Pounding against the cobbled stoned sidewalk was a man dressed in rags, his voice screamed against the shining blue sky above. Though behind him was a corrode of monsters; or beasts as you would call them. As the man kept running, horrific expressions painted against people's faces as the monsters kept driving closer. Now the town scrambled to get to safety, their eyes streaming with fear and disgust of the hideous beasts out to get them. Running fiercely against the wind, the monsters raised their sharp-like fangs, swiping away innocent human bodies in order to fill their blood lust. The blue sky above had now turned black, for the monsters destroyed the town's buildings, and set the entire town a blaze. A red fire seeped through into the air, the smell of blood lingering within the wind. It seemed as if no one survived.
Among the fire and broken buildings, their were rotting corpses in which the monsters fed off of. Flies and maggots came around to eat away at their flesh, their blood-thirsty bodies needing a source of fuel. Humans were a reliable source, no? Their bodies were especially fresh when they were young. Like little children. Throughout the barren town, the bodies of children were nothing but bones. That seemed to be the only thing left, bones. Very few people seemed to survive, but how had the day gone from good to bad? But walking among the corpses was a tall man with long silver hair. He had bright lavender eyes, and skin as white as a cloud. The crunch of gravel underneath his foot seemed to be the only sound that didn't alarm him. But the scene before his eyes made him almost vomit in disgust. [color=#550625][b]"It's too late now, the king knows....and so do the Thanatos...."[/b][/color]
[align=center][i]FOUR HOURS AGO[/i][/align]
Gleaming clear blue water sparkled nicely against the blue sky as a man rested against the base of a large tree. The shimmer of the lake before the man gave him the feel of being content, like he was at ease. It was as if the day would be quite perfect.
Or so he thought.
The water before him began to glow, like a white light was shining down below. His eyes widened at this sight, like a man had just stumbled upon something important. [color=#550625][b]"W-what?.....I-It can't be.......Is It?..."[/b][/color] Sitting up, the man seemed to know what the light was, or he had a hunch of what it's [i]supposed[/i] to be. Taking a few steps forward, the man rubbed his lavender eyes as if making sure he wasn't dreaming. But somehow, he knew he wasn't. For a mere five minutes, the glow kept getting brighter with each step the man took. When his tracks stopped, out from the water emerged a white light. The man struggled to see what was at the center of the light, so he shielded his eyes till they adjusted. That's when he saw it, [i]the joukai jewel[/i]. Kneeling in disbelief of the ancient jeweled legend, tears formed from his eyes as the presence of the ornament was significant. [color=#550625][i]'I found it.....the heaven jewel which is said to be able to grant the user unmentionable powers. But, how could it have appeared here in the small town of Azalea?'[/i][/color] For a few seconds, the man remained speechless as his thoughts got the better of him, but soon reality had sunk in. Thousands of monsters and greedy humans will want it's power. Without thinking, the man took out a thin paper with a black inked symbol on it. But before he could act on it, out from the trees came a striking blue light, and at the center of it was an arrow. In a blink of an eye, the arrow pierced the joukai jewel, causing it to shatter into a million pieces. Like the scene before, the pieces were scattered all across the earth, spreading throughout the world of Arcadia.
[color=#550625][b]"...N-no.....NOOOOO!"[/b][/color] As the man witnessed this, he looked in the direction of the arrow, his anger boiling mad. Slipping the thin paper back within his coat, the man noticed something shiny just meters away from where he was sitting. Walking carefully toward it, his lips curved into a smile. [color=#550625][b]"A joukai shard"[/b][/color] he paused momentarily, tucking the shard into his pocket as he finally began to run toward the direction of the arrow. [color=#550625][b]"That was no ordinary arrow.....it was stained with a charm spell. And only high level mages can cast [i]that[/i] type of spell. I'll find out who"[/b][/color]
Placing his back against a tree, the mans breath sounded hoarse and heavy. He had been running quite a long time for he finally found tracked down the person who shot the arrow. Though little sound could be heard, it was apparent that the person was still there. Slipping his head so that only his right eye could see, the man found himself looking upon a tall beautiful woman. She had long flowing hair, reaching down towards her knees, and the color was a light brown shade. As he was stunned in awe, the man began to turn his body, letting his feet snap a twig. That was when the woman turned around swiftly in the mans direction. [color=#592E73][b]"Who's there?..."[/b][/color] she said commandingly. [color=#550625][i]'She didn't see me. Hopefully she didn't see me'[/i][/color] Nearly clinging to the tree, the mans chest rose and fell with each step the woman seemed to take towards the tree. Then he felt the cold feel of iron against his skin. When the man opened his eyes, he came into contact with two bright red orbs. Letting his hand to slip within his pocket, he felt around for the joukai shard, as if making sure it was still their. [color=#550625][i]'It's still here, right in my pocket.'[/i][/color] The woman's eyes never left the mans, but she could plainly tell he was hiding something. The dagger within her hand trailed down to where the man had his hand at. Carefully putting his hands up, a swift cut to his pants came afterward from the woman's sharp weapon. Dropping down to the ground was the shard of the joukai jewel. It lightly shined within the sunlight, it's sparkle distracting the woman as her expression changed. She bent down to pick it up, but was instead met with a fist to her face. The mans punch almost knocked the woman down but she quickly shook it off and wended around him, locking him within her grasp. [color=#592E73][b]"Who are you and why do you have a shard of the jewel?!"[/b][/color] Pressing her dagger against the man's neck, he struggled to free himself from her grasp. [color=#592E73][b]"Speak quickly!"[/b][/color] The daggers point began to drive itself within the mans skin as blood dripped down his neck. This woman was not in a joking state. [color=#550625][b]"I-II.....The jewel must be destroyed before the king finds out it is real. Were you the person who shattered it?"[/b][/color] The grip on the man loosened till the woman finally let him go. She turned her dagger around so that the sharp side was pointed upward, then with one hit, the weapon came within contact of the mans head. He went as limp as a fish bone, his eyes closing until the last thing he saw was a streak of long brown hair.

The smell of blood lingered around within the mans nose, his eyes opening up to a forest of darkness. All around him seemed dark and damped with blackness that it took sometime for the mans eyes to adjust. [color=#550625][i]'What?....d-ddid she knock me out?.......'[/i][/color] his husky voice but a whisper in the air. As he stood up slowly, he found himself looking up into the night sky, seeing a trail of black smoke fly on the wind. [color=#550625][i]'What happened to that woman from earlier? I swear she is [i]that[/i] mage. But.....did she really shatter the jewel?...'[/i][/color] A corrode of questions kept filtering within the mans mind, it got to the point of where he literally had to shake his head to come back to reality. Without a second thought, the man began to walk in the direction of the black smoke. He knew what awaited him, but nonetheless, he kept on walking.
The scene changed drastically, from a once lively town, was now a blacken wasteland. The mans eyes seemed to be stunned as he passed by the bones of children and woman. The faces of Men were nearly carved off as their flesh peeled and rotted. Stopping in his tracks, the man sighed out loud, titling his head as he seemed to be in deep thought once again. [color=#550625][b]"It's too late now, the king knows....and so do the Thanatos...."[/b][/color][/size][/list][/list][/list][/list][/list][/list][/list][/list]
