look at the enterance in which Ashke was supposed to be arriving from.
Ashke hadn't taken long to get down to the weyr bowl, dispite having to stop for soap and to remove that metal belt that Myth liked so much. Pretty, but not very practical for bathing. Rolling up he sleeves as she hurried towards the lake, Ashke looked up and smiled at Myth before noticing that other riders were also gathered there, and not looking very happy. Ashke delibertly slowed her pace and walked to the far side of Myth so as not to interve with their conversation.

{{Eldawen- Yes, I do know that he's a rider. That was to show the ignorance on Liana's behalf. =) }}

"I think I understand." Kai smiled ruefully, recalling her first meeting with a rather petulant and obnoxious Lord Holder. "That does become something of a problem sometimes."
Kaivani, Orange-Blue Myth and his rider come, Regalth announced, turning her head slightly to watch them approach.
"Huh?" Kai turned her head from where she was treading water and smiled. When she looked back at Selene her eyes were sparkling with good humor again. "Ah, we have company, Selene. Hello, Ashke!" Kai yelled over to the woman, waving at Ashke. "Come to give your boy a bath?"

Selene looked over at the newcomer and gave a small smile before diving under the water.

C'nor looked at Liana for a moment. "Oh, I'm not a weyrling." He said gently.

Ashke smiled at Kai and nodded as she dropped the bag of softsands to the ground in front of her so that she could kneal to take off her boots. "Yep. He always needs help getting into those "hard to reach places", when he isn't too busy sunny that is. I swear, sometimes he's just like a hatchling. I hope I wasn't interupting anything."
Good morning Regalth. Myth gave the prisim a draconic smile and nodded to her. Always his charming self.

A quick glance was cast at the center of the small ripples, where Selene had disappeared beneath the surface, and Kai smiled. "No, I think we were pretty much finished." Kai swam for shore and walked out, pushing her wet hair from her face and pulling it behind her ears. "And besides, I need to go find M'tri and Kaereth; we have things to do before I can spend time with S'tesch."
Kai knew that S'tesch had been briefly introduced to both Ashke and M'tri the same night the two had arrived, by Kai herself, but wasn't sure how her lover felt about them. He said they were fine, that he didn't know them well enough to judge, but Kai had know S'tesch for many years and knew that he generally judged people on the spot. If he hadn't given her an immediate opinion... there was clearly something wrong that he didn't want to bring up, for whatever reason.
Did they ever reply to you, darling?
No, Kaimine, Kaereth has not replied yet, but I do not know why. I know he recieved my message.
Maybe they're just busy and didn't think we'd like a reply. Kai sighed heavily and squeezed her hair out while she walked over to her clothing. "And so, off I go." She smiled ruefully at Ashke. "I'm really sorry I don't have more time to spend keeping you and Selene company."

"There, done."
A very satisfied M'tri was now sitting on his bed and looking at his weyr. He finally had everything in place. He looked over to Kaereth, who was also looking around.
|I'm glad you're done. Now I can give you your message.|
M'tri sighed. "What mesage?"
|Kai and Regalth will be late to your meeting.|
M'tri blinked. "Ooooh. I forgot all about that. Well, good thing she'l be late, right? Now, what were we going to do? Oh! Clutch hunting." he said, mostly to himself. He stood up and stretched. "Kae, will you let Kai know we'll meet her there when she's done doing whatver it is she's doing." he requested. He then went to change into some swim wear since he was sure the sea would feel good at this time of day.
While M'tri was doing this, Kaereth contacted Regalth.|Greetings, Regalth. I'm sorry I didn;t reply to you earlier. M'tri has been busy. But he has said he will meet you and your rider and your rider later at the beach.|
"Ok, Kae, let's go." the big man said as he draped a large towel over his shoulder.
The two were soon flying towards the beach, taking the long way rather than betweening.

Back to our Weyr, precious. I need to dry off, get on some clothes for swimming- if M'tri heads back we can still take some time in the sea- get you properly harnessed, and bring along what we'll need should we find a Clutch to bring back, Kai instructed as she pulled just her pants on and walked over to her Prism, mounting with only a little trouble.
Of course. I would not let you go between without being properly attired, Regalth replied, sounding offended that Kai would think her so foolish.
I'm sorry, I know you know, Kai soothed, looking out at the lake. "Bye, Selene! Bye, Ashke!" She called as Regalth lifted off, speeding back to their Weyr and letting Kai do what she needed before they could leave.
Zimith, where is Kai?
At the moment, Kai and Regalth are still in the Weyr. I think they may be in their rooms.
Getting ready for M'tri, no doubt, S'tesch thought in annoyance. Zimith chose not to reply, knowing that his rider was in a foul mood. Their Weyr, you say?
Yes, S'teschmine.
S'tesch was walking before he even knew it and reached Kai's rooms with ease, luckily making it there before she left.
"So, finished with whatever it was you had to do?" He asked smoothly, forcing himself to grin cockily as she whirled about, startled.
"Ah, S'tesch, no, I'm actually just leaving. I had a rider I needed to speak to," Kai replied, a hand lifting to her damp hair as she saw his look. "She was at the lake."
"Ah ha." The bronze rider stepped into the room and sauntered over to Kai while she smiled. "Will you and that Shadowrider- what was his name? M'tri?- be done anytime soon?"
"I honestly don't know, I'm sorry. It all depends on how lucky we are."
"With what?"
Kai gave him a "nice try" look. "You'll see." Leaning up, she kissed him lightly, but he leaned into it, making the moment go on for longer than the initial kiss had obviously intended it to. When the two split apart, Kai grinned at him as they tried to get their breath back. "What was that for?"
"Oh, I just miss you, is all. I don't see you much anymore, you know," he pointed out, tilting his head slightly as Kai looked down, clearly feeling guilty.
"I know. Oh, S'tesch, I'm sorry; really I am. It's just... there seems to be so much to do all the time. If it's not one thing keeping me from personal time it's another. You must be feeling more slighted by that than even I do. I'll tell you what," she said with a sudden burst of enthusiasm, as if just hit by an idea, "First thing tomorrow when I see Fiacha, I'll ask her if I can have a little time off. She was doing things on her own before I came along, she can do without me for a couple of days. Then you and I can take some personal time, just the two of us. Okay?"
S'tesch couldn't help but smile at her exuberance. He reached out and brushed some hair behind Kai's ear as he nodded. "Sure, Kai. But... you know, you do seem to spend a lot of time with that M'tri fellow..."
Kai pulled away and turned her back on him, making it look as if she were going to get Regalth's harness, although much of it was to hide her sudden nervous look from him. "What are you talking about?"
S'tesch, as if sensing the change in the air, watched her carefully as he continued speaking, noticing her fiddling with the harness straps; jerky checks to make sure everything was in order. "I just mean that it seems as if he sees you more than I do."
"I said I'd talk to Fiacha, didn't I?" Kai said, almost too sharply. She picked up the harness and walked into Regalth's part of the Weyr to mask it, although she felt- if not heard- S'tesch following her. "I don't spend more time with him than with anyone else."
"I disagree. When he showed up, I understood that he and the Orange-Blue rider needed to be shown around. The Headwoman or another rider could have done it, but I understood that you wanted to do your duty to the Weyr and help out. I even let it go when you and he started 'accidentally' bumping into each other and just going places without so much as a warning in my direction. Now, though, you're going off without even telling me what you're doing. I think you're spending a fair bit of time with him, and I think there's more to it than you're letting on." There. He'd said it; it was all out in the open now.
Kai had turned during his calm speech and was now staring at him as if dumbstruck. She turned back to Regalth and threw the saddle on, beginning to strap it to the Prism's body, not even seeming to feel the quiver as Regalth began to get worried. "That's ridiculous."
"Is it? Look at the evidence. It seems more like you're weyrmates with him than with me."
"S'tesch, you're overreacting! M'tri is a friend, a new one, and I'm just trying to be as kind to him as I am to all of my friends. Like Neci!"
"He's not Neci, Kaivani!" S'tesch replied angrily, feeling his blood starting to boil.
"What has gotten into you?" Kai exclaimed, turning to stare at him in disbelief. "You don't need to be jealous! M'tri and I just spend a little time together and-"
"More time together than most friends do-"
"I wish you would think about this rationally!" She finished loudly, over his cut-off statement. "I don't want another fight with you!"
"By the Shell, I'm your weyrmate, Kai!" He exploded, clenching his hands into fists. "Don't I deserve more of your attention than that damn Shadowrider?!"
"I'm not going to fight with you about this, too!" She screamed back, glaring and gesturing with her hands as she spoke. In the background, Regalth's eyes were whirling yellow and red. "Nothing untoward has happened between M'tri and I; you're just imaginging things!"
"Am I? Then why won't you tell me where you're going?"
"Because it's none of your Sharding buisness, that's why!" Kai glared, both of them standing in silence, S'tesch's jaw noticably clenched. She turned on her heel abruptly and mounted Regalth. "I'm leaving. Hopefully when I get back you'll be in a better mood."
Go, Regalth!
And on that note, Kai and her dragon lifted from the Weyr, leaving S'tesch glaring at the sky after them until they moved out of sight.
"Shard it!" He shouted, kicking the doorway. He glared once more at where they had left from and then stormed out of Kai's weyr.
(I haven't used S'tesch or Necia much lately, and I feel bad, so there's a post for darling Teschy! *Ignores his glare at the nickname* It was so long that I actually had to use size 9! Holy crap, look at the length of this post! By the Egg! Well, it was a great little fight scene. Poor Kai and Teschy are having problems....)

Ashke hadjust waved off Kai's comment. She had more things to do, and worry about then helping her bath Myth, after all. S'tesch for example. Nodding to the swimming Selene, Ashke grabbed up the bag of sweetsands before wading out hip deep into the lake and motioning for Myth to join her.
"It's time for your scrub, Myth. Get in here."
Myth seemed to roll his multi-faceted eyes as he moved into the water himself. I'm not a hatchling anymore, you know. I can scrub my own back.
But who will reach that one spot on your back? You need me.
Myth sighed, and as if humoring a little child, bent down in the water so she could climb up high on his back to scrub.
You know you love it.
Myth gave another sigh, something of a chuckle acocmpaning it.

M'tri grinned as the weyr came into sight. He told Kaereth to land in the weyrbowl. Nodding, the big Shadow began to spiral lower and lower until he landed gently. M'tri slid off, the eggs held gently by him. He walked over to where Regalth had landed, looking up at Kai. "We should find a hearth to put a bowl of sand on for these eggs." he suggested. That's how it had been done in his old hold when a clutch of flitt eggs was found.

"I agree. We don't have bowls large enough for all of them, but if I get two of the large bowls used for salads during Hatching Feasts and Gathers, we should be able to fit five in each," Kai replied, clmbing down and taking her own eggs from Regalth's saddle as her two flits flew in the air to wait for the humans to get moving.
"When we get in we can ask the Headwoman what would be a good place. I don't trust the kitchens with all the activity, but surely there's a hearth in a safe place somewhere. If all else fails, we can ask Fiacha to hold them for us until they Hatch."

He nodded. Two bowls was a better idea than cramming them all into the exact same bowl. Calculating the size of the bowls she was talking about, he nodded. Yeah, that sounded about right. "Well, I wouldn't suggest leaving them in the kitchens unless we had people to watch them. The headwoman could set something up like that. And I doubt anyone would try to steal them, not with the headwoman on alert. I'd hate to bother Fiacha just about some flitt eggs."

"I don't think she'd mind... especially since it would bring up this slump we've been in emotion-wise for the last few weeks. The Weyr has just seemed off and I can't puzzle out why. Half the females are on their toes and most of the males seem anxious; only problem is, I can't figure what it is that's making them so out-of-sorts. I assume their riders, but...." Kai sighed. "Anyway, you're right, we probably shouldn't bother Fiacha unless we had no where else to put them. I suppose we could put them in my room, but my fireplace is rather small, even for the junior weyrwoman's quarters."
Kai regarded the packs as she and M'tri walked across the Bowl towards the Weyr. Could she fit two large bowls of 5 a piece in her room? Well, maybe if she really stoked up the fire, even in this heat.... She could always sleep with Regalth or in S'tesch's chambers after all.
S'tesch's chambers? Faranth, the rumors that would inspire! No, sleeping with Regalth would be better; less trouble for everyone that way.
