Can I ask what a Hellenic Polytheist is?

Thats one I haven't heard of before. smile

It's also known as Hellenism, Hellenic Reconstruction, Dodekatheism and gods know what else. I worship the gods of Ancient Greece in a matter that is as close to the ancient ways as can be don in modern times. We use primary texts and secondary research to build our religious practice.

French

un
du
traue
catre
sanc
seis
set
weit
nuff
dies

I know you're typing phoenetically, but if you want to learn spellings too, it's un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix.

I took 7 years of French, but haven't spoken/written/read/used it much in over a decade. I do speak it in dreams sometimes, and still remember some partial poems I memorized.

Jaz answered the Japanese one already, but check this out!

Oh, and my sister took Greek in college, and Chinese. She and her husband met in Chinese class. 4laugh She's jennimac on here, and I'm sure she'd love to throw in a little help in those areas.

1-10 in Chinese as I remember it:

(phoenetically)
Ee, Er, Sun, Suhr, Ewe, Lao, Chi, Ba, Djo, Shur
(Jenni can surely correct me on the real spelling/pronunciation)

Well... the only reason I know as much spanish as I do is because... for 1, hubby knows alot, growing up and working in houston you tend to learn it pretty quick... for 2, my daughter, Angel, has spanish class in school (and computer class) and she comes home telling me what all spanish words she's learned. whee She can now count up to 14 in spanish and knows please and thank you and knows the majority of her main colors! 3nodding

It's so much easier these days for kids to learn. We have a few books in Spanish and Chinese and a bunch of Dora the explorer stuff that my daughter can figure out!

Like Jazz, I have only gotten this far reading, but my husband has been teaching my daughter some Japanese:

Itchy
Ni
San
Shi
Go
Roku
Hatcha
Nonni
qiu
jiu

(that's phonetic according to what I heard) Ella's favorite is Nonni because it's also Lilo's (and STitch) sister's name!

That's according to her husband Guy who lived in Japan for a while. But he wasn't quite sure on some of the numbers, and his 7 and 8 disagree with those I found online.

Yeah, I would trust what Fawn wrote more than what I wrote. Hmmm.... I wonder what Nonni means then?

WickedTigersquash
German

ein
zwei
drei
fier
funf
sechs
seben
acht
neun
tzein

Can't spell anything, but i know quite a bit of German, as I lived there for 3 and a half years. smile

I lived in Germany too for three years (military brat I am). It was a requirement in school for all the military kids to take German. Made it REAL easy for me in high school when I had to take a foreign language class in order to graduate. mrgreen

ein (1) eins
fier (4) is vier
seben (7) sieben
tzein (10) is zehn

funf should have umlauts, but I don't know how to do them on the computer. I am proud to say I can count to 100+ still.

My mother was pure, 100% portuguese. She tried to teach me the language but I was a stubborn child (not saying I've changed much wink ). I can only count to 10.

um
dois
tres
quatro
cinco
seis
sieve
oito
nove
dez

If only I payed attention to her more.......... neutral

I don't know if I should post this in here, but why not? It's about English learning though...
One of the teachers I work with has gotten her site together and is really working at it. I will soon be developing worksheets for her that will be downloadable and more. But in the meantime, we need to build up her numbers. So what I'm asking is if everyone that reads this could go to google and do a search on elcivics, then click the link for the site that is elcivics.com. Then take a little time to click around the site a bit. This would be a great help to the both of us...

Thank you in advance!
